  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of polishing methods on the color stability of composite resins. Materials and Methods: Two bulk-fill and four conventional resin composites were filled in cylindrical molds (6 mm diameter, 4 mm height) and light-cured. The specimens were stored in $34^{\circ}C$ distilled water for 24 h. Spectrophotometer was used to determine the color value according to the CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ color space. Each group was divided into three groups according to polishing methods (n = 5). Group 1 was control group (Mylar strip group), group 2 was polished with PoGo, and group 3 was polished with Sof-Lex Spiral wheels. Color evaluation was performed weekly for 4 weeks after immersion in $34^{\circ}C$ distilled water. The results were analyzed by generalized least squares method (P < 0.05). Results: Generalized least squares analysis revealed that Sof-Lex Spiral wheels group showed the significantly lower ${\Delta}E$ values compared to PoGo and control group (P < 0.05). The ${\Delta}E$ values of polished group showed the significantly lower than the ${\Delta}E$ values of unpolished group (P < 0.05). Regarding color changes of composite resins, there was no significant difference between the ${\Delta}E$ values of Filtek Z250 and Filtek Z350 XT Universal restorative in all time intervals (P < 0.05). Tetric N-Ceram Bulk Fill showed the significantly lower ${\Delta}E$ values compared to other composite resins in 1, 2, 3 weeks (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Within the limitations of this study, polishing methods influence the color stabilities of composite resins. The group polished with Sof-Lex Spiral Wheels showed more resistance to discoloration than group polished with PoGo.

  • Quantitative assessment of edge blunting of saw-teeth was carried out by TALYSURF. 1. Using the following equation, the real shape of a saw-tooth can be traced on the graph of TALYSURF. ${\frac{{\Delta}h}{h}}={\frac{V{\Delta}_x}{V_x}}$ {${\Delta}h$: vertical distance of stylus h: vertical distance in chart $V{\Delta}_x$: Velocity of stylus $V_x$: velocity of chart} 2. As shown on Fig 2, the error from stylus itself can be calculated by following equation. i) 13.8${\mu}{\leqq}$x<20.4${\mu}$ y=-0.2246x+4.59${\mu}$ ii) 0${\leqq}$x<13.8${\mu}$ y=${\sqrt{(-18{\mu})^2-x^2}}-1.42x+32.7{\mu}}$ 3. The relationship between profile of saw-tooth and error from stylus itself can be calculated by following equation. $E(%)=\frac{f(r){\times}{\frac{4}{18{\mu}}}}{f(R){\times}{\frac{R}{18.5{\mu}}}-f(r){\times}{\frac{r}{18{\mu}}}}{\times}100$ {E(%)${\frac{error\;of\;stylus}{dullness\;of\;saw\;tooth}}{\times}100$ r: radius of stylus tip R: radius of tip which is drawn in graph of talysurf f(r) : error of stylus f(R) : dullness of tip which is drawn in graph of talysurf} 4. The graph of maximum error and profile of saw-tooth was parabola.

  • This paper proposes a design procedure based on the LQG/LTR (Linear Quadratic Gaussian/ Loop Transfer Recovery) method for a launch vehicle. Continuous-discrete type LQG/LTR compensators are designed using the e-transformation to overcome numerical problems occurring in the process of discretization. The e-LQG/LTR compensator using the e-transformation is compared width the z-LQG/LTR compensator using the z-transformation. The performance of the overall system controlled by the compensator is evaluated via simulations, which show that the discretization error problem is resolved and the control performances are satisfactory in the proposed compensator.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of two types of coloring agents and the number of application on the color of zirconia. Materials and methods: Monolithic zirconia specimens ($15.7mm{\times}15.7mm{\times}2.0mm$) (n = 33) was prepared and divided into 11 groups. Each experimental group was coded as a1-a5, w1-w5 according to the type of coloring agent and number of application. Specimens with no coloring agent applied were set as control group. The color difference of specimen was measured by using double-beam spectrophotometer, and calculated color difference (${{\Delta}E^*}_{ab}$), translucency parameter (TP). All data was analyzed with two-way ANOVA, multiple comparison $Sch{\acute{e}}ffe$ test, Pearson correlation and linear regression analysis. Results: As the number of application increased, values of $CIE\;L^*$ was decreased, but values of $CIE\;b^*$ was increased in both coloring agents. However, there was no significant difference on values of translucency parameter. The color difference range of each group was ${0.87{\Delta}E^*}_{ab}$ to ${9.43{\Delta}E^*}_{ab}$. Conclusion: In this study, type of coloring agent and the number of application did not affect the color difference of zirconia.

