A simulation of high efficiently thin film solar cell with buffer layer (버퍼층 삽입을 통한 박막 태양전지의 고효율화 시뮬레이션)

  • a-Si 박막 태양전지는 a-Si:H을 유리 기판 사이에 주입해 만드는 태양전지로, 뛰어난 적용성과 경제성을 지녔으나 c-Si 태양전지에 비해 낮은 변환 효율을 보이는 단점이 있다. 변환 효율을 높이기 위한 연구 방법으로는 a-Si 박막 태양전지 단일cell 제작 시 high Bandgap을 가지는 p-layer를 사용함으로 높은 Voc와 Jsc의 향상에 기여할 수 있는데, 이 때 p-layer의 defect 증가와 activation energy 증가도 동시에 일어나 변환 효율의 증가폭을 감소시킨다. 이를 보완하기 위해 본 실험에서는 p-layer에 기존의 p-a-Si:H를 사용함과 동시에 high Bandgap의 buffer layer를 p-layer와 i-layer 사이에 삽입함으로써 그 장점을 유지하고 높은 defect과 낮은 activation energy의 영향을 최소화하였다. ASA 시뮬레이션을 통해 a-Si:H보다 high Bandgap을 가지는 a-SiOx 박막을 사용하여 p-type buffer layer의 두께를 2nm, Bandgap 2.0eV, activation energy를 0.55eV로 설정하고, i-type buffer layer의 두께를 2nm, Bandgap 1.8eV로 설정하여 삽입하였을 때 박막 태양전지의 변환 효율 10.74%를 달성할 수 있었다. (Voc=904mV, Jsc=$17.48mA/cm^2$, FF=67.97).

Vegetation Structure of the Hyangjeokbong in the Deogyusan National Park (덕유산국립공원 향적봉 일대 식생구조 연구)

  • This study was carried out to classify vegetation structure of the Hyangjeokbong in the Deogyusan National Park using the gradient analysis and phytosociological method. The vegetation was classified into Quercus mongolica community(Rhododendron schlippenbachii subcommunity, typical subcommunity), Q. serrata community, Q. variabillis community, Pinus densiflora community, Cornus controversa community, Fraxinus mandshurica community and Taxus cuspidata community. Ecological characteristics such as species composition, layer structure, vegetation ratio, and the distribution of individual trees by DBH(diameter at breast height) were significantly different among communities. The order of important value of the forest community with DBH 2cm above plants was Q. mongolica(81.2), F. mandshurica, Q. serrata, P. densiflora, Acer pseudosieboldianum, Q. variabillis, Rhododendron schlippenbachii, C. controversa, T. cuspidata. Distribution of DBH of Q. mongolica and Q. serrata had suggesting a continuous domination of these species over the other species for the time being. In contrast, F. mandshurica appeared limited to the valley of the sheet and a higher frequency of young individuals, suggesting a continuous domination of these species the development of a climax forest terrain. P. densiflora and T. cuspidata had suggesting a continuous domination of these species over the other species for the time being in maintain. Q. variabilis and C. controversa had a formality distribution, suggesting a continuous domination of these species over the other species for the time being. This study examined the correlation between each community and the environment according to DCCA ordination. The Q. mongolica community and T. cuspidata community predominated in the highest elevation habitats which had few moisture, Ca and in the low pH. The Q. serrata community mainly occurred in the low elevation habitats which had many moisture. P. densiflora community predominated in the middle elevation and south-facing slope habitats which had few moisture, Ca and in the low pH. F. mandshurica community predominated in the low elevation habitats which had many moisture, Ca and pH.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the characteristics of extracellular cellulase and xylanase from 4 selected different species, such as enzyme activity and stability by pH, temperature and metal ions, for application into enzymatic deinking system. The optimal temperature and pH for enzyme activity of Bacillus pumilus I, B. subtilis I, B. pumilus II and B. subtilis II were mainly $40{\sim}60^{\circ}C$ and pH $6.0{\sim}7.0$, respectively. Certain metal ions, calcium and cobalt, elevated enzyme activity, even though there were different results of enzyme activities based on various metal ions in 4 different species. With these results we suggest that enzymatic deinking system should be proceed at $50^{\circ}C$ with neutral pH condition.

Study of High-k Sensing Membranes for the High Quality Electrolyte Insulator Semiconductor pH Sensor (High-k 감지막 평가를 통한 고성능 고감도의 Electrolyte-Insulator-Semiconductor pH센서 제작)

  • We fabricated the electrolyte-insulator-semiconductor (EIS) devices with various high-k sensing membranes to realize a high quality pH sensor. The sensing properties of each high-k dielectric material were compared with those of conventional $SiO_2$ (O) and $SiO_2/Si_3N_4$ (ON) membranes. As a result, the high-k sensing membranes demonstrated better sensitivity and stability than the O and ON membranes. Especially, the $SiO_2/HfO_2$ (OH) stacked layer showed a high sensitivity and the $SiO_2/Al_2O_3$ (OA) stacked layer exhibited an excellent chemical stability. In conclusion, the high-k sensing membranes are expected to have excellent operating characteristics in terms of sensitivity and chemical stability for the biosensor application.

