Influencing Factors to Preference of Medical Tourism Products of Japanese Tourists (일본인 관광객의 의료관광상품 선호도 영향요인 분석)

  • Objectives : This study was supposed to investigate factors which influence to preference of medical tourism products of Japanese tourists in Seoul, Korea. Methods : Data were collected from 228 Japanese tourists who visited' Seoul Center for Culture & Tourism' in Myeong-dong, Seoul, Korea. We measured factors which influence to preference for medical tourism. The data were analyzed by T-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. Results : The major findings were as follows ; Japanese tourists preferred medical products in the order of skin care, oriental medicine treatment, health screening, and scaling & teeth whitening. They considered technical level of medical staff most importantly, followed by safety of medical products, communication during diagnosis and treatment, follow-up service, modernization of medical facilities and equipment, and the reasonable medical expenses. Japanese tourists' preferred medical institutions in the order of a university hospital, a specialty clinic, a special hospital, They said they intend to pay 50,000 to 150,000 yen for medical tourism. The preference to medical tourism products are that single women group in their twenties and thirties for skin care, married people group aged over thirties preferred oriental medicine treatment, and married men aged over forties and high income earners favored health screening. Conclusions : It should be considered carefully that the preference exists on some factors especially for Japanese tourist. Further research about preference on medical tourism products for tourists from the other countries is required appropriately to fulfill the needs.

The influence of consumers' sports involvement on their attitudes to sports sponsorship of sportswear, brand equity, and purchase intention (소비자의 스포츠 관여도가 스포츠 스폰서십에 대한 태도와 스포츠웨어 브랜드 자산 및 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Sportswear brands in particular have been intensely competing to get an opportunity to prove the value of their new technology and products through sports sponsorship. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among sports involvement, the attitude toward sports sponsorship carried by sportswear brands, brand equity, and purchase intention of the products of the sponsor's brand. The study was implemented though a descriptive survey method using a questionnaire. The sample consisted of 455 men (n=289) and women (n=166) in their twenties, residing in Seoul and Gyeonggi area. Data were analyzed by confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and path analysis of structural equation modeling. The results revealed that sports involvement has an influence on the consumers' attitudes toward sports sponsorship performed by sportswear brands. Also, the sports sponsorship attitude of consumers had an influence on the brand equity and purchase intention toward the sponsor's brand products. It was notable that the attitude toward the manner of sponsoring of the sponsor than the contents itself of the sports event sponsored had an influence more on brand loyalty. Among the component factors of brand equity, brand loyalty showed the biggest impact on purchase intention. Considering the results, in order for sports sponsorship to be more effective, sports involvement of the target market should be considered more carefully.

  • Nowadays idol pop singers are popular with teenagers and adult. Accordingly idol pop singers take a picture of advertisement. because idol pop singers have a lot of fans who are willing to use advertising products. The purpose of the present study examined causes of idol worship and differences of causes of idol worship between in idol fans' 10's and 20's. And this article investigated idol fans' intention to purchase the merchandises advertised by idol. The result showed that idol's features, idol's evaluation, idol's ways of expression, romanticization of the idol had significant effect on idol worship. And there were no significant differences of idol worship between in idol fans' 10's and 20's. Also these causes of idol worship affected on Idol fans' intention to purchase the merchandises advertised by idol. In other words, idol worship was partially mediated the positive relation between by causes of idol worship and intention to purchase the merchandises.

Meaning Transfers Depending on Personality Type -Focusing on TV Beauty Programs- (소비자 성격유형에 따른 의미전이 -TV 뷰티프로그램을 중심으로-)

  • This study explores 1) the cultural meanings that television beauty programs deliver, 2) the ways consumers consume TV beauty programs, and 3) the differences in the meaning of television beauty programs according to personality types. An Enneagram was used to define different personality types. The Enneagram explained personalities according to underlying core energies and was useful to grasp consumer behavior. Exploratory data were collected through in-depth interviews of fifteen women in their twenties who watched television beauty programs regularly. The personality types were classified according to three core energies: head-centered, heart-centered, or body-centered. The results were: First, television beauty programs were celebrity-focused, product-focused, and consumer-focused. They were found to help consumers improve their appearance in an appearance-oriented contemporary society by sharing appearance management information. Second, consumers consumed the products from television beauty programs as well as sought a "beautifully transformed self". Third, cultural meanings moved first from a culturally-constituted world to consumer goods through television beauty programs that then moved these goods to the individual consumer through symbolic consumption behavior along with grooming rituals, evaluation practices, appreciation practices, and accounting practices. Symbolic consumption behavior differed with personality type: heartcentered consumers transferred meaning through grooming rituals and appreciation practices, head-centered consumers through evaluation practices, and body-centered consumers through accounting practices.

