A Storage and Computation Efficient RFID Distance Bounding Protocol (저장 공간 및 연산 효율적인 RFID 경계 결정 프로토콜)

  • Recently many researchers have been proved that general RFID system for proximity authentication is vulnerable to various location-based relay attacks such as distance fraud, mafia fraud and terrorist fraud attacks. The distance-bounding protocol is used to prevent the relay attacks by measuring the round trip time of single challenge-response bit. In 2008, Munilla and Peinado proposed an improved distance-bounding protocol applying void-challenge technique based on Hancke-Kuhn's protocol. Compare with Hancke-Kuhn's protocol, Munilla and Peinado's protocol is more secure because the success probability of an adversary has (5/8)n. However, Munilla and Peinado's protocol is inefficient for low-cost passive RFID tags because it requires large storage space and many hash function computations. Thus, this paper proposes a new RFID distance-bounding protocol for low-cost passive RFID tags that can be reduced the storage space and hash function computations. As a result, the proposed distance-bounding protocol not only can provide both storage space efficiency and computational efficiency, but also can provide strong security against the relay attacks because the adversary's success probability can be reduced by $(5/8)^n$.

SIA-LVC : Scalable Interworking Architecture for Military L-V-C Training Systems Based on Data Centric Middleware (SIA-LVC: 데이터 중심 미들웨어 기반 확장성 있는 국방 L-V-C 훈련체계 연동 아키텍쳐)

  • A Military L-V-C system consists of distributed complex systems integrating Live systems working on physical wall-clock time, Virtual systems ruled by virtually pseudo realtime events on a computer, and Constructive systems only depending on the causal relationship between the continuous events. Recently many needs for L-V-C training systems are increasing in order to achieve the maximum training effects with low costs. While theoretical/logical researches or only partially interworking technologies have been proposed, there are few perfect interworking architectures for totally interoperating L-V-C systems in world-wide. In this paper, we design and develop a novel interworking architecture based on data centric middleware for the consistent global time with the same states on the entire L-V-C data and events by means of integrating the heterogeneous distributed middleware standards of each L-V-C system. In addition, simulated L-V-C systems based on real systems will be used for the efficiency and performance of the developed interworking architecture.

  • Most of intelligent services provided today work based on the users' location. Numerous devices for indoor localization services have their own characteristic functions and operating systems, we need the interoperability and diversity of middleware to connect and control these devices. The indoor localization method using existing inertial sensors are relatively less efficient because of additional cost according to the size of space. Accordingly, the indoor user localization method proposed in this study supports integrated services using OSGi framework, an open source project, and solves problems in inertial sensor based on accurate distance to a specific object measured using ultrasonic sensor. Furthermore, it reduces errors resulting from difference in response rate by adding the reliability item.

  • As online community was revitalized, the internet became the second space for people's everyday life. People enter into a connection with other on-line members and they maintain and extend their relationships. Such relationships can be analyzed and visualized with social network analysis. The method oftentimes envisions the structural elements of complex social life. The study aims at visualizing the relationships among the Cyworld users and designs an application "Blow Blow Your Pinwheel", the main purpose of this application is visualizing social relationships between ego and '1chons' which is a concept of friendship in Cyworld. Designing such an application, the study focuses on closeness of relationships which we think is composed of 1)proximity 2)similarity, 3)familiarity, and 4)reciprocity. The study used these concepts in measuring the strength of relationship between ego and other 1chons(friends). Specifically, we devised survey questionnaires which asked users to evaluate the importance of the above factors of closeness, and implemented the result in calculating the strength of the relationship between ego and other by giving weights for each factor. These measurements then were applied in visualizing the relationships in the application, we designed. Through the application, we can compare on-line relationships with off-line relationships and attempt for the new approach of Social Networks.

  • 호안은 유수로부터 제방과 하안을 보호하는 구조물로 태풍 또는 집중호우로 인한 홍수로부터의 안정성이 확보되어야 한다. 적정한 호안공법 또는 제품의 선정을 위해서는 유속, 소류력 등이 반영된 수리 안정성 검토가 필요하나 현재 국내에는 이와 관련한 객관적인 평가나 시험 기준이 제시되어있지 않기 때문에 국내에서는 실제 수리실험을 통한 호안제품 및 공법의 수리학적 안정성을 제공하는 경우는 찾아보기 어려운 것이 현실이다. 본 연구는 호안공법 중 친환경적 재료를 사용하여 개발된 스톤매트리스 호안공법의 수리적 안정성을 검토하기 위해 수행되었다. 스톤매트리스 공법은 상부망과 하부망의 체결을 통해 돌을 군체로 일체화 시킴으로써 치수 안정성이 매우 뛰어나며, 충분한 식생공간을 확보한 공법으로 재료의 2차 변형 방지가 가능하며 안전한 군체 유지가 가능한 공법이다. 이러한 공법에 대한 안정성 검토를 위한 실규모 실험은 안동 하천연구센터에서 수행하였다. 실험에 사용된 수로는 8°의 경사를 갖는 급경사수로에서 수행되었다. 수로의 제원은 폭 3m, 길이 30m 의 직사각형 형태의 직선수로로 이루어져 있다. 시험체는 실규모로 제작되며 2m × 10m 의 제원을 갖는 별도의 트레이에 시공되어 실험시 크레인을 이용하여 실험수로에 안착시킨다. 수리 안정성 실험은 실험대상유량을 단계별로 나누어 점차적으로 증가시키며, 시험체의 이탈, 파괴 등의 큰 변화가 발생하였을 경우 실험을 종료한다. 수리량 측정은 유속측정, 수위관측 등으로 이루어지며, 재료의 변형은 3D스캐너를 이용하여 변위를 검토하였다. 총 3회에 걸친 실험결과 실험수로에서 발생가능한 최대유량인 4.34cms 조건에서 실험체 바닥에서의 소류력은 약 300N/m2 의 소류력이 발생하는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 재료의 수직변위는 최대 1.8mm로 계측기 오차범위에 근접한 수치를 보이는 것으로 실험체의 이동이나 석재의 파손은 발생하지 않은 것으로 나타났다.

