A Reduction Effect in Noise Reflection by Different Shapes of Soundproofing-panel (도로소음원에 대한 방음패널 형상별 반사소음 저감효과)

  • With rapid urbanization, the volume of traffic in urban area has been significantly increased. This in turn led to problem which can be described as Road Traffic Noise. Currently, to alleviate the road traffic noise damage, a demand for installation of soundproofing walls is rising. Among different shapes of soundproof walls being installed, the reflection-type acoustical insulation panel is highly drawing attentions of residents due to the fact that it does not obstruct their field of vision in contrast with the opaque acoustical insulation panel. On the other hand, improving the soundproofing wall of the reflection-type acoustical insulation barrier panel needs to be focused on since it has a possibility to cause a secondary damage by reflected sounds. Therefore, in this research, study has been carried out to improve the forms in order to minimize travelling of reflected sounds through changing the frontal surface shape and geometrical shape of the reflection-type soundproofing panel. A result from comparison between the normal reflection-type soundproofing panel and the improved soundproofing panel, with reduction effects in the noise reflection, showed that the curved type of soundproofing panel has an impact on reducing the noise up to 1.5 dB. Furthermore, from the research conducted, it appears that the increase and decrease in the reflected sounds can be changeable depending on various design factors. Thus, it turns out that the study shows a potential possibility to develop a reduction technology of the reflected sounds pertaining to overall condition on the soundproofing walls.

  • 두 가지 어류 이동용 여수로 설계안에 대하여 유한요소법 기반의 레블�V 기법을 이용하여 흐름을 모의하고 적용성을 검토하였다. 첫 번째 설계안은 저수지에서 여수로로 직각 형태의 유입부를 가지고 있으며, 두 번째 설계안은 부드러운 곡면 형태의 유입부를 가지고 있다. 수치해석 결과를 자유수면의 위치, 압력분포 등의 특성을 중심으로 여수로 수리모형 실험 결과와 비교하였다. 그 결과, 직각 형태의 유입부를 갖는 설계안의 경우, 유입부의 응력분포의 영향으로, 평탄하지 않은 자유수면형과 압력분포를 보이는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. 반면에 곡선형태의 유입부를 갖는 여수로의 경우에는 수면형과 압력분포에서 완만한 변화를 보이는 것이 관측되었다. 여수로 정상부에서 대기압보다 작은 부압의 분포는 두 가지 설계안 모두 비슷한 분포를 보였다. 여수로의 출구부에서는 측면부에서는 와류의 영향으로 인하여 수면의 상승을 관찰할 수 있었다. 결론으로서 곡면 유입부 형태의 여수로가 완만한 천이역을 갖고 있으며, 어류이동측면에서 유리함을 확인할 수 있었다.

Flood Alert and Warning Scheme Based on Intensity-Duration-Quantity (IDQ) Curve considering Antecedant Moisture Condition (선행함수지수를 고려한 강우강도-지속시간-홍수량(IDQ) 곡선기반의 홍수예경보기법)

  • The methodology of utilizing Intensity-Duration-flood Quantity (IDQ) curve for flood alert and warning was introduced and its performance was evaluated. For this purpose the lumped parameter model was calibrated and validated for gauged basin data set and the index precipitation equivalent to alert and warning flood was estimated. The index precipitation and IDQ curves associated by three different Antecedant Moisture Conditions (AMCs) are made provision for various possible flood scenarios. The test basin is Wonju-cheon basin ($94.4km^2$) located in Gangwon province, Korea. The IDQ curves corresponding to alert (50% of design flood level) and warning (70% of design flood level) level was estimated using the Clark unit hydrograph based lumped parameter model. The performance evaluation showed 0.704 of POD (Probability of Detection), 0.136 of FAR (False Alarm Ratio), and 0.633 of CSI (Critical Success Index), which is improved from the result of IDQ with single fixed AMC.

Inelastic Buckling Behavior of Simply Supported I-Beam under Transverse Loading (횡방향 하중을 받는 I형강 단순보의 비탄성 좌굴거동)

  • In this paper, the inelastic buckling behavior of the beam under uniform bending was investigated using the energy-based method, which can tackle problems in fourth order eigenvalue. The pattern of residual stress was not available to satisfy the I-sections manufactured in Korea. however; therefore, the well-known polynomial and simplified pattern of residual stress was adopted in this study. The inelastic lateral-distortional buckling behavior of the beam with I-sections manufactured in Korea was investigated. The study was then extended to the inelastic lateral-torsional buckling of the beam by minimizing the out-of-plane web distortion. The inelastic lateral-torsional buckling results obtained in this paper were compared with the prediction of allowable bending stress given in the Korean steel designers' manual (1995). Results showed that the importance of inelastic lateral-distortional buckling did not arise for beams under uniform bending. Likewise, the design method in KSDM (1995) was proven to bo too conservative for intermediate and short spans of beams without intermediate bracing.

