Development on Management System of Structure's Displacement Using GPS (GPS를 이용한 구조물 변위 관리 시스템 개발)

  • Many facilities have been constructed due to the rapid development of science and economy, and the tendency for larger sizes and higher stories in constructing are being accelerated due to the development of technologies, and the efficient use of limited spaces. The safety problems of constructions are being frequently brought up. So, a technique by which the monitoring of the safety of constructions can be easily done must be developed as soon as possible. In this research an management system for structure's displacement using satellite survey was studied. The results of having established the management system for structure's displacement as a GPS positioning system were that data acquisition was easier than that from using normal survey equipment, and data from the satellite survey can be applied to the database of management system. The data of the GPS suey were rather large values to determine the safety of single stories, but can probably be used in establishing the management system using the structure's displacement.

  • 초소형전기기계시스템(MEMS: Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) 기술로 제작된 마이크로미러 어레이를 장착한 MEMS 우주망원경은 특유의 광시야각 감시, 목표 확인, 확대 및 고속 추적 기능을 가지며 고층대기에서의 초대형 방전현상과 같이 넓은 영역에서 드물게 임의로 일어나는 섬광현상을 관측하기에 최적이다. 러시아 과학위성 Tatiana-2의 주 탑재체로 선정된 극소형 MEMS 우주망원경 MTEL(MEMS Telescope for Extreme Lightning)은 광시야각 감시와 목표 확인을 위한 트리거망원경, 목표 확대와 고속추적을 위한 확대망원경 및 섬광현상의 분광측정을 위한 분광계로 구성되어 있다. 1년간의 개발 및 성능 검증 후 MTEL은 위성탑재를 위한 모든 우주인증 시험을 성공적으로 마쳤다. 현재 MTEL은 Tatiana-2 위성에 탑재되어 있으며, 9월 18일에 우주로 발사되어 1-3년간 800km 궤도를 비행하며 지구 대기에서 발생하는 섬광현상을 관측할 예정이다. 이 발표에서는 MTEL 탑재체의 설계, 제작, 성능 측정 및 calibration 결과를 보고하고, 위성탑재를 위한 진동 및 충격, 열, 진공 및 전자기파 적합성 등의 우주인증 시험 결과 또한 보고한다. 또한 발사 후 과학위성 및 MTEL의 이 발표 때까지의 우주에서의 상황을 보고한다.

An Experimental Study on the Shear Behaviour of Face Brick Wall Tied with the Screw Connector (나선형 긴결철물을 이용한 조적치장벽체의 전단거동에 관한 실험연구)

  • As buildings are built higher and their service life made longer, face brick walls are also required to be constructed in an easy and systematic manner, and to ensure their satisfying structural performance, inspectingly, against lateral load. Therefore this study aims to investigate the structural performance of face brick walls constructed by a new method using screwed stainless steel connectors and provide fundamental experiment data for field application of this method. The results of this study indicated that the face brick wall tied with screw connectors had better shear capacity against rocking motion than that of the wall constructed with ordinary tie bars when their tie spacing was the same. Based on the good performance of the wall tied with the screw connector, it is also expected that the spiral anchors developed in this study can possibly applied to high-rise by adjusting the spacing of the anchors considering the difference of dimensions.

  • Recently, as the concrete structures are becoming bigger, higher, longer and more special, high strength concrete is demanded. But the fracture behavior of high strength concrete is shown more brittle than that of the normal strength concrete. Therefore, in order to improve the brittle fracture behavior and crack propagation resistance, ACI Committee363 has been recommend the use of fiber reinforced concrete which showed superior property against the crack propagation resistance. On the other hand, bridges, concrete pavements and railroads etc. have been exposed to the repetition loading at least several million times during the service life. Therefore, fatigue load is dominantly most of all, but it is very difficult to estimate the suitable fatigue strength calculated by fatigue load. In this research, in order to examine the fatigue behavior of hybrid fiber reinforced high strength concrete, the static and fatigue tests were carried out. And from these results, it was estimated the fatigue strength of hybrid fiber reinforced high strength concrete.

