Two-Port Vector Network Analysis System with a Vector Signal Channel (벡터 전압 수신기를 이용한 2-포트 산란 계수 분석 시스템)

  • This paper presents a vector network analysis system for 2-port scattering parameters of microwave devices using some basic microwave instruments/devices such as signal generators, vector voltmeter, directional couplers and frequency mixers. The analytical model and implementation method for scattering parameter measurements - which can replace the vector network analyzers - are presented. The performance of the implemented system is evaluated through 1- and 2-port scattering parameter measurements, respectively. The vector volt signals which determine the scattering parameters are detected in two distinct methods depending on the frequency band of interests; a direct-detection method with a single signal generator and vector voltmeter for relatively low band and a heterodyne method to frequency down-mix associated with an additional signal source as well as frequency mixers for high band are used, respectively. Using these two methods, scattering parameters of UHF and X bands are evaluated and their performances are verified through a comercial vector network analyzer.

Considering the Multi-Purpose Display Designed for Aircraft Lightning Protection (낙뢰보호를 고려한 항공기용 다목적 디스플레이 설계)

  • In this paper, we introduce measures designed content for RTCA DO-160 F, Section 22 tests performed to verify the effects of indirect lightning and testing process of the test was carried out in the multi-purpose display certification process. This is referred to as indirect effects of lightning capability of an aircraft having electrical electronic equipment failure or damage to bring lightning induced voltages. In order to protect the avionics from lightning indirect effects of these aircraft are analyzing the effects of lightning strikes on aircraft and aircraft systems and interior design needs protection against the threat on their part. In this paper, we introduce RTCA DO-160 F, component selection process according to Section 22 category selection method and the selected level for determining the level of such measures for protection against lightning of multipurpose display for this aircraft. It also introduces the actual test process to confirm that the designed effectiveness of the selected part. We expect a good example of the lightning planned for future development of measures designed avionics through each step of the process introduced this.

  • Uncertainty in large-scale tourism development is the main reason of the delay on the project. The purpose of this study is to identify the status and effect of this large-scale tourism development project. Huge amount of funds has to be invested prior to the development of this project and with high uncertainty of successful development, the procedure is the most important factor of this project. Therefore, under the basis of these assumptions, we operated a PLS regression analysis to see any factors that has influence during the procedure of the project. The result of the PLS regression analysis resulted that among all of the factors, the participation and role of regional community is the highest priority. In order to lead large-scale tourism development to success is to listen to the ideas of various project-related personnels and form a public - private partnership for evaluation of the project.

A Study on the Modeling of PoF Estimation for Probabilistic Risk Assessment based on Bayesian Method (확률론적 위험도평가를 위한 베이지안 기반의 파손확률 추정 모델링 연구)

  • To predict the probabilistic service life, statistical factors should be included to consider the uncertainty of parameters. Generally the probabilistic analysis is one of the common methods to account the uncertainty of parameters on the structural failure. In order to apply probabilistic analysis on the deterministic life analysis, it would be necessary to introduce Probability of Failure(PoF) and conduct risk assessment. In this work, we have studied probabilistic risk assessment of aircraft structures by using PoF approach. To achieve this goal, the Bayesian method was utilized to model PoF estimation since this method is known as the proper method to express the uncertainty of parameters. A series of proof tests were also conducted in order to verify the result of PoF estimation. The results from this efforts showed that the PoF estimation model can calculate quantitatively the value of PoF. Furthermore effectiveness of risk assessment approach for the aircraft structures was also demonstrated.

Fast Motion Estimation Algorithm using Selection of Candidates and Stability of Optimal Candidates (후보 선별과 최적후보 안정성을 이용한 고속 움직임 예측 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a fast motion estimation algorithm which is important in video encoding. So many fast motion estimation algorithms have been published for improving prediction quality and computational reduction. In the paper, we propose an algorithm that reduces unnecessary computation, while almost keeping prediction quality compared with the full search algorithm. The proposed algorithm calculates the sum of partial block matching error for each candidate, selects the candidates for the next step, compares the stability of optimal candidates with minimum error, and finds optimal motion vectors by determining the progress of the next step. By doing that, we can find the minimum error point as soon as possible and obtain fast computational speed by reducing unnecessary computations. Additionally, the proposed algorithm can be used with conventional fast motion estimation algorithms and prove it in the experimental results.