  • Microbial desulfurization using a biocatalyst which is capable of selectively liberating sulfur from HDS-refractory organic sulfur compounds is an alternative biotechnology to the current technology of hydrodesulfurization. The system used in the experiments is a two phase system consisting of 0.1%(w/v) dibenzothiophene in hexadecane as model oil and a mineral medium for cell growth. Rhodococcus rhodochrous IGTS8, a desulfurization strain, was grown in flask culture at different oil phase ratio with 10% and 30%. Most of the dibenzothiophene was converted to 2-hydroxybiphenyl when the oil ratio was 10%, but wasn't when the oil ratio was 30%. However, the total degraded DBT amounts were similar. In experiments of adjusting pH to improve the efficiency of degradation, the amounts of degraded DBT were increased by 50%. When the modified medium which has two-fold nutrients than those of minimal salt medium was used, the amounts of degraded DBT were increased by 32%. When both of the methods were used, the efficiency was increased by 136%.

Chitosanase를 생산 ${\cdot}$ 분비 하는 Bacillus sp. HSB-21의 분리 및 효소 특성

  • In order to obtain microbial endochitosanase for enzymatic production of chitooligosaccharides from chitosan, we screened four microbes from soil and selected. Bacillus sp. HSB-21 which showed highest activity. Chitosanase, produced from isolating microbe, was endo-type and molecular mass of the enzyme was estimated as 21,000 by active staining. Its optimum pH and temperature were 5.5 and $50^{\circ}C$, respectively. It was stable in the pH range of 3.0 to 8.0 and up to $40^{\circ}C$. It did not produce chitomonosaccharide and produced chitooligosaccharide ranging from chitobiose to chitooctaose as major end-products from chitosan. The chitosanase from Bacillus sp. HSB-21 can be applicable to enzymatic production of chitooligosaccharide which has high degree of polymerization .

  • Removal rate of nitrogen compound containing swine wastewater was 97 percent in case of high loading rate treatment of swine wastewater at studies for process development using soil microorganism. Minimum hydraulic retention time(HRT) for nitrification process was 11 days and solid retention time was 25 days. Nitrification was between 5 and 11 days but this time $NO_2-N$ was remained. Reactor condition was injured to nitrosomonas according to pH, $NO_2\;^--N$, and $NH_3\;^--N$ concentration but this condition was recover to pH controlling.

무전해 도금방식을 이용한 PET 필름 위 선택적 Ni-Cu 박막의 특성분석

  • 최근 이동통신 LED 에너지 자동차 산업분야에서 제품의 고기능화 고성능화를 위한 신소재 개발 및 친환경적인 신공정 개발에 있어, PI 또는 PET와 같은 유연성 소재 위에 선택적 패턴 도금 기술, 고기능성 나노/복합 도금 등이 주목 받고 있다. 또한 전 세계적으로 유해물질의 수 출입 규제 움직임이 강력하게 제기되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 유연성 소재인 PET 위에 친환경적 방법으로 구리를 선택적으로 도금하기 위한 실험을 진행하였다. 준비된 PET 필름 위에 Ag paste를 Screen Printing법을 이용하여 Ag 전극을 패턴하고, 그 위에 무전해 도금방식을 이용하여 Ni과 Cu가 도금 되도록 하였다. Ni 무전해 도금은 pH6.5, 65도에서 시행되었으며, Cu 무전해 도금은 환경규제물질인 포름알데히드 대신에 차아인산나트륨을 사용하여 70도에서, 중성근처의 pH 농도(pH7과 pH8)에서 시행되었다. 이들 다층 박막에 대해 X-ray diffraction (XRD), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope), XPS (X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy) 등을 이용하여 물리-화학적/전기적 특성들을 이용하여 조사 분석하였다.

Ammonia Nitrogen Removal in Wastewater Using Microwave Irradiation (마이크로웨이브를 이용한 폐수 내 고농도 암모니아성질소 제거)

  • Industrial use of microwave heating as an alternative to conventional heating is becoming popular mainly due to dramatic reductions in reaction time. Therefore, this work experimentally determined the effect of microwave irradiation on ammonia nitrogen removal in wastewater. The effects of air flow rate (0.3~0.9 L/min), treatment temperature ($70{\sim}100^{\circ}C$), and initial pH (9~11) were characterized. As the air flow rate increased from 0.3 to 0.9 L/min, the ammonia removal rate constant (k) increased from -0.6642 to $-1.0755min^{-1}$. As the temperature increased from 70 to $100^{\circ}C$, k increased -0.0338 to $-1.0755min^{-1}$. As the pH increased from 9 to 11, k increased -0.2443 to $-1.0755min^{-1}$. Ammonia removal was strongly dependent on temperature and pH rather than air flow rate. The results show that microwave irradiation is effective in ammonia nitrogen removal in wastewater due to advantages of fast and effective processing.

Separation of Light Rare Earth Elements by Solvent Extraction with a Mixture of Cationic and Tertiary Amine (양이온 추출제와 아민의 혼합추출제에 의한 경희토류금속의 분리)

  • Rare earth elements with high purity are demanded for the manufacture of advanced materials. Light rare earth elements are contained in domestic monazite and Ni-MH batteries. In this paper, solvent extraction to separate the light rare earth elements from hydrochloric acid leaching solutions of these resources was discussed. A mixture of cationic and tertiary amine shows synergistic effect on the extraction of LREEs and the extent of pH decrease during extraction is reduced. The effect of solution pH on the extraction and synergism was reviewed. Acquisition of the operation data with mixer-settler on the separation of LREEs by this mixture is necessary to develop a process.