  • Earth retaining structure is constructed structure in order to construct a multistoried building, the subway, a subterranean downtown for effective use and obtainments of the limited ground. Recently, many kinds of research have been actively developed for a standardization and a database on designing and constructing of bridge, tunnel, road. With the works of database construction of that, many kinds of data with respect to statistics is cumulated. However, Database work of designed and constructed earth retaining structure in the construction field is wholly lacking and lagged behind in the works of database construction. This paper suggested classification system on indication data in connection with designing and constructing earth retaining structures a hundred fields. On the basis of that, code work with classification system was practised and DB program of indication data in connection with designing and constructing earth retaining structures was developed.

A System of Guiding Path for Parking Lots based on RFID to Consider Real-time Constraints (실시간 제약을 고려한 RFID 기반 주차 경로 안내 시스템)

  • There have been many studies and technologies that define a current location of a moving vehicle with GPS(Global Positioning System). However, the navigation system with GPS has troubles to search an optimized route considering data such as realtime parking status and road conditions. Moreover, the GPS systems show malfunction in the downtown with very tall buildings, underground parking lot and the inside of buildings. On the contrary, the RFID systems are able to reflect real-time status of parking lots and roads in the downtown. This paper proposes a system of guiding path for parking lots to consider real-time constraints based on RFID. The results obtained from the implemented system show smooth guiding of a new route after immediately sensoring the change of the information of parking lots and roads: if a parking lot that a vehicle is heading to is fully occupied, the system re-searches a new route for a neighbor parking lot and immediately transfers it to customer's mobile, and if the designated route is under construction, the system guides a detour path. The proposed method will be useful for advanced integrated parking control system.

  • Recently, as steel structures become higher and more long-spanned, application of high strength steel. SM570, is considered, For accurate seismic design, seismic analysis of steel structures needs a constitutive equation describing the characteristic of steel materials under non-proportional cyclic loading, While the use of SM570 material is much increased these days, research for description and generalization of cyclic plasticity behavior are insufficient, In this study, a cyclic plasticity model is proposed by results of material tests, i.e, monotonic and low cycle tests, Proposed cyclic plasticity model is applied to 3-Dimensional FE program and we carried out seismic analysis of pipe-section steel pier using SM570, Comparison between experiment and analysis results shows that the proposed constitutive equation is able to describe exactly the complicated plastic behavior of steel structure using SM570.

Estimating Method of Surface Roughness Using Geographic Information (지리정보를 이용한 지표면조도 산정 방법)

  • Rapid urban expansion and densification of the various industrial facilities affect the changes of topography and building in urban areas. Even if buildings proceed with high rise, they get mixed with low-rise buildings such as houses and industrial parks that have existed in the area. This may confuse the designer in estimating a surface roughness, an important factor in calculating the design wind velocity of building. This study analyzed the surface roughness by using a geographic information. Referring to the criteria of each country's building code, this study proposed a method to distinguish the surface roughness depending on the height of the surrounding buildings where the design building is located and calculated the surface roughness using 1:5000 topographic map and GIS. It is expected to solve problems that an existing designer calculates the surface roughness in a subjective manner and to help to design more rational buildings resistant to wind.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate air ventilation using wind patterns of MetPhoMod program at nighttime focused on Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. Evaluation indices of air ventilation are wind resistant and retention used by results of each wind speed and diversity. The results are as follows. Vulnerable areas of air ventilation are Bonglim-dong, Bansong-dong, Yongji-dong and so on. In high-rise apartment, commercial area and single residential area of Yongji-dong, Sangnam-dong and Sapa-dong, wind is stagnated by high buildings. Therefore, these areas should construct urban spaces to circulate the wind. And to inflow persistingly the fresh wind generated in a rural area, we think that the construction of wind corridor is suggested by development plan and policy wind corridor.

  • The usefulness of walls in the structural planning of multistory buildings has long been recognized. When walls are situated in advantageous positions in a buildings, they can be very efficient in resisting lateral load. Specially coupled shear wall system is the primary lateral load resisting system of buildings. It is customary to refer to such walls as being 'coupled' by coupling beams. The coupling beams must exhibit excellent strength, stiffness ductility and energy dissipation capacity. To achieve these demands for steel coupling beam, steel coupling beam with Face Bearing Plate(FBP) embedded in the reinforced concrete walls is proposed. A comprehensive experimental test involving 2 steel coupling beam with and without FBP has been performed. Through experimental study, the evaluation of the advantage of that was establish and proposed the failure mode.
