복합보강토의 전단강도 특성 (Shear strength characteristics of composite reinforced soils)

  • Traditional methods of earth reinforcement consist of introducing strips, fabrics, or grids into an earth mass. Recently, discrete fibers are simply added and mixed with the soil, much the same as cement, lime or other additives. The advantages of randomly distributed fibers is the maintenance of strength isotropy, low decrease in post-peak shear strength and high stability at failure. In this study, new composite reinforcement structures which consist of geotextile and randomly distributed discrete fibers were examined their engineering properties, such as shear strength of the composite reinforced soil. The increments of shear strength of composite reinforced soils were the sum of increments by fiber and woven geotextile respectively.

The permeability of short fiber reinforced soil was increased with fiber mixing ratio.

  • In this study, slope stability analysis of LCRS(Leachate Collection Removel System) in waste landfill was peformed by large scale field test. Geocomat is new type of geocomposite product. Gecomat is a sort of Geocomposite product. It is composed of nonwoven geotextiles, woven geotextile, and geonet. Large scale field tests were performed on the slope of different two LCRSsections with static loading condition. One is LCRS section witch consist of GCL, HDPE and Geocomat, another is GCL, HDPE, and woven type geocomposite. The behavior of geosynthetics lined slope was monitored by incorporating instrumentation including vertical soil pressure meter, settlement plate, strain gauges, potential meter, displacement pin.. Based on the field monitoring, the Geocomat LCRS section is less sliding than the conventional geocomposite LCRS section.

  • Geotextiles are usually constructed as a protective layer of geomembranes in liner systems for the solid waste landfill. A protective layer and geomembrane are susceptible to mechanical damage by coarse grains in the overlying drainage layer. In this study, therefore, the strain behavior of geotextile protective layers was investigated using three different types of devices for developing punctiform loads. The results of the study showed that the rates of strain was different depend upon device types for functiform loads. Also, It was found that the increases in strain was approximately linear in range 20 to 6$0^{\circ}C$ , and pp-filament non-woven geotextiles yielded a better efficiency than pp-staple fiber non-woven geotextiles.

토목섬유를 이용한 임도 노면의 안정성 예비 분석 (Preliminary Analysis of Stabilization of Forest Road Surface Using Geosynthetics)

  • This study conducted shear strength test and plate bearing test to look into the characteristics of bearing capacity using geosynthetics case on forest road surface. The shear strength test showed that the internal friction angle at the time when geosynthetics was used was measured larger on average than that in the unreinforced case. Therefore, using geosynthetics case produced more bearing capacity reinforcement effect. The result from the comparison test of internal friction angle by geosynthetics type revealed that the internal friction angle at the time when geotextile case was used was measured larger. That was attributable to the difference between the area of the total cross section of geotextile made in type of non-woven fabric and its material. Plate bearing test showed that the settlement at the time when geosynthetics was used was measured smaller than that in the unreinforced case. Therefore, using geosynthetics produced more bearing power reinforcement effect. The result from the comparison test showed that geogrid case was measured smaller than geotextile case. Henceforth, It is seemed that it will be necessary to keep studying the reinforcement engineering and process of forest road surface which fits the characteristics and conditions of geosynthetics to prevent forest road demage.

보강토옹벽의 장기거동분석에 관한 연구 (Long Term Behaviors of Geosynthetics Reinforced Soil Walls)

  • 연성벽체인 보강토옹벽은 변형을 허용하므로 연약지반 상에 구축될 경우 뒤채움재와 연약지반의 변형이 수렴될 때까지 경과시간에 따라 벽체에 작용하는 토압과 옹벽내에 작용하는 보강재의 인장력은 변하나, 이들을 장기간에 걸쳐 계측 및 분석한 사례는 거의 없다. 본 연구에서는 얕은 층의 연약지반상에 실물보강토옹벽을 구축하여 보강재의 변형, 토압, 간극수압 등을 약 16개월 동안 계측 및 분석하였다. 스트레인 게이지를 사용하여 보강재의 변형을 계측하였으며, 특히 부직포의 변형 계측에 스트레인 게이지를 적용하는 새로운 방법을 제안하였다. 대부분의 보강재 변형은 옹벽구축 후로부터 한 달 이내에 발생하고, 약 16개월 동안 계측된 부직포, 직포, 지오그리드에서의 최대변형률은 6.05, 2.92, 2.33%로 나타났다. 보강토옹벽 내에서 간극수압은 무시할 수 있으나, 벽면에서의 수평토압은 옹벽의 저부와 상부에서 정지토압보다 크게 나타났다.

