  • The application of robot technology on construction sites is recognized an effective solution to the problems caused by labor shortage on the construction industry, and relevant studies are being carried out increasingly. Automatic construction system for frames of high-rise building was developed in Japan in 1990's. Practical use o F the system, however, was failed due to inefficiency Now, we are developing economic and practical automatic construction system that is lighter and suitable for building construction In Korea. This study has discussed developing the system of construction factory and climbing control system, which is the core technology of the automatic construction system in Korea.

  • The construction industry is still more labor-intensive than other manufacturing industries. Because of that, it is recognize as a 3D industry. So, many researches to solve it increase to apply robots as to construction sites. Robots are recognized to alleviate the problem of construction industry as the alternative. Therefore in this study, automatic construction system for high-rise building based on robots is developed with high profit as a better research than Japanese it which have gone in advance of robot technology in the world.

Synchronous Motion Control of Multi-Climbing Hydraulic Robots for High-Rise Building Construction Automation (고층건물 시공자동화를 위한 다중 클라이밍 유압로봇의 운동 동기제어)

  • Multi-climbing hydraulic robots are used to lift construction factory (CF) synchronously for applications in the automation of a high-rise building construction. In this study, synchronous motion controller is proposed for the hydraulic robots, whose strategy is not only to make each robot follow the reference path basically by sliding-mode control, but also to synchronize motions of two adjacent cent robots consecutively by cross-coupled control technique. Simulations are performed by using SIMULINK for a system similar to a practical application that includes unbalance in CF and wind disturbance. The results show that the proposed controller significantly reduces synchronous errors, compared to the individual controller for each hydraulic robot.

  • Construction automation and robotics are being taken notice as an alternative to improve productivity and quality. Reflecting on these purpose, automation system, called RCA(Robotic-crane based Construction Automation) system, is developed and have been verified through a pilot project recently in Korea. To apply the RCA system in high-rise building effectively, each management factors of element technologies in the system is derived and assessed critical factor. The purpose of this study, management factors of element techniques, consisted of RCA system, is classified through questionnaires/interviews targeting system developers and construction managers in pilot project site, and critical factors is selected using AHP.

  • As robotic technologies have become more actively utilized to automate many construction tasks, they have been able to improve the construction productivity, quality, and workers safety on site. A new system, of which Robot-based Construction Automation (RCA), is currently being developed, and RCA systems consist of Construction Factory(CF), Automated Bolting Robots, and Climbing Hydraulic Robot. Especially. Climbing Hydraulic robot system is very important to RCA systems because of function as lifting the Construction Factory. In this paper, We validate safety of Climbing Hydraulic Robot system before application for real building construction.

  • 최근 우리나라뿐만 아니라 전 세계적으로 고층건물의 규모가 점점 커짐에 따라 고층 건물은 초기단계에서부터 막대한 자원과 비용이 발생하고 도중에 설계변경이 어렵거나 불가능한 경우가 많아졌다. 때문에 초기구조설계과정과 실시설계, 시공과정에서의 차이를 최대한 줄이는 것이 사업의 경제성을 좌우할 만큼 중요한 비중을 차지한다. 이러한 정보를 제대로 관리할 초고층 BIM 정보환경이 구축된다면 발주자 설계자 시공자가 얻게 될 이익은 결코 적지 않을 것이다. S-BIM 프로세스 상에서 철골조를 형성하기 위해서는 세 단계의 프로세스를 거치는데 구조 해석 및 설계 단계, 구조 해석 및 설계 결과 데이터베이스 구축, 철골구조설계 및 형상화 모듈에 의한 부재 생성이다. 본 연구에서는 구조해석 및 설계(Analysis and Design, A&D) 데이터베이스를 C#코딩을 통해 형상, 길이 및 위치 정보를 결정하는 데 필요한 정보를 모듈 상에 불러오고, 이를 이용한 부재의 치수, 길이, 좌표 값을 산정하였다. 모듈 결과 생성된 정보를 BIM 플랫폼 상에 모델링함으로써 사용자 입력 값을 최소로 하여 기존 BIM 플랫폼의 모델링 방법 대비, 생산성이 향상된 철골구조설계의 자동화를 구현해 보고자 하였다.

  • Construction that over 70% of the structure consists of concrete gets bigger and higher gradually and the demand of that is increasing as well. However, it's not easy to supply young and skilled persons on construction site because of social avoidance phenomena about 3D occupation, so it causes serious problems like aging and shortage of technicians. To solve the problems, executives related to the construction field make a management effort in various ways such as construction period shortening, labor productivity improvement and good quality but recently, they have an increasing interest in the necessity of the modularization of the high-rise building and the automation of the engineering development for the strengthening of international competitive power as more active and long-term alternatives. Therefore, this study is to propose the roadmap in order to make lots of efforts in developing construction technologies of high-rise buildings by performing a foundation study, the strategy for 4-step research development, on modularized construction system of concrete structure of high-rise buildings through domestic and foreign preceding research analyses associated with optimal design modularization technique, module factory automation and assembly automation of modularized objects.

  • While researches related with construction automation have dramatically increased, a Robot-based Automatic Construction system (RCA system) has developed for high-rise buildings in Korea. At the aspect that wide adoption of the RCA system is dependent on economic efficiency comparing with a conventional method, feasibility study on the RCA system should be implemented. However, due to practical limitations, the RCA system has tested to a seven story building. Based on the test results, this study implements a cost/benefits analysis to a simulated forty story building in order to derive more reliable data on the RCA system's practicability.

  • Non-working days owing to climatic factors have been negatively affected in productivity of construction, such as delays of project completion times, decrease productivity of construction. Especially non-working days of steel erection work is about 58 days, it is influenced deleteriously to estimating uncertain construction duration. To solve this problem, Construction Factory(CF) and sliding roof system installed CF's upper side are developed in korea recently. This study is proposed the design of sliding roof system through assess relation of requirements and technical characteristics using Quality Function Deployment(QFD). The basis data for applying QFD is collected from literature reviews and questionnaires/interviews targeting system developer, experts and researchers.

  • Recently, the number of high-rise buildings has been on the rise, which has meant that maintenance cost has increased by two and three times, along with the increase in the construction cost. It is suggested that the use of an auto-cleaning robot could increase the productivity and safety of cleaning work, which is mostly done outside of a building. In particular, the guide rail on a high-rise building could be useful in this capacity, as it has the advantage of not being significantly influenced by factors of the external environment, including wind pressure. For this reason, this research is preliminary research into a cleaning automation for a high-rise building, and aims to draw up a scenario for the vertically moving robot.