Large Deflection and Elastoplastic Analysis of the Plane Framed Structure Using Isoparametric Curved Beam Element (Isoparametric 곡선(曲線) 보요소(要素)를 이용한 평면(平面)뼈대 구조물(構造物)의 대변형(大變形) 및 탄소성(彈塑性) 유한요소해석(有限要素解析))

  • This paper presents a geometrically non-linear and elastoplastic F.E. formulation using a total Lagrangian approach for the two dimensional isoparametric curved beam elements. The beam element is derived by using plane stress elements. The basic element geometry is constructed using the coordinates of the nodes on the element center line and the nodal point normals. The element displacement field is described using two translations of the node on the center line and a rotation about the axes normal to the plane containing the center line of the element. The layered approach is used for the elastoplastic analysis of the plane framed structure with the arbitrary cross section. The iterative load or displacement incremental method for non-linear finite element analysis of the frame structure is used. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the behavior and the accuracy of the proposed beam element for geometric and elastoplastic non-linear applications. Comparisons made with present theory and other published data show that tilt' beam element products accurate results with good convergence characteristics.

LIGHT CORVES AND ROCHE CONFIGURATIONS OF NEAR-CONTACT BINARY AX DRACONIS (근접촉쌍성 AX Draconis의 광도곡선과 로쉬모형)

  • We completed the light curves of near-contact binary system AX Dra for 11 nights from March 2001 to May using the 61-cm reflector and VR filters at Sobaeksan Optical Astronomy Observatory. From our observations, seven new times of minimum light (three timings to. primary eclipse, four. for. secondary) and the light elements consistent with recent observations were determined. Using the Wilson-Devinney binary code and the q-search method, we analyzed our VR light curves for various Roche configurations and mass ratios. As the results, we found the eclipsing binary AX Dra to be the FO Vir-type near-contact binary system interpreted as a detached or a semi-detached system, with the secondary filling its Roche lobe and the primary almost. Unlike the statistical study(Shaw 1994) of the FO Vir-type near-contact binary system, our VR light curves showed the O'Connell effect of all the same type and it's dimensions was about $0^{m}.008$.

  • This paper examines the applicability of the Width Function Instantaneous Unit Hydrograph (WFIUH) with a case study of Cheongmi River in South Korea. The parameter values of WFIUH can be physically determined compared to the lumped hydrologic models, which are typically accompanied by parameter estimation procedures with gage records. Assuming uniformly distributed rainfall, the hydrographs obtained with the WFIUH show good agreement with observed data and also the results from HEC-1. A simple investigation of the effect from the rainstorm movement with the WFIUH demonstrates the ability of the proposed model and the need to consider the rainstorm movement effect on the resulting hydrographs for prediction purposes.

  • In this study, the effect of nozzle performance according to the selection of the center line equation. Three of S-type nozzles and three of double S-type nozzles were designed using the curve equation and design parameters, and the nozzle shielding performance was evaluated using the shielding ratio definition. In order to analyze the internal flow of the nozzle, the characteristics of the velocity distribution and pressure distribution were studied, and the nozzle performance was evaluated through the total thrust ratio(f) and the nozzle insulation efficiency coefficient(η). On the other hand, the centerline with a sharply change in curvature at the entrance has a low nozzle performance and a high shielding rate. The double S-type nozzle is excellent nozzle performance and shielding rate by using a smooth centerline at the first curvature.

  • 개망초로부터 색소를 추출, 분말화하여 FT-IR 분석을 행하고, 모섬유에 대한 염색조건과 매염이 염착량(K/S값) 및 색상에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 또한 염색한 시료의 견뢰도를 측정하여 실용성을 확인하였다. 개망초 색소는 모섬유에 높은 친화력을 보였으며, Langmuir형의 등온흡착곡선을 보여 염착이 주로 이온결합에 의해 이루어지는 것으로 나타났다. 염착략이 pH 3.0에서 최대가 되었으나 강한 산성조건은 강도 저하를 비롯한 섬유에 손상을 주기 때문에 pH를 조절하지 않고 염색하였다. 피염물의 색상은 모두 Y 계열을 나타내었다. 철매염 처리한 경우를 제외하고 매염처리가 염착량 증진에 미치는 영향은 그다지 크지 않았으며, 매염제 종류를 달리하여 염색한 모섬유의 색상은 크롬과 주석으로 매염한 경우 YR 계열을 나타내고 그 밖의 매염제에 의해서는 Y 계열의 색상을 나타내어 큰 변화는 없었다. 매염처리하지 않은 시료의 견뢰도는 매우 양호하였으며 매염처리가 견뢰도 증진에 미치는 영향은 크지 않았다.

  • The differential equations governing free, in-plane vibrations of circular curved beams with elastic springs at beth ends, including the effects of axial deformation, rotatory inertia and shear defamation. are solved numerically using the corresponding boundary conditions. The lowest three natural frequencies are calculated over a wide range of non-dimensional system parameters, the radial, tangential and rotational spring parameters, the subtended angle, the slenderness ratio and the shear parameter.
