As the offshore oil fields are moved to the deep ocean, the oil production systems of FPSO(Floating production storage and offloading system) are building these days and so it is the most important to estimate the drift motion and damping effects the drift motion importantly. The components of damping consist of viscous, wave radiation effect and wave drift damping. It is need to estimate the wave drift damping exactly among them. The wave drift damping means the change rate of mean wave drift force with respect to the ship and ocean structures speed. In order to calculate this, the 3-Dimensional panel method used to translating and pulsating Green function is adopted. The calculation is carried out for series 60(CB = 0.7) vessel and the results are compared with other theoretical ones.

해저관로가 노출되어 있을 경우 파도와 조류 등에 의한 외적 하중으로부터 안정적이어야 한다. 트랜치 구간 내의 해저관로에 작용하는 유체 입자의 속도와 가속도는 해저면과 비교하여 볼 때 현저히 감소하므로 감쇄 계수를 사용하여 트랜치 구간 내에 설치되는 해저관로의 안정성을 해석한다. 그러나, 다양한 트랜치 구간의 깊이와 기울기에 대한 감쇄 계수에 대해 많은 자료가 부족하여 실제 설계에는 한정된 계수들이 이용된다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 깊이와 기울기를 가진 트랜치 구간의 실험 모형을 제작하여 회류 수조에서 P.I.V(입자 영상 속도계) 기법을 이용하여 여러 속도에 대하여 실험을 수행하였다. 다양한 트랜치 구간 내의 실린더 주변의 유동 특성과 유체 입자의 수평 속도를 측정하여 항력 감쇄 계수를 산출해 냈으며 실제 해양 공사에서 적용 가능한 안정성 해석 기준을 제시하였다.

This paper is transient motions of a very large floating structure subjected to dynamic load induced by wave. A time domain method is applied to the hydroelasticity problems for this purpose. The method is based on source-dipole and FEM scheme and on Newmark
$\beta$ method to pursuit time step process taking advantage of the memory effect. The present method is appied to hydroelastic response analysis in regular waves and impact responses due to dropping aircraft. -
The Green integral equation for the calculation of the forward-speed time-harmonic radiation-diffraction potentials IS derived. The forward-speed Green function presented by Brard is used and the correct free surface boundary condition for the Green function is imposed. The cause of the mistakes in the existing Green integral equation is also pointed out.

This paper describes a numerical study to make clear the characteristics of flow around a high speed catamaran hull advancing on calm water. The simulation is carried out at Froude number of 0.5 with a separation to length rations of 0.2 to 0.5. To simulate the flows, the Navier-Stokes solver is employed in which the free surface condition is included. Computations are performed in a rectangular grid system based grid system based on the Marker & Cell method. For the validation, the computation results are compared with the experiments.

The piercing and blanking of thin sheet metal working is specified division in press die design and making. In order to prevent the detects, the optimum design of the production part, strip process layout, die design, die making and try out etc. are necessary the analysis of effective factors. For example, theory and practice of metal shearing process and its phenomena, die structure, machine tool working for die making, die materials and its heat treatment, metal working in industrial and its know how etc. In this study, we analyzed whole of data base, theoretical back ground of metal working process, and then performed the progressive die tryout with the screw press. This study regards to the aim of small quantity of production parts press working. Part 1 of this study reveals with production part and strip process layout design.

Presented are the estimation of the probability distribution of fatigue crack growth life and reliability assessment of structures by simulating material resistance to fatigue crack growth along a crack path. The material resistance is treated as a Weibull stochastic process. A non-Gaussian stochastic fields simulation method proposed by Shimozuka, et al is applied with the statistical data obtained experimentally. Test results are obtained for
$\Delta$ K constant amplitude load in tension with stress ratio of R=0.2 and three specimen thicknesses of 6, 12 and 18mm. This simulation method is useful to estimate the probability distribution of fatigue crack growth life and the smallest life. -
The progressive die are multiple operations performed by means of a die having above two stages, on the each of stages performs a different operation as the sheet metal passes through the die hole. In the field of design and making tool for press working, the progressive die for sheet metal (STS 304, thickness : 0.5mm) is a specific division. In order to prevent the defects, the optimum design of the production part, strip layout, die design, die making and tryout etc. are necessary. They require analysis of many kinds of important factors, I. e. theory and practice of metal press working and its phenomena, die structure, machining condition for die making, die materials, heat treatment of die components, know-how and so on. In this study, we designed and constructed a progressive die of multi-stage and performed try out. Out of these processes the die development could be taken for advance. Especially the result of tryout and its analysis become the characteristics of this paper (part 1 and part 2) that nothing might be ever seen before such as this type of research method on all the processes. In the part 1 of this study we treated die design mostly.

