  • Purpose: This study is a comparative study conducted to examine the differences in attitudes toward COVID-19 prevention, self-leadership, and infection prevention behaviors among nursing students based on their experience in community volunteer related to infection disease prevention. Method: A total of 286 nursing students (146 in the experimental group and 140 in the control group) from 14 regions across the country were conveniently sampled from November 1 to 30, 2021, and the average difference in each variable according to participation in volunteer activities was analyzed using a t-test. Results: The comparison of differences based on participation in volunteer activities showed that the group with volunteer experience had a statistically significantly higher score in all variables: attitudes toward COVID-19 prevention (42.25±5.35 points) compared to those without experience (40.02±6.30 points)(p=.001), self-leadership (72.04±13.18 points) compared to those without experience (66.58±10.85 points)(p<.000), and infectious disease prevention behavior (44.31±7.62 points) compared to those without experience (39.38±7.20 points)(p<.000). Conclusion: This study provides practical and educational implications by suggesting a direction for educating nursing students who will need to provide actual care in future infectious disease outbreaks. These results suggest that nursing students could carry out volunteer service related infection diseases prevention through customized education and promotion programs for different target groups, which could be supported by school budgets, club activities, or incorporated into regular courses. Furthermore, it can be utilized as foundational data for the development of future nursing education programs

  • Yeong-dae(靈臺), Yeong-yu(靈囿), and Yeong-so(靈沼) - so-called 'Yeong-dae Garden' – appear in the poem 'Dae-ah(大雅)․Yeong-dae(靈臺)' in Shijing(詩經) which is considered the record of the earliest garden in East Asia, in the chapter 'Yanghyewang(梁惠王)' of Mencius(孟子). Focusing on those records, this research clarifies their characteristics and discusses the aspects related to garden practices in the Joseon Dynasty. The Yeong-dae Garden is the garden of King Wen of the Zhou Dynasty, who is considered a sage of Confucianism. It is considered to be the first imperial garden in China, and the basic form of all gardens consists of mountains and water. The characteristics of Yeong-dae Garden can be specified through the texts of Shijing and Mencius, the comments written by Zhu Xi and others, and later literature, such as Sambohwangdo. The characteristics of Yeong-dae Garden are as follows: In terms of form, the three spatial elements corresponding to raised ground, a wide area for raising animals, and a pond with fish form a simple arrangement; in terms of function, it combines observation and rest; and in terms of symbolism, it signifies the companionship of the public sentiment and the leader's sincerity. In literature from the Joseon Dynasty, Yeong-dae Garden mainly appear in historical materials related to the King, and its meaning shows an aspect of differentiation into two functions: an observatory for astronomical observation and a garden for rest and appreciation. For the intellectuals of Joseon who sought to restore an ancient ideal state like the Zhou Dynasty through Zhu Xi's Neo-Confucianism, the Yeong-dae Garden served as a control device to warn against royal garden's practices and a symbolic mechanism to expand its meaning of existence to good politics.

  • This study is a descriptive research to determine the mediating effect of Positive Psychological Capital on the relationship between Job Stress and Retention Intention among nurses working at blood centers in the metropolitan area. Data were collected from 167 nurses using a structured questionnaire between May 2021 and April 2022, and analyzed by SPSS ver.25. General characteristics were analyzed through frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The relationship between Job Stress and Retention Intention was analyzed using independent samples t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation. Hypotheses were tested using hierarchical multiple regression analysis and PROCESS macro model 4. The results substantiated the hypotheses: Hypothesis 1 proposed that higher Retention Intention and Positive Psychological Capital were associated with lower Job Stress. Hypothesis 2 suggested that Positive Psychological Capital significantly partially mediates the relationship between Retention Intention and Job Stress. To promote Retention Intention among blood center nurses, it is crucial to implement human resource management systems aimed at alleviating Job Stress and enhancing Positive Psychological Capital. Specifically, enhancing Positive Psychological Capital within blood centers is particularly significant. This study contributes empirical evidence necessary for efficient personnel management and competency enhancement programs to reduce Job Stress, thereby enhancing the quality of nursing care among blood center nurses. Furthermore, it is recommended to develop intervention programs for Positive Psychological Capital to enhance Retention Intention and reduce Job Stress among blood center nurses.

