A Study on Assessment Method of Program Outcomes (프로그램 학습성과 평가방법 연구)

  • The core of accreditation for engineering education is to improve the ability and quality of graduates through CQI system based on outcomes. For the program outcomes of the engineering education accreditation criterion, it is necessary to understand the relationship among education assessment, objective and curriculum. This study has focused on the program outcomes and the assessment. First the measure for improving the general problems of the program outcomes associated with assessment tool have been stated. And the detailed measure for practicing the program outcome, the assessment system and the assessment tool, which makes use of Rubrics, have been discussed. Therefore it is expected that the program outcome and the assessment may be conducted at universities with the assessment tool established in this study.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest application of Course Embedded Assessment (CEA) for program outcome in nursing education through literature & Office of Assessment web site reference review on concept, advantage, disadvantage, process, measure, tool and precaution. The process of CEA is program outcome, calculate weight of program outcome, embed program outcome in curriculum, development a rubric for CEA, assessment, analysis the result and achievement, feedback loop. CEA is vary useful to proof the student personal achievement and program quality improvement.

고등교육기관의 평가인증제가 대학 경영성과에 미치는 영향 -전문대학을 중심으로

  • 본 연구는 고등교육기관의 평가인증제가 대학의 경영성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 알아보기 위하여 1주기 기관평가인증제가 대학 균형성과표(BSC) 4가지 관점의 성과에 미치는 영향을 검증할 목적으로 진행되었다. 이를 위하여 고등교육기관의 1주기 평가인증제에 대한 내용을 살펴보고, 대학 조직의 균형성과표(BSC) 및 1주기 기관평가인증제의 성과분석에 대한 선행연구에 대해 살펴보았다. 그리고 독립변수인 기관평가인증제 즉, 기관평가인증제도에 대한 관심의 정도, 기관평가인증의 평가준비에 대한 적절성, 기관평가인증의 자체평가에 대한 만족도가 대학 균형성과표(BSC)의 고객관점, 내부프로세스 관점, 학습과 성장 관점, 재무 관점의 4가지 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석 검증하였다. 기존의 1주기 기관평가인증제의 성과분석에 관한 선행 연구들은 주로 평가인증제 체제 자체의 성과와 각 평가요소에 있어서 대학의 변화에 초점을 두고 성과를 분석함으로써 정작 기관평가인증제가 평가인증의 평가대상인 대학의 경영성과에 미친 영향에 대한 분석은 제대로 이루어지지 못하였다. 이러한 점에서 기관평가인증제가 대학의 경영성과에 미친 영향을 분석한 결과 첫째, 기관평가인증제중 기관평가인증의 평가준비에 대한 적절성과 기관평가인증의 자체평가에 대한 만족도는 대학 BSC의 고객 성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치지만, 기관평가인증제도에 대한 관심 정도는 고객 성과에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 기관평가인증제 중 기관평가인증의 평가준비에 대한 적절성과 기관평가인증의 자체평가에 대한 만족도는 대학 BSC의 내부프로세스 성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치지만, 기관평가인증제도에 대한 관심 정도는 내부프로세스 성과에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 기관평가인증제 중 기관평가인증제도에 대한 관심 정도와 기관평가인증의 자체평가에 대한 만족도는 대학 BSC의 학습과 성장 성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치지만, 기관평가인증의 평가준비에 대한 적절성은 학습과 성장 성과에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 기관평가인증제 중 기관평가인증의 평가준비에 대한 적절성과 기관평가인증의 자체평가에 대한 만족도는 대학 BSC의 재무 성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치지만, 기관평가인증제도에 대한 관심 정도는 재무 성과에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 기관평가인증의 평가준비와 자체평가 과정을 통해 실질적인 교육체계 혁신이나 내부프로세스 효율성 향상으로 인해 교육의 질이 개선되어 학생의 만족도와 선호도가 높아지며, 아울러 안정적 재원확보와 재원의 효율적 관리를 가져오는 것으로 해석된다. 그리고 기관평가인증제도에 대한 인식과 관심은 인증 획득이라는 목표를 설정하게 하고, 기관평가인증의 자체평가를 통해 인증평가에서 요구하는 기준 이상을 충족하도록 학습과 혁신이 이루어지는 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 본 연구의 결과는 학령인구의 급감 등 급변하는 대학의 대내외 환경에서 생존을 넘어 지속가능한 발전을 도모하기 위해 평가인증제를 다양한 대학의 경영성과로 연계할 경영전략 수립에 유용한 정보를 제공할 것이다.

Association between Outcome Evaluation and Satisfaction of Culture and Art Education (문화예술교육 참여자의 교육성과 평가가 교육만족에 미치는 영향)

  • The present study investigated how culture and art education participants' outcome evaluation predicts the satisfaction of the education by performing the secondary analysis of the Korea Arts and Culture Education Service's (KACES) survey data. Exploratory factor analysis identified three dimensions(content, management, and resources) of education outcome evaluation, and the regression analysis revealed the factors of outcome evaluation influenced the education satisfaction positively. When the sample was grouped according to prior participation experience and companion [participated alone or with other person(s)], the regression analysis showed the differences of the influences between groups. On the basis of the findings, managerial implications for improvement of the culture and art education programs and suggestions for further studies were discussed.

