  • Recently innovation cluster has been emphasized as a valid policy measure for innovation. For suggesting a new model of innovation cluster, we conducted literature review for the theories of regional innovation system(RIS) and innovation clusters. As a result, the success factors of innovation cluster were classified into system measures, physical measures, and social(human resources) measures from the perspective of RIS. The case of Gyeonggi province's innovation cluster policy was examined for an empirical analysis. For an in-depth analysis, a survey for the tenant companies in Pangyo technovalley(PTV) was conducted. As a result, it was found that Gyeonggi province's innovation cluster policy is evolving from 'a government-initiated system' to 'the 3rd-generation convergence RIS' and that PTV is closely related to the system measures of 'support for up-to-date management and technology information' and 'support for academic-research-industry cooperative research and technological cooperation,' physical measures of 'strengthening the function of PTV support division' and 'shared research equipment and other infrastructures,' and social measures of 'legal, financial, and administrative support system' and 'public childcare facilities'. Also, technology sector was divided into IT and non-IT for a validity check to find out that there was no significant difference in all factors, except for the public relations factors. This study is expected to provide resources for other related researches.

  • Innovation clusters have different factors depending on different stages. Innovation clusters in Gyeonggi now are early stages, which are necessary to investigate factors so that they go into upstages. Silicon Valley is known as one of the best innovation clusters, which are now represented as the forms of related variety. The purpose of the paper is to investigate current situation of innovation clusters in Silicon Valley and suggest appropriate policies for the development of innovation clusters in Gyeonggi. In order to do this, we visit several representative institutions regarding infra, human-training, industry-academic-institution cooperation, start-up assistance and local government. Throughout the case study, we propose implications, and produce policy tasks for the development of cluster policy in Gyeonggi.

Methods: The survey was performed to the men between the ages of 50 and 79 in Seoul and Kyunggi province, Korea. 144 questionnaires were collected and analyzed by SPSS 18.0 program. Stepwise multiple regression was used to identify significant predictors of successful aging. Results: The most influencing factor for successful aging was social support, the second was self-efficacy, the third and the fourth was community environment and subjective health status. This regression model explained 56.7% of the variance in successful aging. • This study investigates moderating effects of positive psychological capital between job stress and depression focusing on hotel employees. Data were collected for 3 weeks from November 7 to November 27, 2017. 6 five-star and deluxe hotels in Seoul and Gyeonggi province were chosen for this study and samples were collected from employees working the hotel. A total of 330 employees were attended in this research and finally 308 samples were used for the empirical analysis. The result of this study showed that 3 factors(self-efficacy, restoration ability, optimism) of positive psychological capital but hope factor moderated the relationship between job stress(working environment, time pressure constraint, communication factors among them) and depression. However, all factors of positive psychological capital did not moderated between job instability and depression.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify cognitive impairment and it's related factors of the elderly in long term care facilities. The participants of this study were 229 residents of five nursing homes. Data were analyzed using two sample t-test, ${\chi}^2$-test, and logistic regression. The results revealed eight factors related to cognitive impairment: gender(OR=2.41, p=.035), age(75-84: OR=3.26, p=.002, Over 85: OR=4.46, p<.001), living with family before admission(OR=2.17, p=.015), hearing(OR=8.88, p=.004), family history of dementia(OR=4.39, p=.009), ADL(OR=0.82, p<.001), hypertension(OR=4.07, p<.001), and diabetes(OR=3.42, p=.001). Based on the findings of this study, continuous nursing intervention focused on adjustable factors would be helpful in order to improve nursing home elderly people's quality of life.

There are the following results performed by a frequency analysis, a factor analysis, a reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS Windows 15.0 Version. First, the limitation factor in women's marine sports partially influences on negotiation strategy. Second, the participation limitation factor in women's marine sports partially influences on participation decision. Third, the participation negotiation strategy in women's marine sports partially influences participation decision.

  • The purpose of this study is to extend Davis's Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) to verify the intention of use fintech factors in which usefulness, easiness, accessibility, affordability, innovation, and uncertainty for middle-aged and older adult. Data was derived from the 2017 Driving and Mobility Survey of Older Adult Korean, which was collected from 457 middle-aged and older adult aged 55 and over in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do Province. Then, structural equation was used to verify the fintech technology acceptance factors of the middle-aged and older adult. The results showed that fintech technology acceptance factors of middle-aged and older adult were verified as usefulness, easiness, innovation, and uncertainty. Namely, the higher usefulness, easiness and innovation resulted in higher the intention to use fintech. Also, the lower the uncertainty resulted in higher the intention to use fintech. This study has implication for fintech, a representative technology of the Aging-Friendly Finance Industry, to identify the technology acceptance factors by expanding the Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) for middle-aged and older adult.

  • The present study aimed to develop a sports psychological skill training program and to test its applicability to improve the performance of national wheelchair curling players. A total of 4 participants completed the study. Subjects have been to 12 sessions of 6 different psychological skills training programs (routine training, attentional focus training, writing practice training in diary, relation training, self-control training, and positive self-talk training). The effectiveness of psychological skills training has been evaluated with 6 questionnaires and EEG measurement. The result was that psychological skills training had improved coping with adversity, peaking under pressure, and concentration, self-management and reduced anxiety of Korean national wheelchair curling player. The result was that the EEG inter-hemispheric asymmetry index showed negative emotional states before psychological skill training but positive emotional states after. The result implies that psychological skill training plays an important mediating role in bringing about positive effects in the psychological elements and competitiveness in national wheelchair curling players.

  • This paper investigates the determinants for the controlling power and the concentration of the subcontracting trade between the downstream producer and the upstream supplier using a survey data for the IT industry in Gyeonggi-Do. The estimation results of the ordered logit and least square analyses are as follows. First, a firm. s controlling power across the downstream producer and the upstream supplier in the subcontracting trade would grow bigger when the company is bigger, more manufacture-oriented, and has higher ratio of export in sales. Second, the analysis for the upstream suppliers indicates that the higher dependent ratio of the subcontracting trade in the sales, the lower the concentration ratio of the R&D in the sales. Lastly, the analysis of the downstream producers indicates that the higher the dependent ratio of the subcontracting trade in the sales, the higher the concentration ratio of the R&D in the sales, which is distinctively contrast with the analysis result of the upstream suppliers. The overall estimation results are, hence, unsupporting to the transaction cost theory which predicts the increase of R&D investments in both downstream producer and upstream supplier.

  • Recently, quality problems, such as the collapse of apartment structures under construction, has emerged as a social issue. Although there are various causes of quality problem and the impact of each problem may be different, the problems from the perspective of construction engineer of construction company are investigated. Therefore, this study aim to investigate the adequacy of construction engineer's experience, number of field engineer, timing of engineer deployment at construction sites, etc. in order to resolve quality and safety problems. In this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted targeting construction managers to obtain objective opinions. The results showed that the number of construction engineers in construction companies should be increased and that intermediate construction engineers should be increased to enable practical site management for resolving quality and safety problems. In addition, it was found that there was a need to reduce the number of non-regular employed field construction engineers in construction site and at the same time systematically regulate the number of on-site construction engineers, similar to safety managers and quality managers.