  • To reduce the dependence of wool dyeing on the temperature several solvents with different properties and structures were added to the dye bath of C. I. Acid Yellow 42. Nearly the same total solubility parameters(${\delta}_t$) of solvents as those of wool fiber and hydrophobic part of the dyestuff were needed to increase disaggregation of dye molecules, loosening the wool fiber and wickabilty of dyeing solution; besides, the large surface tension(${\gamma}$) value of the solvents and the well balanced values of the three-component Hansen solubility parameters such as dispersion(${\delta}_d$), polar(${\delta}_p$), and hydrogen(${\delta}_h$) bonding parameters were required. Among the added solvents dimethyl phthalate(DMP) and acetophenone(AP) were satisfied with these conditions and worked the most successfully in the low temperature wool dyeing. Their effectiveness proven by the dyeing rate and the activation energy ($E_a$) of the dyeing was in the order of DMP > AP > DBE > CH > M >NONE. In conclusion the total solubility parameters(${\delta}_t$), the three-component Hansen parameters and the surface tension(${\gamma}$) of DMP and AP could be the guidelines to select suitable solvents for low temperature wool dyeing.

  • It has been studied the flow near a rotating disk with surface topography. The system Ekman number is assumed very small, i.e., $E[{\equiv}\frac{\nu}{{\Omega}^{\ast}L^{\ast2}}]<<1$ in which $L^{\ast}$ denotes a disk radius, ${\nu}$ kinematic viscosity of the fluid and ${\Omega}^{\ast}$ angular velocity of the basic state. Disk surface has a sinusoidal topographic variation along radial coordinate, i.e., $z={\delta}cos(2{\pi}{\omega}r)$, where ${\delta}$ and ${\omega}$ are, respectively, nondimensional amplitude and wave number of the disk surface. Analytic solutions, being useful over the parametric ranges of ${\delta}{\sim}O$( $E^{1/2}$ ) and ${\omega}{\leq}O$ ( $E^{1/2}$ ), are secured in a series-function form of Fourier-Bessel type. An asymptotic behavior, when $E{\rightarrow}0$, is clarified as : for a disk with surface roughness, in contrast to the case of a flat disk, the azimuthal velocity increases in magnitude, together with the thickening boundary layer. The radial velocity, however, decreases in magnitude as the amplitude of surface waviness increases. Consequently, the overall Ekman pumping at the edge of the boundary layer remains unchanged, maintaining the constant value equal to that of the flat disk.

  • Suppose G is a simple graph. The ${\ell}$-eigenvalues ${\delta}_1$, ${\delta}_2$,..., ${\delta}_n$ of G are the eigenvalues of its normalized Laplacian ${\ell}$. The normalized Laplacian Estrada index of the graph G is dened as ${\ell}EE$ = ${\ell}EE$(G) = ${\sum}^n_{i=1}e^{{\delta}_i}$. In this paper the basic properties of ${\ell}EE$ are investigated. Moreover, some lower and upper bounds for the normalized Laplacian Estrada index in terms of the number of vertices, edges and the Randic index are obtained. In addition, some relations between ${\ell}EE$ and graph energy $E_{\ell}$(G) are presented.

  • An f-coloring of a graph G = (V, E) is a coloring of edge set E such that each color appears at each vertex v $\in$ V at most f(v) times. The minimum number of colors needed to f-color G is called the f-chromatic index $\chi'_f(G)$ of G. Any graph G has f-chromatic index equal to ${\Delta}_f(G)\;or\;{\Delta}_f(G)+1,\;where\;{\Delta}_f(G)\;=\;max\{{\lceil}\frac{d(v)}{f(v)}{\rceil}\}$. If $\chi'_f(G)$= ${\Delta}$f(G), then G is of $C_f$ 1 ; otherwise G is of $C_f$ 2. In this paper, the classification problem of complete graphs on f-coloring is solved completely.

  • The effect of heat input on the content of residual .delta.-ferrite and the hot cracking susceptibility in the austenitic stainless steel overlaid on the carbon steel was studied in the range of heat input from 7.5 to 15.1 KJ/cm. Present study shows that residual .delta.-ferrite content in the overlay is mainly determined by the dilution of the base metal (carbon steel) which is in turn affected by heat input, i.e. the amount of dilution decreases as heat input increase. Accordingly, higher heat input results in a substantial increase in Cr equivalent but a little increase in Ni equivalent due to the less dilution of carbon from base metal. This fact can explain the result obtained in this study, i, e, the higher content of .delta.-ferrite in the weld deposit made with higher heat input. This in turn causes more resistant overlaying weld metal to hot cracking.