Numerical Analyses on Moment Resisting Behaviors of Electric Pole Foundations According to Their Shapes (기초형상에 따른 전철주기초 모멘트 저항거동에 관한 수치해석 연구)

  • Electric pole foundations for overhead catenary system of railroad should be designed so that they may resist significant overturning moment but relatively small vertical forces. Also they should have proper shapes to be installed at restricted narrow areas adjacent to railroad track. In this paper the moment responses of rectangular pole foundations according to their shapes were investigated numerically. A three-dimensional finite element method was developed and verified so that the numerical behaviors of the foundation resisting the overturning moments were compared reasonably well with those from an existing real-scale load test. The influences of aspect ratio, varying section with depth and loading directions for rectangular section were investigated using the developed numerical method. From the numerical results, the optimized shapes of pole foundation for more effective and economic installation adjacent to railroad track are proposed.

Applicability examinations of induced drainage system for reduction of uplift pressure in underpass structures: Numerical study (지하차도 부력저감을 위한 유도배수공법의 적용성 검토: 수치해석적 연구)

  • Urban underground structures at low ground elevations (i.e. shallow substructures) unlike typical tunnel structures are subjected to low overburden and high water pressures. This often causes the underground structures to become damaged. Various conventional methods for the urban underpass structures such as dead weight increasement, round anchors, and tension piles, are significantly conservative and provok concerns about the costly, time-consuming installation process. Recently, permanent drainage system becomes to widely use for supplementing the conventional method's shortcomings, but, it is applied without the considerations for ground conditions and water table. In this study, therefore, numerical analyses are performed with various parameters such as groundwater level, wall height, and ground conditions in order to establish design guidelines for induced drainage system which is a kind of the permanent drainage method constructed at the Y-area. According to the numerical results, the induced drainage system is very effective in reducing the uplift pressure that acts on the base of underpass structures.

Tunnel pillar reinforcement effect using PC stranded wire and groutings (PC강연선 및 그라우팅을 이용한 터널 필라부 보강효과)

  • With the concentration of the population in the city center and the saturation of the structures on the ground, the development of the underground structures becomes important and the construction of an adjoining tunnel that can reduce the overall problems is respected. In addition, it is necessary to apply the reinforcement construction method for the pillar part of the adjacent tunnel that can secure stability, economy and workability of the site. In this study, the tunnel pillar reinforcement method using prestress and grouting was reviewed. There are various reinforcement methods that can compensate for the problems of the side tunnel, but as the tunnel pillar construction method using prestress and grouting is judged to be excellent in field applicability, stability and economic feasibility, theoretical and numerical analysis of the actual behavior mechanism are conducted. Numerical analysis is divided into PC stranded wire + steel pipe reinforcement grouting + prestress (Case 1), pillar part tie bolt reinforcement (Case 2), pillar part non-reinforcement (Case 3) under the same ground conditions, and the maximum value of the celling displacement, internal displacement, and member force, the stability was confirmed. Through numerical analysis, it was confirmed that Case 1 which reinforced the PC stranded wire, was the best construction method and if it is verified and supplemented through field experiments later, it will be possible to derive superior results in terms of displacement control and member force than the currently applied reinforcement method was judged.

Fast Warping Prediction using Bit-Pattern for Motion Estimation (비트패턴을 이용한 고속 워핑 예측)

  • In this paper, we propose a fast warping prediction using bit-pattern for motion estimation. Because of the spatial dependency between motion vectors of neighboring node points carrying motion information, the optimization of motion search requires an iterative search. The computational load stemming from the iterative search is one of the major obstacles for practical usage of warping prediction. The motion estimation in the proposed algorithm measures whether the motion content of the area is or not, using bit-pattern. Warping prediction using the motion content of the area make the procedure of motion estimation efficient by eliminating an unnecessary searching. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce more 75% iterative search while maintaining performances as close as the conventional warping prediction.

A Case Study on the Design and Construction of a 2-arch Tunnel with Varying Section (2-아치 변단면터널의 설계 및 시공사례 연구)

  • This paper describes the design and construction of a 2-arch tunnel with varying section. This new design has advantages of 2-arch tunnels, which is rather expensive, but is still economically competitive compared to parallel tunnels. Economic analysis was also conducted. To secure the stability of the varying section tunnel, excavated part was reinforced by tie-bolts and RRS, and 2-arch part was supported by EPS blocks and concrete walls. Stability of the pillar was theoretically analyzed and also examined by numerical simulations for various widths. Displacement monitoring was conducted and results were compared with numerical results. Economic analysis showed reductions in construction cost and period by 11% and 10 months respectively.
