  • We propose a method for the implementation of an EtherCAT communication bus in a Linux-based open source Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) system. Recently, increasingly more CNC systems support real-time Ethernet protocols such as EtherCAT, which is a high-performance industrial communication protocol. For real-time CNC control over an Ethernet-based protocol, an additional layer driver needs to be implemented between the CNC system and the master of industrial communication protocol. Among the various solutions for the connection layer driver, we employ a Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) driver based on Linux. The operation of the implemented CNC system is demonstrated and confirmed by Hal Meter, which is used to observe the pins, signals, or parameters of HAL.

  • Application of exogenous polyamines (PAs) reduced the paraquat (PQ)-induced cotyledon injuries in radish seedling plants with 1 mM spermidine (Spd) being the most effective protectant. PQ injury symptoms in the cotyledons, e.g., large accumulation of $H_2O_2$, and losses of fresh weight, chlorophyll, and proteins, were significantly alleviated. Likewise, analysis of $H_2O_2$-scavenging enzymes such as catalase (CAT) and guaiacol peroxidase (GPX) showed that pretreatment with Spd among PAs remarkably increased total CAT activity and strongly retarded PQ-induced rapid decline in total GPX activity. In a native gel assay, one CAT isozyme (CAT1) and two GPX isozymes (GPX1 and a newly synthesized GPX isozyme) proved to be more responsible for PQ tolerance, as manifested by the strong increases in their activities by Spd pretreatment. Based on these results, we can suggest that PAs (especially 1 mM Spd) may function as antioxidant protectors by invoking CAT and GPX enzymes which control the endogenous $H_2O_2$ level in radish cotyledons exposed to PQ.

  • Wireless Personal Area Networks(WAPANs) are designed for short-range ad hoc connectivity among portable devices. They have gained much attention in the industry recently. One of them, High-rate WPAN, is designed to support multimedia traffic that requires high data rates. But, High-rate WPAN standards don't specify the time slot assignment scheduling method of CAT(Channel Time Allocation). So, there has been many studies regarding time slot assignment scheduling of CAT. However, present studies involve demerits about not applying various types of errors in air interlace or having a starvation of a specific DEV(data device). In this paper, we propose algorithms about supplying the intermediate channel assignment in order to avoid these demerits. This method will help other methods that use time slot assignment scheduling of CTA.

  • In this paper, we construct an iteration scheme involving a hybrid pair of the Suzuki generalized nonexpansive single-valued and multi-valued mappings in a complete CAT(0) space. In process, we remove a restricted condition (called end-point condition) in Akkasriworn and Sokhuma's results [2] in Banach spaces and utilize the same to prove some convergence theorems. The results in this paper, are analogs of the results of Akkasriworn et al. [3] in Banach spaces.

  • The purpose of this paper, we prove convergence theorems of the modified viscosity inexact Mann iteration process for a family of asymptotically quasi-nonexpansive type mappings in CAT(0) spaces. We also show that the limit of the modified viscosity inexact Mann iteration {xn} solves the solution of some variational inequality.

  • We construct an iteration scheme involving a hybrid pair of mappings, one a single-valued asymptotically nonexpansive mapping t and the other a multivalued nonexpansive mapping T, in a complete CAT(0) space. In the process, we remove a restricted condition (called the end-point condition) from results of Akkasriworn and Sokhuma [1] and and use this to prove some convergence theorems. The results concur with analogues for Banach spaces from Uddin et al. [16].

  • In this paper, BLDC spindle motor is designed using CAE/CAT to reduce structural vibration. Motor is modeled and analyzed using a finite element analysis (FEA) program and correlated to the results of modal test. Design sensitivity analysis (DSA) of frequency is carried out and validated by the modal test of modified motor manufactured. This study shows that simulation-based design can improve quality with reduced development time.

  • The purpose of this paper is to establish strong convergence of an implicit iteration process to a common fixed point for a finite family of asymptotically quasi-nonexpansive type mappings in CAT(0) spaces. Our results improve and extend the corresponding results of Fukhar-ud-din et al. [15] and some others from the current literature.

  • An 8-year old castrated domestic long-hair cat was presented with a two week history of abdominal distension. Physical examination revealed a non-painful, fluctuant, palpable mass in the right craniodorsal abdomen, and unilaterally muffled heart sounds on the right thorax. Routine clinico-pathological values were unremarkable apart from mild azotemia with a concurrent urine specific gravity of 1.031, which reflect a degree of renal dysfunction. Radiographic and ultrasound examinations of the thorax revealed the cardiac enlargement to be due to the congenital peritoneo-pericardial diaphragmatic hernia with liver occupying the right half of the pericardial sac. There was also a mild gypertrophy of the heart. Radiography and ultrasonography of the abdomen showed the mass to be composed of a large fluid filled cystic structures surrounding the right and left kidneys, and the kidneys themselves were of increased echogenecity. A diagnosis of perinephric pseudocysts was made. The patient responded well to the surgical procedures. Perinephric pseudocysts and peritoneo-pericardial diaphragmatic hernia in the cat are rare, and a case is described and the literature is reviewed in this report.

  • A cat is able to quickly recover balance from unstable posture. To observe the balance recovery procedure of the cat, an impulse is applied to the cat while walking on a narrow bridge. We find that it rotates its tail toward the falling direction. In our previous research, the balance recovery procedure is analyzed based on the law of the angular momentum conservation and then a key equation is derived to maintain the balance. However, it did not consider the gravity, so the performance is not good. In this paper, a new dynamic model is proposed using the Lagrangian mechanics. In the method, the gravity is included in the potential energy. Through the proposed dynamic model, controlling the balance of a walking robot is possible.
