  • This paper introduces a stabilization condition for polynomial fuzzy systems that guarantees $H_{\infty}$ performance under the imperfect premise matching. An $H_{\infty}$ control of polynomial fuzzy systems attenuates the effect of external disturbance. Under the imperfect premise matching, a polynomial fuzzy model and controller do not share the same membership functions. Therefore, a polynomial fuzzy controller has an enhanced design flexibility and inherent robustness to handle parameter uncertainties. In this paper, the stabilization conditions are derived from the polynomial Lyapunov function and numerically solved by the sum-of-squares (SOS) method. A simulation example and comparison of the performance are provided to verify the stability analysis results and demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed stabilization conditions.

  • A submerged vehicle which is a nonlinear multivariable system must be designed to be roubst against inner-outer perturbations and hydrodynamic disturbances induces maneuvering operation. But a practical design of motion controller is limited by both mathematical modeling error and linearization errors. Performance of a motion controller based on traditional design method is very poor when the vehicle motion is under wave force distrubacnes near sea surface. Therefore, this ppaer proposes a design method of $^{\infty}$ controller under model uncertainty and sea wave disturbances. performance of the controllers by both computer simulation and HILS (hardwave in the loop simulation) shows that $H^{\infty}$ controller is more robust than PID controller under model uncertainty and high sea state...

  • An H$_{\infty}$ control system design for a magnetic levitation system is presented. In the control system design, we consider the influence of both disturbances and uncertainties in the model. The main disturbances stem from the position sensors. The uncertainties are divided into electromagnetic and mechanical ones: the former are due to the gain change in the current amplifier, the influence of leakage flux and modelling error in the magnetic circuit and the latter are due to the changes of the mass and the moments of inertia of the vehicle. Therefore, the designed controller is indispensable to guarantee the robustness of this system for both stability and performance. The controller design is based on the standard H$_{\infty}$ optimal control problem. As the novel features in this paper :(1) there are two poles on j.omega.-axis in the control model;(2) an integrator is included in the controller so that equivalently there are three poles on j.omega.-axis in the model. Finally, several experiments and simulations are carried out to verify the high performance and robustness of the designed control system.m.

  • This paper presents a robust vibration control methodology of smart structural systems. The governing equations and associated boundary conditions are derived by Hamilton's principle. A robust controller is designed using a linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach to the multiobjective synthesis. The design objectives are to achieve a mix of H$\sub$$\infty$/ performance and H$_2$ performance satisfying constraints on the closed-loop pole locations in the face of model uncertainties. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of LMI approach in damping out the multiple modes of vibration of the piezo/beam system.

  • In this paper, robust motion control of a flexible micro-actuator is presented. The actuator is made of a bimorph piezoelectric high-polymer material (PVDF). No mathematical model system can exactly model a physical system such a flexible micro-actuator. For this reason we must be aware of how modeling errors might adversely affect the performance of a control system for such a model. The H method addresses a wide range of the control problems, combining the frequency and time domain approaches. The design is an optimal one in the sense of minimization of the maximum of the closed-loop transfer function. It includes colored measurement and process noise. It also addresses the issues of robustness due to model uncertainties, and is applicable to the, flexible micro-actuator control problem. Therefore, we adopt the H control problem to the robust motion control of the flexible micro-actuator. Theoretical and experimental results demonstrate the satisfactory performance and the effectiveness of the designed controller. the effectiveness of the designed controller.

  • This paper describes a state feedback controller design method of the integral type magnetic levitation servo system which satisfies the design objectives. The design objective is a $H_{\infty}$ performance, asymptotic disturbance rejection and a robust pole assignment in linear matrix inequality(LMI) region. To the end, we investigated the validity of the designed controller which considering a robust pole assignment region, through results of simulation.

The design objectives can be a H$\_$$\infty$/ performance, asymptotic disturbance rejection, time-domain constraints, on the closed-lnp pole location. To the end, we investigated the validity of the designed controller through results of simulation.

  • The H$_{\infty}$ algorithms of the mixed weight sensitivity is used for the robust design of the reactor power control system. The mixed weight sensitivity method requires the selection of the proper weighting functions for the loop shaping in frequency domain. The complexity of the system equation and the non-convexity of the problem make it very difficult to determine the weighting functions. The genetic algorithm which is improved and hybridized with the simulated annealing is applied to determine the weighting functions. This approach permits an automatic calculation and the resultant system shows good robustness and performance.

  • In this paper, a delay-dependent $H_{\infty}$ filtering problem is investigated for discrete-time delayed nonlinear systems which include a more general sector nonlinear function instead of employing the commonly used Lipschitz-type function. By using the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approach, a less conservative sufficient condition is established for the existence of the desired filter, and then, the corresponding solvability condition guarantee the stability of the filter with a prescribed $H_{\infty}$ performance level. Finally, two simulation examples are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed filtering scheme.
