Currently robots are widely used in schools for educational purpose. With wide spread of robot-based education, it is known that major advantage of robot-based education is to enhance creativity and logical thinking of students. Although robots can be very useful tools for assisting students' study activities, there have not been lots of teaching-learning models for robot-based education.In this paper, a teaching-learning model is presented for robot-based education. The proposed model is designed based on constructivism. The proposed model consists of 6 stages: preparation, design, assembling, demonstration run, evaluation, and application & extension. The proposed model has the following characteristics. First, the proposed model is designed to enhance creativity and logical thinking ability of learners. Learners are supposed to be involved in self-directed activities and required to provide results based on their own ideas. Teachers are supposed to mediate students only if necessary. Second, learners are encouraged to participate in activity via diverse interaction. The interaction in this model includes learner-to-learner interaction, learner-to-teacher interaction, and learner-to-expert interaction. The proposed model encourages learners to solve the problem with cooperating each other. Also, teachers are supposed to guide students if necessary and observe and monitor behavior of students all the time. Third, motivation is provided in the beginning stage of the instruction. Fourth, in the proposed model, both study results and study process are equally important. In the model, study process is reviewed at the final stage.

This study attempts to understand the trend of research in the field of education contributed theses of the "Korea Academia-Industrial Society" in the 10 year period from 2006 to March, 2016, and provide the basic data needed for further research projects. It provides the direction for balanced academic research. The 143 theses contributed over this 10 year period were analyzed to determine the number of thesis per year, major of the researchers, number of co-authors, object of research, subject of research, and research method. It was found that the greatest number of theses were published in 2015. There were 77 researchers who majored in early childhood education and more than 64 researchers who majored in Education, while few researchers majored in other fields of study. The number of papers published by two co-authors was 51, that by one author was 44, and that by more than four researchers was 10. The numbers of papers whose object of research was infant and teacher education were 28 and 24, respectively. The number of papers whose subject of research was philosophy, history, psychology, or social science was 35, and that involving education was 27. There were 47 papers whose method of research was quantitative research. The most prevalent method of data analysis was difference verification. Through this analysis of the research trends, we expect to contribute to the balanced development of the academic world in Korea.
The classification is an important activity that is directly related to concept formation. Thus it will need to be made meaningful learning to classification through learner-centered teaching. But we doubts weather teaching and learning to the classification are reflected in the constructivist philosophy of 'learner-centered' well or not. The purpose of this study was to analyze critically the content of elementary textbooks and guidebook for teachers relating to the classification of angles and triangles in terms of constructivism. As a result, there is a problem in the classification of angles that are not provided a reasonable chance to set criteria by agreement of the communities. There is a problem in the classification of triangles that has the characteristics of radical development in terms of diversity. In addition, response of students was predicted like anyone who already acquired knowledge. And it has the shortcomings that the opportunity to have a choice and a discussion to hierarchical and partition classification are not provided. The followings are proposed based on such features; faithful reflection of 'Learner-centered' principle, careful prediction of student response, teaching that focus on process than results.
This study was aimed to understand the structures of preservice secondary school teachers' alternative conceptions on radioactive isotopes in the interior of earth. The structure of their conceptions were analyzed by the suggestions of Niaz (1988) based on the Lakatosian frameworks. The survey was carried out on a group of seventeen students who were major in science education. The research method was open-ended written questionnaire. The results of this study show that students had apparent alternative conceptions. The high temperature and pressure' explanation for radioactive decay in earth's interior had most import effects on their alternative conceptions. It was also intended to survey their conceptional change by our teaching strategies of the philosophy of science in order to construct science concepts.

The purpose of this study is to explore the research trend changes of convergence education since 2011 compared to the convergence education research that has been steadily continuing in science education. The trend in convergence education were investigated by comparing the number of publications, research subjects, research content, and topic linkages with previous studies, and using the network analysis method to check recent research trends. In the field of science education, the number of papers related to convergence education has been published more than 8.0% steadily, and it has been increasing since 2012, then decreasing again from 2015 and gradually increasing again from 2017. The subjects of study were high in elementary school students, while those in middle school, high school, and university students were low. While the number of in-service teachers increased, the number of pre-service teachers decreased, and the literature and public increased somewhat. In study content, effectiveness studies decreased, while development studies increased, and theoretical and perception studies appeared similar. In thematic linkage, the intra-science linkage was 23.9%, and the extra-science linkage was 76.1% and engineering/technology and art were high in extra-science linkage. In network analysis, elementary, science, STEAM, and program words have a high frequency of appearance and appear together with other words to lead the network. The educational implications of the research trend of convergence education will be more emphasized in the field of science education in the future, and in order to take root in the education field, research on secondary students should be more actively studied. In addition, it is necessary to move away from research on STEAM-centered program development and effects, and to increase research to establish the philosophical basis and theoretical of convergence education.

Further it examines mathematical dialogues between teachers and students from antiquity through the nineteenth century.

