SIMPLE ZEROS OF L-FUNCTIONS AND THE WEYL-TYPE SUBCONVEXITY

  • Let f be a self-dual primitive Maass or modular forms for level 4. For such a form f, we define Nsf(T):=|{ρ ∈ ℂ : |𝕵(ρ)| ≤ T, ρ is a non-trivial simple zero of Lf(s)}|.. We establish an omega result for Nsf(T), which is $N^s_f(T) = \Omega(T^{\frac{1}{6}-{\epsilon}})$ for any ∊ > 0. For this purpose, we need to establish the Weyl-type subconvexity for L-functions attached to primitive Maass forms by following a recent work of Aggarwal, Holowinsky, Lin, and Qi.

  • Various plasma instabilities driven by the ion beams have been proposed in order to explain the broadband electrostatic noise (BEN) in the earth's geomagnetic tail. Ion acoustic, ion-ion two stream, and electron acoustic instabilities have been proposed. Here we consider a theoretical investigation of the generation of BEN by cold streaming ion beams in the earth's magnetotail. Linear theory analysis and particle simulation studies for the plasma sheet, which consists of warm electrons and ions as well as cold streaming ion beams, have been done. Both beam-ion acoustic and ion-ion two stream instabilities easily occur when the beam and warm electron temperature ratio, $T_b/T_e$ is small enough. The numerical simulation results confirm the existence of broadband electrostatic noise whose frequency is ranged from $\omega$=0 to $\omega$$\omega_{pe}$.

  • The effect of a periodic and a chaotic' behaviour in the Bonhoeffer-Van der Pol(BVP) oscillation of the nerve membrane driven by a periodic stimulating current $A_1=cos\;{\omega}\;t$ are investigated by numeric analysis and hardware Implementation. To control the chaotic motion, we are suggested by temperature parameter c, $c=c(1+\eta\;cos\;{\Omega}\;t)$ which the values of $\eta,\;Omega$ varied respectively. The feasibilities of chaotic and periodic phenomena were analysed by phase plane and time series.

Low resistivity Ohmic Co/Si/Co contacts to n-type 4H-SiC (낮은 접촉 저항을 갖는 Co/Si/co n형 4H-SiC의 오옴성 접합)

  • Characteristics of ohmic Co/Si/Co contacts to n-type 4H-SiC are investigated systematically. The ohmic contacts were formed by annealing Co/Si/Co sputtered sequentially. The annealings were performed at $800^{\circ}C$ using RTP in vacuum ambient and $Ar:H_2$(9:1) ambient, respectively. The specific contact resistivity$(\rho_c)$, sheet resistance$(R_s)$, contact resistance$(R_c)$, transfer length$(L_T)$ were calculated from resistance$(R_T)$ versus contact spacing(d) measurements obtained from TLM(transmission line method) structure. While the resulting measurement values of sample annealed at vacuum ambient were $\rho_c=1.0{\tiimes}10^{-5}{\Omega}cm^2$, $R_c=20{\Omega}$ and $L_T$ = 6.0 those of sample annealed at $Ar:H_2$(9:1) ambient were $\rho_c=4.0{\tiimes}10^{-6}{\Omega}cm^2$, $R_c=4.0{\Omega}$ and $L_T$ = 2.0. The physical properties of contacts were examined using XRD and AES. The results showed that cobalt silicide was formed on SiC and Co was migrated into SiC.

  • Investigation of resaturation and thermal-hydro-mechanical behavior for the buffer of a repository requires measuring the water content of compacted bentonite. This study investigated the relative humidity of compacted bentonites using a humidity sensor (Vaisala HMT 334) applicable under high temperature and pressure, and then conducted a multi-regression analysis based on the measured results to determine relationships among the water content, relative humidity, and temperature. The relationships for the compacted bentonites with the dry densities of 1,500 $kg/m^3$ and 1,600 $kg/m^3$ were expressed as ${\omega}=0.196RH-0.029T+1.391({r^2=0.96)}$ and ${\omega}=0.199RH-0.029T+2.596({r^2=0.98)}$, respectively. These were then used to interpret the resaturation of bentonite blocks in the KENTEX test.

Novosphingobium ginsenosidimutans sp. nov., with the Ability to Convert Ginsenoside