  • This Paper presents a clearly explained and richly illustrated case study of assessment and evaluation for program outcomes in accreditation for engineering education, which describe what Program students are expected to be able to do by the time of graduation. In particular, the performance criteria based on performance level, assessment tools, and level-of-achievement rubrics for assessment of program outcomes in electrical engineering program of Kwangwoon university will be briefly addressed. Obviously, the assessment, evaluation, and improvement processes for the specified program outcomes should be continuously carried out to demonstrate that the program objectives and outcomes are being met.

  • The overseas military education, which began in 1948, and the commissioned education of professional degrees, which was implemented in 1958 to obtain a degree for a professor at the Korea Military Academy, are expected to be expanded further in order to nurture talent who will lead the future and transformation of the Army in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. However, the Army's commissioned education system has been criticized for being high-cost and low-efficiency, and the systematic evaluation of the performance of commissioned education has also been insufficient. Therefore, this study examined the transition process of commissioned education by the ROK Army. The validity of the assessment area the CIPP evaluation model for the performance evaluation of commissioned education in the Army was verified through expert Delphi survey. According to the Delphi survey, the validity of the assessment area for the performance evaluation was all appropriate and various opinions on commissioned education were obtained.

  • Assessment of program achievement is an essential item to analyze and improve the engineering education program. Program achievements are the abilities to be obtained after finishing the 4 year engineering program, and the program achievements should be evaluated for the quality improvement of program. There are two important considerations to determine the assessment method. the first one is reliability and the second one is the feasibility. In this paper, we propose a assessment tools and introduce the assessment methods of program outcomes. The proposed method is designed to enhance the reliability and feasibility of assessment in engineering education.

A Case Analysis of Program Outcomes Assessment Systems for Engineering Education Accreditation of South Korea and USA (한국과 미국의 프로그램 학습성과 평가체계 사례분석)

  • This study aimed to seek the ways of improving program outcomes assessment systems for engineering education accreditation of South Korea through performing comparative analysis on those of the United States. Case-study research method was implemented to achieve the research goal. Five university programs, which have been well recognized as good practices in engineering education accreditation in the United States, were selected and analyzed. In addition, those of three universities in South Korea were chosen for comparative analysis, which were reformed by university affiliated Engineering Education Innovative Centers. The analysis results indicated that there were differences in each program's program outcomes, assessment level of program outcomes, evaluation methods on program outcomes achievement, and analysis and improvement records. It was drawn up that the evaluation methods on program outcomes achievement should be paid full attention. For better program outcomes assessment system, however, the followings are in more attention. Firstly, to establish program outcomes reflecting program goal. Secondly, to set up the detailed plans for analysis and quality improvement on program outcomes. Thirdly, to keep continuing efforts on curriculum update.

Evaluation of Airline Service Education Using the CIPP Model -focus on factors which influenced satisfaction and recommendation of the training program- (CIPP모형을 활용한 항공서비스교육 평가 -만족도 및 재추천에 미치는 요인을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate an airline service training program based on the CIPP model. Evaluation areas were divided into context, input, process, and product. We analyzed the factors which influenced program satisfaction and recommendation of the training program. Two hundred and one learners who participated in an airline service training program were selected for a survey. The results of this study are as follows. The factors which positively influenced training satisfaction were educational goals in context evaluation, interaction between learners and instructors, managing programs in process evaluation, and training performance in product evaluation. The factor which negatively influenced training satisfaction was human resources in input evaluation. On the other hand, the factors which positively influenced training recommendation were educational goal, assessing needs in context evaluation, interaction between learners and instructors, supporting programs in process evaluation, and training performance in product evaluation. The factor which negatively influenced training recommendation was assessing needs in context evaluation. The results of this study are expected to make an important contribution to the development of service training programs in airlines.

  • 교수학습센터는 교원의 전문성 향상과 교육정보화 기반 학교 교육 혁신을 실천하기 위한 중요한 목표를 수행하고 있다. 국내에는 대학에서부터 초등학교에 이르기까지 다양한 교수학습센터가 설치 운영되고 있다. 대상은 국가차원의 초중등 교육의 교수학습을 지원하는 중앙단위의 교수학습센터이다. 본 연구에서는 교수학습센터의 성과를 효과적이고 효율적으로 평가할 수 있는 성과 분석 모형 개발에 앞서 여러 성과평가모형의 이론 및 실천적 탐색을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구를 통해 교수학습센터의 성과평가에 관련된 이론적 관점과 실천적 관점의 모형탐색을 살펴볼 수 있을 것이며, 이를 통해 모형 개발과 성과 평가를 위한 실천 전략을 수립하는데 기여할 것이다.
