  • Restricted Hypercube-Like (RHL) graphs are a graph class that widely includes useful interconnection networks such as crossed cube, Mobius cube, Mcube, twisted cube, locally twisted cube, multiply twisted cube, and generalized twisted cube. In this paper, we show that for an m-dimensional RHL graph G, $m{\geq}4$, with an arbitrary faulty edge set $F{\subset}E(G)$, ${\mid}F{\mid}{\leq}m-2$, graph $G{\setminus}F$ has a hamiltonian path between any distinct two nodes s and t if dist(s, V(F))${\neq}1$ or dist(t, V(F))${\neq}1$. Graph $G{\setminus}F$ is the graph G whose faulty edges are removed. Set V(F) is the end vertex set of the edges in F and dist(v, V(F)) is the minimum distance between vertex v and the vertices in V(F).

  • Let $(M,g_M,F)$ be a (p+q)-dimensional connected Riemannian manifold with a foliation $F$ of codimension q and a complete bundle-like metric $g_M$ with respect to $F$. Let $Ric_D$ be the transverse Ricci field of $F$ with respect to the transverse Riemannian connection D which is a torsion-free and $g_Q$-metrical connection on the normal bundle Q of $F$. We consider transverse confomal (or, projective) fields of $F$. It is clear that a tranverse Killing field s of $F$ preserves the transverse Ricci field of $F$, that is, $\Theta(s)Ric_D = 0$, where $\Theta(s)$ denotes the transverse Lie differentiation with respect to s.

  • We studied electronic structure of magnetic semiconductors EuO, EuS, and EuTe. The photoemission spectra show localized Eu 4f states and broad anion p bands. As the size of anion increases from oxygen to tellurium, anion p band width increases and eventually overlaps Eu 4f states. Hence in EuO and EuS, Eu 4f states are the highest occupied stated lying above anion p band, while Te 5p band spreads widely over Eu 4f states to become valence band maximum in EuTe. It was also observed that Eu 4f states have width of 0.7eV and dispersion of 0.2eV in EuS by angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy. The width of the 4f spectra mainly originates from atomic multiplets, but the much larger dispersion than that of Eu metal is due to p-f mixing.

  • Low-pressure fluorocarbon plasmas are widely used in microelectronics fabrication for a variety of surface modification purposes. In particular, fluorocarbon plasmas are used for the etching of dielectrics such as silicon dioxide and silicon nitride. Among the various fluorocarbons, this study focuses on C4F6 molecules (C4F6s) which are composed of hexafluorocyclobutene (c-C4F6), hexafluoro-1, 3-butadiene (1, 3-C4F6), and hexafluoro-2-butyne (2-C4F6). We have investigated the dissociation reactions of C4F6s, resulting in CF2, CF3, C2F3, and C3F3 fragments, by using the wB97X-D functional with various basis sets. In this presentation, the geometrical properties, energetics, and dissociation mechanisms of C4F6s will be suggested.

  • In this paper, by using the difference analogue of Nevanlinna's theory, the authors study the shared-value problem concerning two higher order difference operators of a transcendental entire function with finite order. The following conclusion is proved: Let f(z) be a finite order transcendental entire function such that λ(f - a(z)) < ρ(f), where a(z)(∈ S(f)) is an entire function and satisfies ρ(a(z)) < 1, and let 𝜂(∈ ℂ) be a constant such that ∆𝜂n+1 f(z) ≢ 0. If ∆𝜂n+1 f(z) and ∆𝜂n f(z) share ∆𝜂n a(z) CM, where ∆𝜂n a(z) ∈ S ∆𝜂n+1 f(z), then f(z) has a specific expression f(z) = a(z) + BeAz, where A and B are two non-zero constants and a(z) reduces to a constant.

