The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between communication, leadership, and ethical nursing competency for nursing students and to identify factors that affect the ethical nursing competency of nursing students. The subjects who participated in this study were 328 people, and data were collected using questionnaires after obtaining research consent. The collected data was statistically analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 28.0 program. As a result of this study, ethical nursing competency and communication (r=.67, p<.001) and leadership (r=.56, p<.001) showed a significant positive correlation. The factors that affect the ethical nursing competency of nursing students are communication (𝛽=.52, p<.001) and leadership (𝛽=.23, p<.001) has been identified. The regression model of this study was significant (F=155.74, p<.001). The explanatory power of the model was 48%. Therefore, it should include improving communication skills and leadership when developing a program to inhance the ethical nursing competency of nursing students.
This study was a descriptive research study to identify of awareness about pandemic influenza, ethical awareness, and ethical decision-making in the situation of COVID-19 pandemic. The subjects were 194 nursing students in H and Y city. Data collected from May 1 to June 20, 2020 and analyzed using the SPSS 24.0 program. The subject's awareness about pandemic influenza was moderate, and ethical awareness and ethical decision-making were high. Ethics awareness and ethical decision-making levels were higher for those who had a history of infection with new type of infectious disease than those who did not. Awareness about pandemic influenza is positively correlated with ethical awareness(r=.291, p<.001) and ethical decision-making related to pandemic influenza(r=.143, p=.046), ethical awareness is a positive correlation with ethical decision-making(r=.274, p<.001). Based on result, propose the development of an educational program to make correct ethical decisions in the social disaster caused by infectious diseases for nursing students.

This study was to investigate the effect of deontology and utilitarianism on the ethical values of nursing students and to provide basic data. Data collection was conducted from May 14 to June 1, 2018 in 180 students of a university nursing student in Daegu who explained their research and agreed to the study. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 program. In order to confirm the difference between the subjects' demographic characteristics and nursing-related characteristics, the independent t-test and ANOVA were used, and the post-test was conducted using the $Sch{\acute{e}}ffe$ post-test. The ethical values of the nursing students were $97.51{\pm}8.96$ out of 150, indicating that they were inclined toward the position of deontology. The first grade students were more dominant, and the higher the grade, the more inclined toward utilitarianism. It is necessary to develop education to establish ethical values so that ethical decision making can be done through philosophical thinking when various nursing dilemma situations in the clinical field are based on the results.
The purpose of this study was necessary to increase certainty of nursing ethical value and recognition of organs donation in the nurses. Multiple programs are consistently need to educate nursing ethical value. The subjects were 222 nurses in a hospital. Data collection was carried out for seventeen days from 14th January 2011, using a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using SPSS program. The mean score of nursing ethical value was $3.22{\pm}0.38$ points. The mean score toward organ donation in brain dead donors was $3.34{\pm}0.48$ points. Nursing ethical values almost never had a correlation(r=.160) toward organ donation in brain dead donors.
Purpose: This study is aimed to identify the ethical issues and needs for ethical education of nurses in long-term care hospitals. Methods: Data were collected in 2015. Participants were 142 nurses working in nine long-term care hospitals. The Ethical Issues in Clinical Practice Tool was used. Data analysis was performed using SPSS WIN 24.0. Results: The degree of experienced ethical issues was 1.23 out of 3, and 'Providing care with a possible risk to your health' was an ethical problem most frequently experienced in nurses. In addition, the ethical problem that the nurse most disturb was identified by 'Determining when death occurs'. The degree of needs for ethical education was 3.11 out of 4, and the highest ethical topic was 'Legal/ethical issues in the use of restraints'. Ethical issues and needs for ethical education were not statistically significant differences according to the characteristic of participants. Conclusion: In this study, we identified the ethical problems and necessity of ethics education experienced by nurses working in long-term care hospitals. The results of this study can be used as basic data for the development of customized ethical education contents for nurses in long-term care hospitals.