Demand for new nondestructive evaluations is growing to detect tensile crack growth behavior to predict long term performance of materials and structure in aggressive environments, especially when they are in non-visible area. Acoustic emission technique is well suited to these problems and has drawn a keen interests because of its dynamic detection ability, extreme sensitivity and location of growing defects. In this study, we analysed acoustic emission signals obtained in tensile test of high strength fire resistance steel for frame structure with time frequency analysis methods. The results obtained are summaries as follows ; In the T and TN specimen consisting of ferrite and pearlite grains, most of acoustic emission events were produced near yield point, mainly due to the dislocation activities during the deformation. However, B specimen under
$600^{\circ}C$ - 10min had a two peak which was attribute to the presence of martensite phase. The first peak is before yield point the second is after yield point. The sources of second acoustic emission peak were the debonding of martensite-martensite interface and the micro-cracking of brittle martensite phase. In$600^{\circ}C$ -30min to$700^{\circ}C$ -60min specimens, many signals were observed from area before yield point and counts were decreased after yield point. -
This paper describes the need for a ductile Fiber Reinforced Plastic(FRP) reinforcement for concrete structures. Using the material hybrid and geometric hybrid. it is demonstrated that the pseudo-ductility characteristic can be generated in FRP rebar. Ductile hybrid FRP bars were successfully fabricated at 4mm and 10mm nominal diameters using an hand lay up method. Tensile specimens from these bars were tested and compared with behavior of FRP rebar and steel bar

A very large floating structure has rather small motion characteristics as to the whole body, while the motion at end part of such structure becomes largest due to the elastic motion of the structure. This paper presents on the theoretical result on the relative motion characteristics and green water phenomena of VLFS in waves This phenomena affect not only to strength of the structure but also the determination of depth of structure. To predict motion responses of structure in regular waves, the source-dipole distribution method and F.E.M is used By irregular wave results, the probability of occurrence of green water and response of the structure were calculated.

Linear and nonlinear motion responses of a Tension Leg Platform(TLP) was investigated by model tests. The model tests were carried out at KRISO's Ocean Engineering Basin which has a deep pit of which diameter and depth are 5 meters and 12.5 meters, respectively. Optical sensors were used for measuring drift motions, and a set of accelerometers were employed for analyzing wave frequency motions. ISSC TLP was chosen as the model for the present study. Scale ratio was 1/65 and elastic modelling of tether system were conducted. Very good agreement was obtained between experimental results and theoretical calculations not only in linear motion responses but tension responses, nonlinear wave drift force and double frequency excitations.

We revisit the arrested Ekman boundary layer problem, using a fully non-linear numerical model with the subgrid dissipation modeled by the large eddy simulation method (LES). The main objective of this study is to find out whether the dynamic balance of the arrested Ekman boundary layer explained by MacCready and Rhines (1991) is valid for high Reynolds number. The model solution indicates that for high Reynolds number and low Richardson number flows, the density anomaly diffusion by near-wall turbulent action may become intense enough to homogenize completely the density structure within the boundary layer, in the direction perpendicular to the sloping wall. Then the buoyancy effect becomes negligible allowing a near-equilibrium Ekman boundary layer flow to persist for a long period.

Unlike structures in the air, the vibration analysis of a submerged or floating structure such as offshore structures or ships is possible only when the fluid-structure interaction is understood, as the whole or part of the structure is in contact with water. Specially, the importance of the added mass is not necessary to say like the submerged vehicle, all of the hull body, is positioned in the water. This paper introduce two method to find natural frequency in consideration of fluid-structure modal coupled vibration analysis. The purpose of this study is to analyze of the vibration characteristic of submerged vehicle to obtain the anti-vibration design data, which could be used in the preliminary design stage data. Underwater pressure hull of submerged vehicle is used as the model of this study. The F.E.M model is meshed by shell and beam element. Also, considering of the inner hull weight, mass element is distributed in the direction of hull length. Numerical calculations are accomplished using the commercial B.E.M code. The characteristics of natural frequency(eigenvalues), mode shape(eigenvectors) and frequency-displacement response are analyzed. The results of this study will be used as the useful design data in preliminary anti-vibration design stage.