  • It is the most important to select optimal culture conditions to promote safe embryo growth in the technique of human in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer. It has been shown that the addition of biologic fluids, such as blood serum, of various origins, improved fertilization and early cleavage rates in numerous species. The purpose of this study is to attempt to measure developmental potential of mouse eggs fertilized and cleaved in Ham's F10 culture medium containing a chelating agent, EDTA and fetal cord serum. In this study, we selected 40 female mice and 20 male mice, and investigated optimal serum concentrations for mouse embryo growth. Two cell stage mouse embryos were cultured in Ham's F-10 medium, Ham's F-10 medium with various concentrations of EDTA, or Ham's F-10 medium with EDTA and 10% human cord serum. Developmental ratios to morula in Ham's F-10 medium containing various concentrations of EDTA and/or 10% fetal cord serum were significantly higher than in unsupplemented Ham's F-10 medium (p<0.05). Developmental ratios to blastocyst in Ham's F-10 containing 10% fetal cord serum and $50{\mu}M$ or $100{\mu}M$ EDTA were significanltly higher than in unsupplemented Ham's F-10 medium (p<0.05). Developmental ratios to morula in Ham's F-10 containing 10% fetal cord serum and $100{\mu}M$ EDTA were significanltly higher than in Ham's F-10 with 10% fetal cord serum used commonly in many human IVF centers(p<0.05). Developmental ratio to blastocyst in Ham's F-10 containing 10% fetal cord serum and $100{\mu}M$ EDTA was significanlty higher than in Ham's F-10 with $200{\mu}M$ EDTA(P<0.05). In summary, embryo development to morula and blastocyst was significanlty higher in the presence of human cord serum or EDTA than in the unsupplemented medium. The most significanly development to morula and blastocyst was obtained at Ham's F-10 medium with $100{\mu}M$ concentration of EDTA and 10% fetal cord serum. These results suggest that Ham's F-10 medium containing 10% fetal cord serum and optimal concentrations of EDTA significantly promoted early cleavage of mouse zygotes, and these will be useful as basic data for the selection of culture medium in human in vitro fertilization.

  • Let R be a commutative ring with identity, and let $f,\;g_i(i=1,\;\ldots,\;n),\;g_{\alpha}(\alpha{\in}S)$ be elements of R. We show that the following statements are equivalent; (i) $X_f{\subseteq}{\cup}_{\alpha{\in}S}X_{g\alpha}$ only if $X_f{\subseteq}X_{g\alpha}$ for some $\alpha{\in}S$, (ii) $V(f){\subseteq}{\cup}_{\alpha{\in}S}V(g_{\alpha})$ only if $V(f){\subseteq}V(g_{\alpha})$ for some $\alpha{\in}S$, (iii) $V(f){\subseteq}{\cup}^n_{i=1}V(g_i)$ only if $V(f){\subseteq}V(g_i)$ for some i, (iv) Spec(R) is linearly ordered under inclusion.

  • In this article, we consider the uniqueness problem of the shift polynomials $f^n(z)(f^m(z)-1){\prod\limits_{j=1}^{s}}f(z+c_j)^{{\mu}_j}$ and $f^n(z)(f(z)-1)^m{\prod\limits_{j=1}^{s}}f(z+c_j)^{{\mu}_j}$, where f(z) is a transcendental entire function of finite order, cj (j = 1, 2, …, s) are distinct finite complex numbers and n(≥ 1), m(≥ 1), s and µj (j = 1, 2, …, s) are integers. With the concept of weakly weighted sharing and relaxed weighted sharing we obtain some results which extend and generalize some results due to P. Sahoo [Commun. Math. Stat. 3 (2015), 227-238].

  • A local alignment algorithm does comparing two strings and finding a substring pair with size l and similarity s. To find a pair with both sufficient size and high similarity, existing normalization approaches maximize the ratio of the similarity to the size. In this paper, we introduce normalization by functions that maximizes f(s)/g(l), where f and g are non-decreasing functions. These functions, f and g, are determined by experiments comparing DNA sequences. In the experiments, our normalization by functions finds appropriate local alignments. For the previous algorithm, which evaluates the similarity by using the longest common subsequence, we show that the algorithm can also maximize the score normalized by functions, f(s)/g(l) without loss of time.
