The purpose of this study is to suggest a professional development system for elementary teachers who wish enhance mathematical teaching. The learning community on elementary mathematical teaching was composed of fourth grade teachers in a elementary school and an expert from education university. The activities was processed as establishing of objectives and contents of the learning community, discussing and seeing good lesson video, planning the lesson in collaboration with members, practicing the lesson, and reflecting on activities. To analyze these activities, record materials of meetings, lesson videos, member's writing were used. The results reported that the learning community lead teachers to search the method of professional development and showed itself as the effective media to enhance elementary mathematical teaching professionalism.

This study is to demonstrate that public libraries help community to become an active 'Community of Practice(CoP)'. In order to prove this hypothesis, 'Libraries Transforming Communities(LTC)' initiative of American Library Association is analyzed. Public libraries participating in LTC program solved problems of communities through making CoPs by librarians as a catalyst. People's recognition about public libraries is altered by the problem-solving practice. The followings are 4-level transforming relationship model of public library and community: Leadership Development for Librarian CoPs; Librarian CoPs for improving library services; Community CoPs with library for solving problems; Community as CoP.

농업－공동체 임업은 토지－나무－인간 사이의 관계를 폭넓게 포함하고 있으나 이 논문에서는 농업－공동체 임업활동이 베트남의 산지의 지속가능한 이용에 초점을 두고 있다. 농업－공동체 임업(AF와 CF)은 베트남에서 시급한 국가우선사항이 된 개발과 보전을 함께 고려할 수 있는 기능을 지닌 것으로 받아드려지고 있다. 베트남에서 AF와 CF를 동시에 지원할 수 있는 자원은 한정되어 있으며, 제약 사항은 위협적이고 시급한 상황이고, 황폐화가 진행될수록 복원은 어려워지는데, 농업의 생산성 감소에 따른 산촌주민들의 가족 부양을 위한 생태계 파괴도 가속화되고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 이 연구는 농업－공동체 임업활동이 베트남의 산지 자원의 지속가능한 이용에 있어서의 연관된 문제들, 발전에의 제한요인, 특히 정책 제한요인을 분석하고 베트남 농업－공동체 임업 개발의 방향을 제시하고자 하였다.

Public policies in regard to developing reading culture programs and the contents, and in running public libraries have been used to overcome existing social issues such as regional self-centeredness and cultural lagging. It means that public libraries are playing an important role to encourage communications within local communities. The purpose of this research is therefore to analyze the concept of local community, and develop reading culture and contents to reinforce the concept. This research also targeted to analyze the required contents in reading culture. Through the case study of "G" city, the research analyzed their citizenship and sense of local community and the requests. As a result, the requited subjects were for economics, unemployment, poverty, aging, and housing order. For the subjects of environment were environment pollution and energy order. For the subjects of human rights, disabilities, and multi-cultural were requested. For the subject of education, school violence, tutoring, and truly teaching were requested. Based on the requirements, 221 items of reading lists, DVD clips, and abstracts are developed as well as 4 programs of reading culture.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the development of social welfare network. The qualitative case study method was utilized from a communities of practice perspective. Depth interviews were conducted among 10 social workers of community welfare agencies who have practiced network activities. Data were analyzed with constant-comparative methods(Strauss and Corbin(1990)). The result are the followings; In incubation stage, the core theme was "collaboration for surmount overcoming difficulties from the bottom". In intergration stage, "acquirement of normative value basement" was emerged. "Reinforcement of solidarity" and "reconfirmation of identity" were drawn as core themes in muturation stage. There were core themes "construction of original image" and "shifting from private connection to public connection" in maintenance stage. Lastly stage a care theme of "qualitative transition" was emerged in transformation.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a sense of community and trust in charitable organization on donation motive and attitude. For this study, 901 adolescents were surveyed in four areas of Chungnam province. And data analysis was performed by frequency analysis, T-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling. The major results were as follow. First, it was found out that donation attitude was higher in female adolescents than male adolescents, and in high school students than middle school students. Second, there were positively significant correlation among a sense of community, trust in charitable organization, donation motive, and donation attitude. Third, as a result of SEM, donation motive was fully mediated between trust in charitable organization and donation attitude as well as between a sense of community and donation attitude. Lastly, the limitations of this study and policy implication for the activation of donation were presented.

In this study, the conceptual model which can integrate the social process and technological teaming in technological innovation is developed and applied to the analysis of the cases on the innovation of Korean mobile telecommunication industry. Korean mobile telecommunication Industry has two peculiar characteristics. First, there have been rapid technological loaming and catching-up processes in Korean mobile telecommunication which have never been in other newly industrializing countries. Second, CDMA is the only multiple access mode which has been used in cellular phone service. It is the purpose of this study to analyse how these characteristics have been emerged during past ten years based on the suggested model integrating the social process of technology selection and technological learning.

Korea is characterized by a high R&D expenditure rate to the GDP. The performance of R&D in Korea, however, hardly seems to be satisfied. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of strategic resources and community engineering on R&D performance in bio-tech industry in Korea. The results of the study show strategic resources and community engineering are determinants of technological outcome. The strategic resources have a Significant positive effect on economic impact whereas community engineering has no Significant effect. In addition, the study results reveal that there is no moderating effect of strategic resources on the relation between community engineering and R&D performance. The major limitations of the study are on the measure of the variables.

This study aims to analyse the relationship between the sense of community and resident online participation. To solve a variety of social problems in localities, both resident participation and the sense of community have been getting more important. Online voting is a project that is being implemented by the city of Seoul to expand the participation of residents. We surveyed residents living in the apartment complex in Seoul that was participating in with the pilot program for online voting. The empirical analysis shows the sense of community was, indeed, positively related to resident online participation. In particular, shared emotional connection, a component of the sense of community, was the most important factor for the resident online participation.

This study investigated the effectiveness of the learning community for the development of convergence on self-directed learning and problem-solving. One hundred ninety-nine university students participated in the study. In specific, one hundred twenty-three among them participated learning community program at the center for teaching and learning for nine weeks while the others were are not as a control group. Pre-post survey with 62 items was conducted regarding self-directed learning(35 items) and problem-solving(27 items). To analyze the data statistically, ANCOVA(Analysis of Covariate) was used. As results, university students in learning community program showed significant difference in all areas of the survey. In other words, university students in learning community program improved self-directed learning and problem solving more than those who were in the control group. Suggestions and ideas of further studies were discussed.