Because the structural elements used in the automobile, astronautic and ship industries are put in dynamic loading environments, much interest is given to the damping of the structural elements, as well as high flexural rigidity and strength per density. Therefore, in this study, the structural damping value of the aluminum honeycomb sandwich plate(AHCP) has been experimentally extracted, and directly applied to the finite element, for the dynamic analysis of the plate considering the structural damping. The analysis results of this theory was compared with the results of the actual modal analysis method. It was observable that the two analyses concurred, establishing the structural damping and analysis method of the AHSP.

This research is a new design method, which will be presented as a basic concept for a more efficient minimum weight design of grillages, as an attempt to describe true collapse mechanism in as overall search as possible. It serves as introduction to the numerical technique of Linear Programming(LP) and Automatic Modified Direct Plastic Frame Analysis(AMDPFA). Attention is directed to both analysis and design, and emphasis is placed on the physical significance of Systematic Searching Techniques(SST) involved. In weight minimum grillages design, the parameterisation study in optimum beam configuration which was carried out over the range of beam sections for a given plastic section modulus likely to occur in structures by suing an adaptive stochastic optimisation technique, Genetic Algorithms.

Drilling Jig is the device according to industrial demand for multi manufacturing products on the growing at alarming rate. In the field of design and making for machine tool working, welding, assembling with jig and fixture for mass production is a specific division. In order to prevent the production defects the optimum design of product, fig and fixture putting in the field is very significant manufacturing method. They require analysis of many kinds of important factors, theory and practice of machine tool operating process and its phenomena, jig & fixture structure, machining condition for tool making tool materials, heat treatment of jig & fixture components, know-how and so on. In this study we designed and constructed a drilling jig of mass production and performed tryout under the Auto CAD, database, and window environment. Especially Part1 of this study is reveals with the analysis of part drawing, jig planning, jig design etc.

The analysis was carried out for a riser installation by a J-tube pulling method. The J-tube system components, mechanics of pull-in operation, and the theoretical background for the J-tube pull-in was investigated. A computer program was developed to calculate the pull-in force for a riser installation by a J-tube pulling method.

In these days, the pollution of marine environment near island at Korean coastal zone caused by the trash, human waste and livestocks excreta become series problem. One of the most economic and efficient way to prevent this pollution problem is to set up island circulating incineration system. In this paper, the results of feasibility study on the application of turtle boat hull form to the incinearting vessel has been summarized especially for the resistance and course keeping point of view.

This paper deals with the ways how the AUV can detect and treat possible emergency situations during the mission. The emergency situations can be divided into two parts according to the zones where the situations take place-inner zone, and outer zone. This paper explains how each element of emergency situation is detected and treated, and as a result, introduce the algorithm of this procedure for the autonomous cruising.

In this paper some shapes of the FBW cross sections were examined to improve the performance of FBW for the long wave. Trapezoidal section and prominence section were examined. Linear potential theory is used and the boundary element method is use for numerical computation. Proper choice of the pontoon geometry may improve the transmission coefficient in the long wave range for a given wave period.

The spectral method which is composed of an eigenfunction expansion of free modes in the wave number domain is used to produce two dimensional unsteady inviscid wave simulation such as progressive waves in a numerical pneumatic wave tank. A spatial and time dependent free surface elevation and the potential are calculated by integrating ODE derived from fully nonlinear kinematic and dynamic free surface boundary condition at each time step. The nonlinear characteristics in the waves by this method were notable as increasing wave steepness. This method is very useful and powerful in terms of saving computational time caused by rapid convergence exponentially with increasing number of nodes, even preserving accurate numerical results. Moreover, it will given us many possibilities to apply to naval and ocean engineering fields.

The application as the parts of an automobile, using the property of GMT-Sheet, is increasing. In order to exchange the parts of an automobile for GMT-Sheet, at first, the establishment and joining problem of exact joining strength must be determined. We have studied it using composites which is not same each other fiber oriented condition so as to determine joining strength and joining condition of GMT-Sheet. In this study, the result of experiment of forming condition concerned joining problem of GMT-Sheet is this ; joining efficiency of GMT-Sheet, increases as lap joint length L increases. Increase of compression ration cause decrease of joining efficiency after of GMT-Sheet, joining. In the viewpoint of recycling, randomly oriented composite of GMT-Sheet is desirable more than unidirectional oriented composite. We have better design the structure so as not occur to stress centralization on the joining part.