  • This study was a descriptived research study to determine the impact of empathy, communication competence, and personality on college adaptation among nursing students attending a university in City Y. The research method was a self-administered survey targeting 200 nursing students at a university in Y City, and data were collected from April 29, 2024 to May 27, 2024. The research statistical method used was the SPSS/WIN 25.0 statistical program, and was analyzed using t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis. In the correlation between each variable, college adaptation is related to empathy(r=.522, p<.001), communication competence(r=.557, p<.001), and personality(r=.561, p<.001). And as a result of regression analysis, as a factor affecting the subjects' college adaptation, second-year students(β=-.148, p=.013) had a higher level of college adaptation than first-year students(β=-.297, p<.001). Additionally, the level of college adaptation was high in the order of empathy(β=.295, p<.001), personality(β=.230, p<.001), and communication competence(β=.157, p=.050), and the explanatory power was 47.6%(Adj R2=.476, p<.001). Therefore, in order for nursing students to adapt to college, various psychological and emotional supports must be provided at the school and department level, and various customized programs that can improve empathy, communication competence, and personality should be developed and applied by considering the characteristics of nursing students by grade.

  • This paper examined the understanding of the laws and punishments of Zhu Xi School. Zhu Xi of Nan-song(南宋) is a scholar who influenced many later East Asian countries, including Joseon. When limited to Joseon, various academic and political thought used Zhu Xi's interpretation as a standard. Thus it is necessary to study Zhu Xi's thought of law to comprehend the Confucian countries. However, there are a few previous studies that deal with the legal ideas of Zhu Xi. In order to understand Zhu Xi's perception of the law, this paper will analyze the Book of History(書經) as a central text. The Book of History describes the system and the law of ancient China. It also deals with the origin and development of punishment and legislation, unlike other scriptures. However, Zhu Xi died before he finished his work, making a footnote of the Book of History. Following his work, Cai Shen(蔡沈) completed the interpretation of the Book of History. Therefore, it would be natural to think Zhu Xi and Cai Shen were in continuity. This paper figures out the recognition of Zhu Xi School on punishment and law by organizing the history of punishment and law in the Book of History. Furthermore, analyzes other papers of Zhu xi to know his perception of law and punishment.

  • This study is a descriptive research study conducted to verify the dual mediating effect of critical thinking disposition and core nursing skill performance confidence in the relationship between clinical nurses' nursing professionalism and clinical decision-making ability and to use it as basic data for improving clinical decision-making ability. The study subjects were 173 clinical nurses at a general hospital in a region, and data were collected from September 15 to October 13, 2023. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/AMOS 23.0 program to verify the mediating effect by analyzing the causal relationship between the research variables and the bootstrapping estimation method, and t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and hierarchical regression were performed. The results of the study include: First, the appropriateness of the causal model between clinical nurses' nursing professionalism, clinical decision-making ability, critical thinking disposition, and core nursing skill performance confidence was valid. Second, critical thinking disposition showed a partial mediating effect in the relationship between nursing professionalism and clinical decision-making ability. Third, as a result of verifying the dual mediating effect, the indirect effect of critical thinking disposition was greater than the indirect effect of critical thinking disposition and core nursing skill performance confidence, indicating that the single mediating effect was greater than the dual mediating effect. Therefore, it was verified that fostering high nursing professionalism in clinical nurses can improve clinical decision-making ability, and in particular, strengthening critical thinking disposition is more effective.

  • The academia has always maintained a strong interest in Fu Sheng Liu Ji since it was known to the world. However, current studies mostly focused on English versions translation, classification of works genres, the Image of the heroine Chen Yun, and depicting, which based on content of the works, the life of the lower literati in the mid-Qing Dynasty, yet no systematic discussion on the characteristic construction of memorial space has been carried out. Although real life was used as writing material, a careful reading will reveal that Shen Fu, the author, had the memories significantly split and reassembled, which was achieved through the repetition of fragmentary memory spaces. The intentionally constructed characters of these memory spaces, along with their combinations, and the mentality of the lower literati in the mid-Qing Dynasty are all worthy of further study, these aspects and their relations were discussed in this paper. The second chapter summarized, classified and described the types of memory spaces in the works. Two typical memory spaces were appeared, semi-closed dotted space and open linear space. The former was mainly in Gui Fang Ji Le and Xian Qing Ji Qu while the latter was in Kan Ke Ji Chou and Lang You Ji Kuai. The following discussion was on Shen Fu's deliberately disconnecting the time chain, and the narrative ways of categorizing and linking these memory spaces. The third chapter revealed the mentality of the lower-class literati in the mid-Qing Dynasty, which hidden behind the special construction mode of Shen Fu's memory spaces, was believed as a "active marginalization", and specifically manifested in defending the private space, as well as resisting the social space. Therefore, the paper holds that Fu Sheng Liu Ji is not a record of Shen Fu's life, but a deliberate cutting and reorganizing of the memory spaces, and his active marginalization mentality contributes to the construction of such groups of memory spaces.