The purpose of this study is to find out the philosophy embedded in the newly revised 2007 Home Economics curriculum. Furthermore, it analyses the current situation and future tasks of textbooks in view of that philosophy. With this analysis it tries to give alternative teaching-learning strategies for making the best use of the existing textbooks. This study deals with the newly revised 2007 Home Economics curriculum. It also analyses the twelve sorts of textbooks for the first grade students in secondary schools, which are supposed to be based on that curriculum. As a research method this study takes a qualitative approach. As follows are the results of this study. First, in the character and objectives of the curriculum is embedded the critical science perspective of Home Economics curriculum. Second, the current situation and future tasks of the textbooks are analysed with the criteria by Yang, mi-kyung about textbook construction. And we have ascertained the following problems. The current textbooks are not well designed so that teachers have the appropriate orientation, encourage students to nurture the critical thinking abilities, and urge students to employ practical reasoning in the context of society, history and culture. Third, this study proposes five alternative teaching-learning strategies for making the best use of the current textbooks in order to tackle the above-mentioned problems.
The paper has focused on the 20 Iching-hexagrams from the eleventh t'ai[ ] to the final one of the Upper Book li[離] to examine the principles of learning and education involved in Xugua zhuan[序卦傳], the Ordinal Sequence of the Hexagrams as one among Ten Wings in I Ching. Some implications involved in this part of the Book of Change provides us with numerous teachings and educational principles. I try to concisely note the three teachings of the major argument as shown in the paper. Firstly, we should take the process of learning as the circular system of thought[環 相型], not as the linear system assuming the final destination like the Final Cause in the Aristotelian teleology. In the same token, the process of learning should be regarded as 'initiation', which has been initially adopted to justify the concept of education by R. S. Peters. As a circular system, there are two kinds of initiation. The one sense is 'crossing the threshold of illiteracy' seen as 'small initiation', which apprehends the points of argument in the previous paper, namely, on hexagrams from ch'ien[乾] to t'ai[泰]. The other sense is 'getting on the inside of the worthwhile activities', seen as 'Grand Initiation', which apprehend the present points of argument. Secondly, as shown in the paper, the Book enables us to recognize the process of learning as 'Seeing What Is There'. This requires us the Principles of Mean and Perfection, which are to be taken differently from the Western ones. For this a learner should always hold the endless self-reflection and attitude to re-examine the original intention of one's own, whilst he is involved in the task of learning. Finally, we should take the Principles of Change seriously, such as extremity-reversibility[物極必反] and the sense of conformity, in order that we can establish the proper educational principles to tackle the social domains of learning as well as the personal ones.

Genetic determinism of human behaviors is considered as a philosophical perspective that genes in humans determine biological as well as social traits. However, many biologists agree that human traits are determined by interactions between genes and genes, as well as between genes and environments. In this context, genetic determinism still affect ideas of the general public as well as research directions of biologists. According to Cl$\acute{e}$ment's KVP model (Cast$\acute{e}$ra & Cl$\acute{e}$ment, 2012), teachers' conceptions of genetic determinism influence students' concepts of genetics. This study intends to investigate teachers' conceptions on genetic determinism of human behaviors. For this end, a questionnaire adopted from a previous research (Cast$\acute{e}$ra & Cl$\acute{e}$ment, 2012) has been administered to 308 teachers including 151 pre-service and 157 in-service. Factor analysis has been conducted to extract major factors and one-way ANOVA has been employed to find out differences in extracted factors among different groups of teachers. Four factors have been extracted from 14 items of questionnaire, including factor 1, a perspective of genetic determinism of gender differences in intellectual ability, social status, and emotional traits; factor 2, a perspective of genetic determinism of individual differences in intellectual ability; factor 3, a perspective of genetic determinism of individual differences in biological immune function and behavioral trait; and factor 4, a perspective of genetic determinism of ethnic differences. From the results of One-way ANOVA among teacher groups on four factors, first, it has shown a significant difference in factor 1 (F=3.325, p=.006), factor 3 (F=3.320, p=.006) and factor 4 (F=4.325, p=.001) due to their subject matters. In post-hoc comparison there have been no significant difference between biology teachers and other teachers. It has also been found that there was a significant difference between pre-service and in-service teachers in factor 1 (t=-3.938, p=.000) and factor 4 (t=-3.121, p=.002) and in-service teachers are more genetic deterministic than pre-service teachers. Finally, different religions have no influence on teachers' conceptions of genetic determinism of human behaviors.
Science teachers need to understand what science is, how students learn, how to teach science effectively, and the rationale for their teaching methods. Along this line, this article discusses constructivist learning theory as an alternative to the traditional pedagogy and the origin of various versions of constructivism. Constructivism is defined and used in a variety of contexts including philosophical constructivism, constructivist research paradigm, sociological constructivism, and educational constructivism. Educational constructivism (or psychological constructivism) can be divided into three distinct versions (i.e., individual, radical, and social constructivism) depending on unique ontological and epistemological beliefs that underlie each version. Each version of educational constructivism supports different conceptions of science teaching and learning that are consistent with its specific ontological and epistemological beliefs. In this article, the main tenets of each version of educational constructivism are examined with regard to ontological beliefs, epistemological commitments, and pedagogical beliefs. In addition, two major criticisms on constructivist pedagogy as well as implications for research methods for each version are also discussed.