The remote measurement system(RMS) as a new experimental method is limited in its application to crack measurements at elevated temperatures because of the oxide layer on the specimen surface. Since TiAlN and Cr coating layers have a high resistance to oxidation and wear, this paper proposed a TiAlN and Cr coating technique for specimens to facilitate the measurement of crack growth behavior using RMS. To investigate the effects of the coating layer, tension and fatigue tests were carried out at room temperature and at 538
$^{\circ}C$ , using specimens of 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V steel. From the experimental results, it was found that the mechanical properties of the TiAlN and Cr coated specimens were similar to those of the substrate. Accordingly, the TiAlN and Cr coated layer had hardly any influence on the fatigue crack propagation. -
This purpose of this study is to investigate the combustion emission characteristics on the effect of secondary air injection in combustion field of model gas turbine combustor changing excess air ratio. For this purpose, meantemperature, CO, CO2, O2 and HC concentration were measured by changing excess air ratio and secondary air injection. As a result of this study, meantemperature, CO2 emission was decreased and CO emission increased by increasing the excess air ratio of secondary air. therefore, This paper showed the effect of Secondary air injection on flame structure, combustion emission characteristics.

Due to the rapid growth of ship building industry and increment of ship construction in Korea, several hundred thousand of lifting lugs per year, have been installed at the lifting positions of ship block and removed after finishing their function, therefore, appropriate design system for strength check or optimal design of each lug structure has been required in order to increase the capability of efficient design. In this study, design system of D-type lifting lug structure which is most popular and useful in shipyards, was developed for the purpose of initial design of lug structure. Developed system layout and graphic user interface for this design system based on the C++ language were explained step by step. Using this design system, more efficient performance of lug structural design will be expected on the windows of personal computer.

In this paper a complicated structural behavior in collision and its effect of energy translation to the collision bulkhead was examined through a methodology of the numerical simulation to obtain a ideal bow construction and a location of collision bulkhead against head on collision. In the present the bow structure is normally designed in consideration of its specific structural arrangements and internal and external loads in these area such as hydrostatic and dynamic pressure, wave impact and bottom slamming in accordance with the Classification rules, and the specific location of collision bulkhead by SOLAS requirement. By these studies the behavior of the bow collapse due to collision was synthetically evaluated for the different size of tankers and its operational speed limits, and by the result of these simulation it provides the optimal design concept for the low construction to prevent the subsequent plastic deformation onto or near to the collision bulkhead boundary and to determine the rational location of collision bulkhead.

This paper is concerned with development of the production-oriented structural design information system to predict the inaccuracy level of panel blocks and to consider the result at the structural design stage. Emphasis is placed on that the inaccuracy during production should likely be considered at the structural design stage to reduce the undesirable adjusting work and therefore to enhance the productivity. The primary goal of the present study is to consider the productivity and the efficient design at the same time for a high quality product of panel block. Usefulness of the developed information are illustrated through some application examples.

This paper proposes a new wave absorber made of flexible net structures. The motivation of this research is that the wave absorbers which already invented are not effective in small wave flume. The proposed new wave absorber demonstrated its efficiency when used in small-length wave flume.

본 연구는 우리나라 연안해역의 파랑특성과 기존에 개발된 방파제의 특성을 근거로 하여 개념만 정립되어 있는 Active Device형 부유식 방파제(그물형 부유식 방파제)의 가능성 검증을 목적으로 수행하였다. 본 논문에서는 그물형 부유식 방파제의 방파효율과 관련한 인자들(부유체의 형상, 홀수, 각부유체간의 연결방식)의 특성을 실험을 통하여 비교 분석하였다. 작은 부유체를 연결한 형태인 그물형 부유식 방파제는 부유체 사이를 지나가는 파랑 에너지를 부유체의 운동으로 소멸시키는 형태이다. 실험결과 부유체가 완전히 Heave 운동만 한다면 상당한 파에너지를 흡수할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

In this paper, a primitive study of yacht is carried out and an attempt to design a typical yacht is pursuited. General characteristics and types of a yacht is examined and the 1st step to design process is outlined. A model ship of an environmental adaptive yacht is presented and principal dimensions of the yacht is decided.
