This study explores how fear of isolation and willingness to speak out are affected by cultural values. The cross-cultural studies on the spiral of silent theory were conducted mostly in Eastern and Western countries and compared the results. It attributed to the results to the "individualist-collective" attitude difference. However, it did not explain the differences in the same individualism societies as well as in the collectivism societies. Thus, this study examined the impact of cultural values on the spiral of silence theory with 'individualism-collectivism' and 'uncertainty-avoidance'. To that end, the current study conducted online surveys in India, South Korea, the United States and Spain where have different levels of individualism, collectivism, and uncertainty-avoidance. As a result, individualism contributed to lower the fear of isolation, and collectivism and uncertainty avoidance have raised the fear of isolation. Besides, individualism and uncertainty avoidance also reinforce the willingness to speak out, while fear of social isolation has been shown to weaken the willingness to speak out. The study also found that fear of isolation has the mediated effect of individualism and collectivism on the willingness to speak out.

The goal of this study is to compare entrepreneurial orientation of both countries' students and to compare the effect of individualism on developing entrepreneurial orientation of both countries. In order to achieve this goal, this study will conduct two analysis. Firstly, the comparative study on entrepreneurial orientation of both students will be implemented by conducting F-test and t-test. Secondly, the regression analysis between an independent variable - individualism - and dependent variables - innovativeness, internal locus of control, and entrepreneurial orientation - will be conducted in order to compare the effect of individualism on developing entrepreneurial orientation. Prior to implementation of two analysis, this study has implemented the survey to Korean and Chinese university students to estimate entrepreneurial orientation and a cultural variable to influence entrepreneurial orientation. The question of survey is divided into two parts - individual entrepreneurial orientation including internal locus of control and innovativeness and a cultural variable, individualism. As other precedent comparative studies of Chines and Korean potential entrepreneurship concluded, Chinese students have shown higher entrepreneurial orientation than Korean students. However, on the contrary to prior studies on cultural factors and entrepreneurship, only Chinese students' entrepreneurial orientation is influenced by individualism. Any dependent variables of Korean students were not affected by individualism variable.

There are significant differences in individualism collectivism clothing behaviors and clothing purchasing motives according to demographic variables. 3. Chinese were middle grade among 4 countries. It can be said that certain factors correlated with a certain country, because Netherlander's answer on questions belonged to profit and opinion factor were highest, and Japanese's one belonged to indifference on other were highest. On gender, Man was more individualistic better than woman. On age, twenties has strong collective propensity better than other age groups. The number of significant difference on comparison among countries is 21 in 21 questions, but the number on gender or age is 6 or 7. This study explores and examines the impacts of the cultural characters on the brand attitude of Chinese regional consumers. This study used the 1,500 sample sized data collected from three major cities: Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. We investigate that power distance, individualism/collectivism, uncertainty avoidance and long-orientation are statistically different across cities. The empirical studies show that individualism/collectivism and uncertainty avoidance have significant impacts on the brand attitude of Chinese regional consumers. We tested that the relationship between the brand power and the brand attitude is moderated by individualism/collectivism, the results indicate that the effect of the brand power on the brand attitude is moderated by uncertainty avoidance. These results imply that Chinese consumers' culture character of individualism/collectivism and uncertainty avoidance moderate their brand attitude. Based on this results, We suggested some implications for further market segmentation strategy, brand marketing strategy, and Chinese regional consumer culture research.
