  • 본지에서 소개하고 있는 '한국의 건축가' 기획연재는 그동안 게재 되었던 이희태(95년 3월호 ~ 5월호), 김정수(95년 6월호 ~ 8월호)에 이어 건축가 김수근(1931~1986)에 대해 소개하고자 한다. 이번호부터 소개되는 건축가 김수근편 에서는 그가 태어난 1931년부터 1960년까지의 유년시절과 건축의 수련기(성장배경과 서울의 북촌, 일본에서의 건축교육)를 시작으로 1960년부터 1972년까지의 한국건축의 새로운 이념형을 찾아서(김수근 건축연구소, 한국종합기술개발공사, 인간환경 계획연구소), 공간시대(1972년~1986년)등으로 구분하여 그의 작품세계를 분석ㆍ소개하고자 한다.

Education and Freedom for the 'Pick-Me' Generation in reading of Chun-suk Oh and Byun-chul Han (픽미세대를 위한 자유교육 소고: 천원 오천석의 자유 개념을 중심으로)

  • This paper begins with the notion of 'pick-me generation', which refers to today's young generation in Korea. It is named after the title of a song introduced at the Television programme for the competitive audition for girl-group singers. This name gives an idea of the atmosphere of the competition that the current young generation experiences in South Korea. In parallel to it, the research examines the meaning of freedom and choice in democratic education in Oh Chunsuck, in his later work in particular. This paper attempts to demonstrate the possibility to relate Oh's notion of freedom and democracy in relation to Han who critically analyses contemporary discourses on neo-liberalism and democracy. This paper re-views Oh's ideals of democracy and education within its own limitations on freedom. The argument extends Oh's idea of freedom and ethical democracy to the idea of freedom that is relevant to today's younger generation.

A study on factors causing legislative failure of bills related to democratic citizenship education (민주시민교육 관련 법안의 입법 실패 요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study sought to explain the reasons why the civic education bill failed to be enacted as many as 13 times. What we discovered as a result of our research is, first, the absence of a legislative strategy by the minority member of the national assembly on this bills. The Citizenship Education Bill was a controversial bill with great potential for ideological conflict, and after the 19th National Assembly, this bill was promoted by a minority of a specific political party. The Democratic Party's sponsoring lawmakers did not use active legislative strategies, such as exerting influence within the party to have these bills adopted as the party's platform, or developing them into major pledges for the general and presidential elections. Second, there is a consistent passive response from civic groups as well as lawmakers who signed the bill in an unfavorable public opinion environment. During the legislative process, opposing opinions were overwhelming, including concerns about the spread of leftist ideology, waste of budget and organization, and violation of neutrality and fairness in education. In addition, the passive attitude of field teachers and civic groups, who should be in charge of civic education, also served as a background for the legislative failure. Third, due to a lack of sharing of reliable information on recent theoretical research and global policy trends among stakeholders, legislation through an agreement between the ruling and opposition parties failed.

An Analysis on Student Burden Double Reduction Policy in China - Based on Kingdon's Policy Stream Model (중국 의무교육단계 학생 부담경감 정책의 흐름 분석 - Kingdon의 정책흐름모형을 중심으로)

  • Based on Kingdon's policy stream model, the logical mechanism of student burden double reduction policy agenda setting process in China was analyzed from three aspects: problem stream, policy stream, political stream. It was found that the direct reflection of data, the feedback and improvement of current policies constitute the problem stream.The high attention of government departments, the suggestions of CPPCC members and experts and scholars, the strong voice of schools, and the continuous voice of stakeholders constitute the policy stream. The ruling party's governing idea and educational policy, national mood and interest game during the transition period constitute the political policy stream. The three streams, coupling interaction, open the policy window, promoting the introduction of the 'double reduction' policy.