HDPE 표면처리 지오멤브레인의 경계면 전단강도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Interface Shear Strength of HDPE Textured Geomembrane)

  • 본 논문에서는 HDPE 표면처리(textured) 지오멤브레인의 경계면 전단거동을 파악하고자 하였다. 표면처리 지오멤브레인과 marl, 그리고 직포(woven geotextile)와의 경계면에서 발생하는 경계면 전단강도를 측정하였으며, 표면처리의 영향을 파악하기 위해 매끈한(smooth) 지오멤브레인과 직포와의 경계면 전단강도를 측정하여 비교 분석하였다. 경계면 전단강도는 대형직접전단 시험기를 이용하여 측정하였으며, 다양한 조건에 대해 거동 변화를 알아보기 위해 수침조건과 수직응력을 변화시켰다. 시험에 사용된 수직응력은 총 6단계로 저압(12, 24, 45kPa)과 고압(100, 500, 1,000kPa)으로 구분하여 적용하였다. 시험결과 수침에 의한 경계면 전단강도의 감소는 유의미한 수준으로 나타났으며, 수직응력의 영향은 불확실했다. 표면처리 여부에 따라 경계면 전단강도는 큰 차이를 보여주었는데 매끈한 지오멤브레인의 경계면 전단강도는 표면처리 지오멤브레인에 비해 절반까지 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

마이크로파일의 하중전이특성 및 지지성능 분석 (Load transfer characteristics and bearing capacity of micropiles)

  • This paper presents the analysis result of load-transfer mechanism and pile movements associated with the development of frictional resistance to understand the engineering characteristics of micropile behavior. An field load tests were performed for two different types of micropiles and they are (i) thread bar reinforcement with D=50mm and (ii) hollow steel pipe reinforcement with $D_{out}$=82.5mm and $D_{in}$=60.5mm and wrapped with woven geotextile for post-grouting. The load test results indicated that micropiling with pressured grouting provided better load-transfer characteristics than micropiling with gravity grouting under both compressive and tensile loading conditions in that unit skin frictional resistance is well distributed along installation depth. The unit weight and unconfined compressive strength of cured grout were obtained for each piling method. The strength and unit weight of micropile with pressured grouting was higher than those with gravity grouting. The fact that load bearing quality with pressured grouting is better than that of gravity grouting could be attributed to the dense mutual adhesion between surrounding ground and pile due to pressurized grouting method and better grout quality.

화강토와 보강재 경계면에서의 마찰계수에 관한 연구 (The Friction Coefficients of Interfaces between Weathered Granite Soil and Reinforcements)

  • 다양한 입도 분포의 화강암 풍화토(화강토)에 대하여 각종 보강재와의 경계면 마찰계수를 얻기 위하여 직접전단시험을 수행하였다. 이 직접전단시험에 사용한 보강재는 강재편평대상보강재 (smooth steel strip)와 표면이 거친 합성형 Paraweb(friction tie) 및 폴리에스터 직포(woven geotextile) 등이다. 함수비 변화에 따라 화강토의 전단강도가 변화하는 점을 감안하여 현장조건 중 최악의 상태인 포화도 100%로 하였으며, 직접전단시험의 특성상 배수조건을 전제로 하였다. 또한 현장의 다짐 효과에 대한 영향을 고려하여 수정다짐 95% 조건을 적용하였다. 그 결과 미세립자 함유율이 클 수록 마찰계수비가 증가하며, 표면이 거친 보강재(friction tie and geoteztile)가 표면이 편평한 강재 보강재(smooth steel strip)에 비하여 마찰계수비가 매우 크게 나타남을 발견하였다. 이에 따라 배수상태를 유지하고 표면이 거친 보강재를 사용한다면 미세립자 함유량이 36% 정도인 화강토일지라도 보강토 뒤채움재료로 활용이 가능하다.

  • Geotextiles form one of the two largest groups of geosynthetics and it is consisted two major types of synthetic material (Woven, Non-woven). The functions of geotextiles are separation, reinforcement, filtration, drainage and as a moisture barrier. Within these functions, however, there are a large number of applications or use areas. Although the many research scholar and engineer developed and established the design criteria and construction methodology of geosynthetics filter layer, because the lack of suitable design terminology and uncertainty of long term durability, sustainable research still needed for optimum design methodology to the complicate field conditions. Especially, more intensive research needed about under the cyclic flow condition and fine silty sand base material. In this paper, the filter model test performed under cyclic flow with various boundary conditions (period and frequency of cyclic flow, types of geosynthetic filter material, surcharge etc.).
