The purpose of educational assessments such as the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) is to compare groups such as countries. When the unit of measurement is above the student level, group-level diagnostic assessment based on multilevel item response theory (ML-IRT) can be considered just as cognitive diagnosis models are developed from item response theory. This study suggests an ML-IRT-based group-level diagnostic assessment model by modifying an item feature model by Park and bolt (2008). The model is illustrated on the recently released TIMSS 2015 Grade 8 mathematics assessment. The results provide skill profiles for the studied countries and the nine cognitive attributes; that is, the attribute effects can be compared across the countries and also across the attributes. By controlling unexplained variance, the suggested model may provide more reliable and more informative group-level comparisons. The results are interpreted using an example. Limitations and directions for future research are also discussed.

With the increasing demand of foreign language education in colleges, an effective testing and study system is also needed especially for large scale classes. In this paper, 1 propose a new online system for running large scale foreign language classes which supports not only testing function but also individually customized studying and diagnosis functions. Using the proposed system enables saving of testing space and helps all students get equally good testing and study environment regardless of class size and lecturers.

This article examines actions of the department of a university according to Higher Education Evaluation Policy as a case on the department of Christian education of A University. This article consists of background and policy Higher Education Evaluation and actions of the department of Christian education. Specialization, curriculum, management of instructional quality, educational achievement, student support and cooperation of local community as category of trends of the department of Christian education are discussed. Aim of education, model of human resource, educational objects, and key-competency as the specialization of department of Christian education are discussed. Curriculum of department suggests students career track which is related to their career. Positive guidance counseling are implemented for rate of recruit related to educational achievement. Non-subject matter program of University and Department are introduced for students's support. 60 hours of educational service and other educational activities are carried out for local community. Principal, chaplain of school and teachers are invited for educational practical affairs of education. The result of this article can be used as a basic reference for the direction of the higher education.

It is general that the ICAI(Intelligent Computer Assisted Instruction) consists of 4 modules. Export module, Teacher module, Student module and Interface module. In each module construction, there should be some rules to control strategies efficiently and systematically that are related to the texts and assessment instruments, assessment results and evaluation, feedback, etc. It is necessary to use a method to classify the curriculum into sections with units and to represent the identified relationships between them. These relationships are available to all the process of learning, assessment, evaluation and feedback. In this paper, we propose the method to represent these units and relationships as a graph. In addition, we implement an internet-based courseware authoring tool to support the environment in which several expert can construct concurrently the courseware with cooperation between them.

The wide range of the Freshmen English placement test scores implies the necessity of differentiating classes. However without a careful and detailed plan, there could be trial and error which would cause harmful and complicated troubles to students. This paper will report a case of grouping Freshmen for English classes at the Engineering College of a provincial university. The main procedures include preparing and executing the placement test, grouping classes, preparing and executing a common final test, preparing grading policy, and reporting. Each procedure is going to be explained and evaluated to improve the quality of English classes and the ability of students at the Engineering College.

In this paper, a highly effective learning model that can be applied to the 7th level-based curriculum, which will begin in high schools in the year 2002, will be proposed. Two learning models that have different perspectives on dividing the students into level groups(diagnostic evaluation model and formative evaluation model) were introduced, and teaching materials for each model were developed. After applying the teaching materials to actual classes, the achievement rate of the students was analyzed. According to the results of this research, the achievement rate of students is affected by the point of time at which they are divided into level groups, and formative evaluation proved to be the superior learning model dividing students into level groups.

It is well known that the low achievement students are easily affected by the ways how the materials are organized and presented. So the studies on trying to find how those students' responses are differed according to the organization or presentation of the materials are necessary. This paper was based on the results of Korean Elementary 3 Grade Students National Diagnosis Assessment on Basic Scholastic Ability in area of mathematics. We analyzed students responses through combining the percents of correct answers with the assessment items. After that, we identified the properties of low achievement students in mathematics and presented some guides which, we thought, are helpful for improvements of mathematics textbooks and teacher guide books.

The present study suggests ways to improve the Korean proficiency screening test through an analysis of WIDA tests. A review of WIDA Screener, WIDA MODEL, and W-APT reveals that each of these three tests consists of four or five tests, corresponding to grade-level clusters. In addition, the WIDA screening tests assess both English for social communication and academic English, according to WIDA's five English Language Development (ELD) standards. Thematic folders of the ELD standards have different ranges of item difficulty, and the WIDA screening tests are adaptive tests. Lastly, the writing tests consist of performance-based tasks, and the rubric is holistic. As suggestions for improvement for Korean screening tests of the KSL curriculum, this study proposes (a) to devise items to assess academic Korean, so as to evaluate students' overall proficiency more accurately, (b) to utilize an adaptive method to screen students' proficiency more efficiently, and (c) to revise the writing tasks and rubric of the current KSL screening tests.

The Ministry of Education has serviced nationwide the diagnosis-supplement system for basic academic skills for elementary and middle schools since 2013. The purpose of this paper is to propose an improvement plans of the diagnosis-supplement system by analysing system utilization status, 2015 and requirements of teachers and experts. For this study, over three times the taking rates and achievement rates were analyzed and the interviews and consultations of teachers and professionals were also analyzed. In conclusion, we proposed the improvement plans of the diagnosis-supplement system for the each of teachers and students.

교육평가는 선발의 기능을 할 뿐 아니라 학습자의 학습상태나 오류경향에 대한 진단을 통해 학습자의 학습에 도움을 주어야 한다. 이르한 측면에서 오류분석은 평가가 지녀야 하는 가장 중요한 기능 중 하나라고 할 수 있다. 인터넷의 대중적 보급과 시간적, 공간적, 기술적 효율성은 평가환경에 대한 새로운 가능성을 제시하고 있다. 인터넷 환경에서의 평가문항은 선다형을 기본으로 하게 되는데, 선다형 평가문항을 통해서는 학습자들의 오류를 직접적으로 관출할 수 없다는 한계가 있다. 그러나 선다형 평가문항을 통한 오류분석이 불가능한 것은 아니다. 본 연구의 목적은 선다형 평가문항에서의 오류분석을 위한 구체적인 방법과 절차를 모색하는 것이다.