A Study on the Education for Teacher Librarians in Inclusive Educational Environment (통합교육환경에서의 사서교사 교육에 관한 연구)

  • In recent years, inclusion of students with disabilities in regular classrooms and special classrooms in mainstream schools has been a major stream of special education. However education for teacher librarians in Korea has not been responsive to these trends. A few of departments of library & information science in Korea universities offer courses that include information about special needs students. This study addressed the implications of inclusive education, the roles of school library and the training needs of teacher librarians for service to special needs students. And it analyzed tendency and current states of teacher librarians education on inclusive education. As a result, it is recommended that departments of library & information science in Korean universities offer more courses concerning educational support for special needs students in their curriculum and include of special modules in their most of courses offered to enhance the skill of future teacher librarians to cater for special educational needs.

  • This study is to investigate the theoretical background of the content system for an integrated approach to multi-cultural education. It has been expanding to children from general family even though started to support children from multi-cultural family. Most of multi-cultural education programs would be their purpose as building the multi-cultural citizenship even though various multi-cultural education have been introduced. These programs had limited to apply western multi cultural education into Korea school, and Their focuses were not who is person to be morally educated in the multi cultural society. Thus, this study put emphasis on the necessity of and developed the content system for an integrated approach to multi-cultural education.

  • Alternative education in Korea has grown into an educational movement since the 1990s. The alternative education is affecting and growing the public education system such as innovative schools, free semester systems, and high school credit systems. In 2021, an institutional foundation was also established to be recognized and supported as an educational institution. As a result of reflecting on the alternative education movement for 20 years, it is understood as stagnant lost time in the second half of the decade. It is discussing reorganizing the meaning of future-oriented "alternatives" with the new "alternatives". The poverty of educational philosophy has also been highlighted as an issue, but no special discussions have been underway. Thus, the study discussed to propose an educational philosophy that could capture the ideologies of alternative education. Critical pedagogy aims to foster human beings who are subjective, autonomous, active and self-reliant through conscious emancipation. In recent years, critical pedagogy have discussed ecological environment and feminism. The educational philosophy of scholars such as Freire and Illich was the basis of the early alternative educational movement. Considering this, the study discusses that Korea's alternative education movement can be understood through critical education and is reasonable as an educational philosophy for new alternatives in the future.

A study on the reform of the liberal arts curriculum based on key competencies for the innovation of liberal arts education in Universities (대학 교양교육 혁신을 위한 핵심역량 기반 교양 교육과정 개편에 대한 연구 -C 대학 사례를 중심으로)

  • The 21st century of the 4th industrial revolution demands 'competency' as a new educational concept that is different from that required in the industrialization era. In accordance with these changes and demands of society, universities are being called for key competency-based education and innovation in education through this by breaking away from the existing methods in liberal arts and major education. At this point, universities are presenting a comprehensive reform of liberal arts education for various financial support projects. This study presents the case of University C regarding the reform of the liberal arts curriculum for the innovation of liberal arts education in universities. According to the research results, each university is reorganizing the liberal arts curriculum in a way that can suggest various key competencies according to the university's founding philosophy and induce key competencies in the aspect of liberal arts education. For the key competency-based liberal arts curriculum of University C, we proposed various subjects for insufficient key competency subjects, various micro-degrees were proposed to specialize liberal arts education, and meta-learning-related liberal arts subjects were presented to improve basic learning ability of the students.

Efficacy Analysis of Developed Course for Promoting Character Education with Women's University Students (대학교의 인성교육진흥을 위한 교양교과 개발 및 효과성 연구)

  • This research has verified the efficacy of character education course in Liberal Art Curriculum in accordance with the objective of K Women's University of which is the 'mind sharing through mindfulness, SMART human resources development'. Most of the content of character education is organized aiming to promote values of "appreciation". The subjects are experimental group and control group, of which are 229. Research methods were t-test of between groups. The effects of the course have shown that the experimental group students were higher on the level of connectedness sub-scale in Gestalt Contact Boundary Scale than those of the control group students(t=2.323, p = .021). Although the 'character education' course increased connectedness, but it no positive effect on mindfulness skill and self-esteem. This results showed that character education course is effective to promote mind sharing and connectedness in part. It was discussed about a way of further refining course contents and the need to reflect educational philosophy of the K Women's University.