  • Visibility of the satellite navigation is related to a environmental condition of a receiver. Obstacles like buildings and trees in urban areas can block signals and have effects on accuracy and reliability of positioning. This paper presents a method of creating 3D analysis model of urban canyon of Seoul using three-Dimensional digital map. Analysis techniques of visible satellites with Ray-Polygon Collision Detection and validation of algorithm through field tests are discussed. We have compared and analyzed the visibility of GPS and Galileo with respect to separate and simultaneous tracking in view of DOP (Dilution of Precision) using the 3D GIS digital map.

Back-Analysis for Estimating Transmissivity in Riverbank Filtration (강변여과 대수층의 투수량계수 추정을 위한 역해석)

  • Riverbank filtration is a natural process, using alluvial aquifers to remove contaminants and pathogens in river water for the production of drinking water. Back analysis which minimizes the objective function that is typically the sum of squares of the differences between the calculated and measured quantities is used for the estimation of aquifer parameters. In this study, transmissivity is back-analysed using the BFGS (Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno) scheme for optimization. MOC is used to obtain calculated groundwater level. The developed inverse model was applied to Dae-san, Chang-won city where riverbank filtration is being undertaken. The model showed good convergence behavior for different groundwater conditions. The performance of the model was better than a widely-used commercial software package in terms of error between calculated and observed groundwater level.

  • KICT has been carrying out inventory research on the cut slopes of national roads. Inventory research results are basic data to cut slope management system. Inventory data are classified by general status, cut slope characteristics and inspector opinion. Inventory data are utilized to figure out dangerous slopes and decide survey ranking of detailed safety diagnostication. This paper drew the distribution area of dangerous cut slopes using inventory data in Chungcheongdo, and verified efficiency on distribution area of dangerous cut slopes by comparing occurrence frequency of real collapsed cut slopes.

High functional biodegradable card through annealing (어닐링을 통한 고기능성 생분해성 카드)

  • Cards made from PVC and PET materials do not oxidize or decompose readily, so they are generally incinerated or landfilled after use and cause pollution problems, such as environmental hormones and combustion gases during incineration. In addition, there is a problem of environmental pollution because they are discarded as semi-permanent refuse without being decomposed at landfill. This study attempted to solve this problem using polylactic acid (PLA), which is a representative biodegradable material as a substitute material that can solve the issues with these cards. On the other hand, when the thin card core sheet is made from only PLA material, the physical properties of the material are insufficient, such as the low temperature impact strength, high temperature stability, and poor bending properties, so its use is limited. To solve this problem, the compositional ratio of PLA was reviewed, and the optimal biodegradable compound composition was determined through an examination of the compositions, such as crystallization nucleating agents, additives, and nano compound technology. The high functionalization as a biodegradable card was verified through a laminating process using annealing technology.

Moderating of Effects of Locus of Control on the Relationship between Ethical Leadership and Organizational Citizenship Behavior in Hotel Corporations (호텔기업의 윤리적 리더십과 조직시민행동의 관계에서 통제위치의 조절효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to research the relationship among ethical leadership, sportsmanship, altruism and locus of control of employees in hotel corporations. Ethical leadership is the demonstration of normatively appropriate conduct through personal actions and interpersonal relationships and the promotion of such conduct to followers through two-way communication, reinforcement and decision-making. Ethical leadership is expected to have positive effects on the attitudes and ethical conduct of employees and ultimately evev on business unit or organizational performance. To accomplish this study, it was determined that the analysis derived from a hypothesis and literature reviews and data collected from 241 employees in hotel corporations. The results of empirical analysis showed as follows. First, Perceived ethical leadership has a significant effect on sportsmanship. Second, Perceived ethical leadership has a significant effect on altruism. Third, Locus of control was also found to have moderating effect upon the relationship between ethical leadership and altruism Based on these findings, the implications and limitations of the study were presented including some directions for future studies.