  • A Gram-negative, strictly aerobic, non-motile, non-spore-forming, and rod-shaped bacterial strain designated FW-$6^T$ was isolated from a freshwater sample and its taxonomic position was investigated by using a polyphasic approach. Strain FW-$6^T$ grew optimally at $10-42^{\circ}C$ and at pH 7.0 on nutrient and R2A agar. Strain FW-$6^T$ displayed ${\beta}$-glucosidase activity that was responsible for its ability to transform ginsenoside $Rb_1$ (one of the dominant active components of ginseng) to Rd. On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity, strain FW-$6^T$ was shown to belong to the family Sphingomonadaceae and was related to Novosphingobium aromaticivorans DSM $12444^T$ (98.1% sequence similarity) and N. subterraneum IFO $16086^T$ (98.0%). The G+C content of the genomic DNA was 64.4%. The major menaquinone was Q-10 and the major fatty acids were summed feature 7 (comprising $C_{18:1}{\omega}9c/{\omega}12t/{\omega}7c$), summed feature 4 (comprising $C_{16:1}{\omega}7c/iso-C_{15:0}2OH$), $C_{16:0}$, and $C_{14:0}$ 2OH. DNA and chemotaxonomic data supported the affiliation of strain FW-$6^T$ to the genus Novosphingobium. Strain FW-$6^T$ could be differentiated genotypically and phenotypically from the recognized species of the genus Novosphingobium. The isolate that has ginsenoside converting ability therefore represents a novel species, for which the name Novosphingobium ginsenosidimutans sp. nov. is proposed, with the type strain FW-$6^T$ (= KACC $16615^T$ = JCM $18202^T$).

The Design of Oxide Module for High Temperature Thermoelectric Power Generation (고온 발전용 산화물 열전모듈의 설계)

  • The one and two pair of oxide modules for high temperature thermoelectric power generation were fabricated with $Ca_{2.7}Bi_{0.3}Co_4O_9$(p-type) and $Ca_{0.96}Bi_{0.04}Mn_{0.96}Nb_{0.04}O_3$(n-type) on $Al_2O_3$ substrate. For the optimizing of the design process, contact resistance was derived from the results of the one pair modules, and then the resistance of two pair modules were calculated to use the derived data. Those values were compared with the measured values for the optimizing of this design process. The resistance of calculated and measured two pairs modules was 0.956 $\Omega$ and 1.110 Q $\Omega$ $T_h$=833 K, respectively, the difference of resistance was about 0.15 $\Omega$. From the result, proposed design process is effective for high temperature thermoelectric oxide modules fabrication.

  • Ein sprachlicher Ausdruck ist in verschiedenen Situationen in einer Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Lesarten oder $Pr\"{a}zisierungen$ verwendbar, und zwar mil dom Grad an $Pr\"{a}zision$, der den jeweiligen kormmunikativen Erfordernissen angemessen ist. Sokommt Vagheit/$Ambiguit\"{a}t$ in sprachlichen Ausdrucken fast $durchg\"{a}ngig$ vol. In der vorliegenden Albeit wird die $M\"{o}glichkeit$ der semantischen $\"{U}bersetzung$ der Skalaradjektiven($gro{\ss}$, klein, $hei{\ss}$, kalt, schwer, leicht, schnell, langsam usw.) untersucht, die eigentlich die Vagheit als eine der konstitutiven Eigenschaften haben. Den Schwerpunkt $daf\"{u}r$ bildet die semantische Analyse $\"{u}ber$ die Graduierbarkeit und Vergleichbarkeit der Positivformen der Adjektiven, die vol allem M.J.Cresswell 1976 in seiner Albeit formuliert hat. Chitinimonas naiadis sp. nov., Isolated from a Freshwater River

  • A rod shaped, aerobic, Gram-stain-negative, and motile bacterium, strain $AR2^T$, was isolated from a water sample of Yeongsan river, Republic of Korea. Strain $AR2^T$ clustered closely with the members of the genus Chitinimonas and showed the highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity with Chitinimonas prasina $LY03^T$ (96.4%), Chitinimonas viridis $HMD2169^T$ (96.4%), Chitinimonas taiwanensis $cf^T$ (96.2%), and Chitinimonas koreensis $R2A43-10^T$ (94.2%). The predominant fatty acids of strain $AR2^T$ were identified to be summed feature 3 (comprising $C_{16:1}{\omega}7c$ and/or $C_{16:1}{\omega}6c$), $C_{16:0}$, and $C_{10:0}3-OH$. Diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, and phosphatidylethanolamine were found to be the major polar lipids. The genomic DNA G+C content was 60.4 mol%. Based on the polyphasic characterization, the isolated strain $AR2^T$ is described as a representative of a novel species in the genus Chitinimonas, for which the name Chitinimonas naiadis sp. nov. (type strain =$AR2^T$ =KCTC $42755^T$ =JCM $31504^T$) is proposed.

BLOW-UP FOR A NON-NEWTON POLYTROPIC FILTRATION SYSTEM WITH NONLINEAR NONLOCAL SOURCE

  • This paper deals the global existence and blow-up properties of the following non-Newton polytropic filtration system, $${u_t}-{\triangle}_{m,p}u=u^{{\alpha}_1}\;{\int}_{\Omega}\;{\upsilon}^{{\beta}_1}\;(x,\;t)dx,\;{\upsilon}_t-{\triangle}_{n,p}{\upsilon}={\upsilon}^{{\alpha}_2}\;{\int}_{\Omega}\;u^{{\beta}_2}\;(x,{\;}t)dx,$$ with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition. Under appropriate hypotheses, we prove that the solution either exists globally or blows up in finite time depends on the initial data and the relations of the parameters in the system.