The purpose of this study was to recognition of organ donation of nursing students in convergence and integration time so was to investigate the relationship between consciousness of biomedical ethics and attitude in organ donation. The participant were 202 nursing students and data were collected from April until July of 2017. Findings showed that consciousness of biomedical ethics wes 2.98 and attitude in organ donation was 2.67, and brain death was lowest at 2.67. The relationship between two variables showed a positive correlation(r=.18, p<.01), and Affecting Factors of consciousness of biomedical ethics was attitude in organ donation, gender, experience of studying for biomedical ethics, and the explanatory power was 9.1%. This result that for promotion of recognition of organ donation, we propose to implementing nursing ethics education focused on brain death and attitude in organ donation.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between ethical dilemma, end-of-life care stress and burnout of the nurses in long term care hospitals and descriptive correlations to identify factors affecting burnout. The subjects of study were 143 nurses who are working in the seven long-term-care hospitals in G-do and had more than one experience of end-of-life nursing care, understood the research items and agreed to participate in the research. In this study, it was founded that end-of-life care stress, age, job position, and end-of-life care education were found to be influential factors affecting burnout of the nurses in long-term care hospitals. As a result, age and occupation, end - of - life nursing education, and end - of - life stress were found to be factors affecting nurses' burnout. Therefore, in order to prevent and alleviate burnout of long-term care hospital nurses, a systematic intervention program that manages stress related to end-of-life nursing care is needed.
This study is a quasi-experimental research using non-equivalent control group pre-post design in order to understand the effectiveness of biomedical ethics education using movies. This study selected the first-year 45 students and 63 students who were attending at two 4-year-course nursing colleges as an experimental group and control group, respectively. Then, this study provided the experimental group with the lecture on biomedical ethics for 16 weeks using the movie related to the ethical issues covering 10 areas. Data collection was done for 5 days from August 26, 2013 until December 5, 2013, and conducted pre-post questionnaire survey on the 1st week session and 16th session after explaining there search purpose and getting a written agreement from the subjects. As a result of analysis of the collected data using SPSS Statistics 18, it was found that students' average point of biomedical ethics awareness improved to 3.31 from 3.07; additionally, in the analysis of the data by sub-area, the point in artificial abortion improved to 3.69 from 3.08; artificial insemination from 2.99 to 3.57; fetal diagnosis from 3.10 to 3.45; a newborn's right to life from 3.39 to 3.55 and organ transplant from 3.26 to 3.53, respectively(P<.001). On the contrary, the research results showed that there was no change in the point of the mercy-killing, brain death, and human biotechnology areas, respectively(p>.05). Conclusively, movie-aided education could be diversely used for nursing education provided movie contents should be in accord with a lecture subject in a way that can arouse students' interest and concern, and improve educational satisfaction.

This study was a descriptive study to investigate the influence of moral self-concept and ethical values on attitude toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment among nursing students. The study subjects were 296 nursing students from 2 nursing colleges in G city. The data were collected from June 12 to June 23, 2017 and analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 program. The mean score of the moral self-concept was 3.48±0.33, of ethical values was 3.50±0.37 and of attitude toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment was 3.13±0.43. In attitude toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment, there were significant differences in grade(F=3.21, p=.024), practice(t=2.06, p=.040) and nursing ethics education(t=2.98, p=.003). There was a significant negative correlation between attitude toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment and moral self-concept(r=-.14, p=.017) and ethical values(r=-.42, p<.001). The significant predictors that influence the attitude toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment were ethical values and nursing ethics education. The explanatory power was 22.5%. Based on the above results, additional studies to determine the various factors affecting attitude toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment of nursing students should be conducted and systematic education programs need to be developed to foster utilitarian values in order to form a positive attitude toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment.
This study was conducted to identify the influences of bioethics awareness and patient-centered care on attitude of terminal care of hospice nurses. The participants were 145 nurses working in hospice care center of hospitals in Korea. Data were collected during May and June in 2018 and were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple hierarchecal regression analysis using SPSS 24.0 program. Attitude of terminal care was influenced by hospice specialist certification (β=.15, p=.031), bioethics awareness (β=-.24, p=.003), and patient-centered care (β=.36, p<.001) in the regression model. These variables explained 36.9% of attitude of terminal care. In order to improve the attitude of terminal care of hospice nurses, programs for improving patient-centered care competence including bioethics awareness should be provided.