Development of Pattern Drafting Method for Hip-hugger Tight Skirt and Round Belt (힙 허거(hip-hugger)형 타이트 스커트 및 라운드 벨트 패턴 제도법 개발)

  • This study was designed to produce rounded belt pattern and tight-skirt pattern drafting method using 3D body scan data. Subjects were thirty women in their early twenties. In order to figure out the optimum cutting points, namely, where darts are made, using CAD program, curve ratio inflection points on the horizontal curve of waist, abdomen, and hip to find 1 point in the front, two points in the back part. The average length from center front point to maximum curve ratio was 7.7 cm(46.3%) on the waist curve; 7.9 cm(39.4%) on the abdomen curve. And the average length from center back point to maximum curve ratio point was 6.9 cm(39.0%) for first dart and 11.2 cm(63.3%) for second dart on the waist curve; 8.9 cm(35.8%) for first dart and 15.7 cm(63.3%) for second dart on the hip curve respectively. The cutting lines from were made up by connecting curve inflection points. After divided using cutting lines, each patch was flattened onto the plane and all the technical design factors related with patternmaking were measured, such as dart amount, lifting amount of side waist point, etc. Based on the results of correlation analysis among these factors, regression analysis was done to produce equations to estimate the variables necessary to draw up pattern draft method; F1=F8+1.1, $F4=2.5{\times}F2+0.9$, $F5=0.9{\times}F4+1.0$, $F6=0.3{\times}F4+0.4$, $B1=0.9{\times}B8+2.3$, $B4=2.1{\times}B2+1.3$, $B5=0.9{\times}B4+3.5$, and $B6=0.3{\times}B4+0.4$.

The Difference of Clothing Shopping Orientation in Internet and Offline Stores (인터넷 매장과 오프라인 매장에서의 소비자 의복 쇼핑 성향 차이에 관한 연구)

  • The study is interested in the consumer's mixed choice of the internet and the offline stores. Therefore the purpose of study is to investigate if the clothing shopping orientation of consumers varies when they shop internet and offline, instead of classifying consumers into internet shoppers and offline shoppers. For the purpose, quantitative survey was carried out using 201 questionnaires from men and women in their twenties. The data were analyzed using factor analysis, Pearson's correlation analysis, Spearman's rank order correlation coefficient, t-test, and frequency analysis. The results are as following. First, the clothing shopping orientation structures of offline and internet stores were different each other. As the result of factor analysis, positive, brand oriented, economic, convenient conformity, convenient impulsive factors were extracted from offline store and rational, enjoying, goal oriented, conformity, brand oriented, convenient impulsive purchase factors were extracted from internet store respectively. Second, as the results of investigating the relationship between the clothing shopping orientation structures of offline and internet stores, positive(off)-enjoying(on), brand oriented(off)-brand oriented(on), convenient conformity(off)-conformity(on) had strong correlation s and the rest were peculiar to the each store type. Specifically, the goal oriented factor peculiar to the internet store was noticeable. Third, as the results of investigating the differences between clothing shopping orientation of offline and internet stores, the ranks of strong orientation dimension were different between two channels. As well, the mean differences were significant in goal oriented, conformity, brand oriented, and convenient impulsive purchase dimensions. This study has the significance that it investigated the variance of clothing shopping orientation according to the mixed selection trend of internet/offline.

Convergence Influence of Clinical Physical Therapist's Attitude toward Work Environment and Professionalization on Job Satisfaction (임상 물리치료사의 업무환경 및 전문성 제도화에 대한 태도가 직업만족도에 미치는 융복합적 영향)

  • This study investigated the influence of clinical physical therapist's perception of their work environment and their attitude toward professionalization on individual job satisfaction. This study is a cross-sectional survey of clinical physical therapists 356 working in hospital, and utilized a structured questionnaire. As a result of this study, in their twenties, women, physical therapist with low clinical experience, and physical therapists working at hospital level showed low job satisfaction. Most of the physical therapists said that they needed a system for professionalism, and the lower the job satisfaction was, the higher the attitude toward the necessity of introducing a professional system. The variables affecting job satisfaction were academic background and annual salary. Therefore, in order to improve the job satisfaction of physical therapists, improvement of salary and learning for professionalism played an important role in improving job satisfaction. Self-development and job specialization through the introduction of a system for equipping expertise appear to be important to improve the job satisfaction.

Research on the Food Habits of Housewives of Korean Students Residing in a Southern Region of Texas, U.S.A. (미국 Texas 일부 지역에 거주하는 한국 유학생 부인들의 식생활습관에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to research on the preparing fermented foods and food habits of Korean women in Texas U. S. A. The preparing method of fermented foods and food habits of Korean housewives whose husbands are studying at the various universities in Houston, Texas are surveyed. The analysed results indicated were as follows ; 1. 64.4% of women were in the thirties at their age, those in twenties 29.7%. 75.2% of subject graduated college. Period of residence in America were 52.5% under 3yr, 25.7% over 5yr. The respondents were aged twenties(29.7%) to thirties(64.4%) who have graduated from college(75.2%) or graduate school(24.8%) and have had the residence period of less than three-(52.5%) to more than five years(25.7%). 2. The kind of cuisine chosen for dinner were Korean style food. The most considerable person when preparing menu were husband. 48.51% of those in age were 3∼39yr(p < 0.1). 60.40% of the response graduated college(p < 0.1). The Korean-style foods overwhelmed over western ones in their frequency for dinner(82.2% vs. 17.8%). The person most considered for choosing menu was their husbands as responded by the majority groups of aged thirties(48.5%), college graduates(60.4%) and residence period of less than three years(42.6%). They satisfied comparatively when they prepared the meal (p < 0.1). 55.4% of the response learned cooking method from neighbor, 39.6% of remainder studied from cuisine book, newspaper, magazine, TV. They satisfied comparatively for the preparation of the meal(56.4%) and have learned the new methods of cooking from neighborhoods(55.4%) or cuisine book, newspaper, magazine and TV(39.6%). 3. The frequency of eating-out mostly had once a month. 30.69% of response were 30∼39yr(p < 0.1). 33.66% of subjects lived under 3yr in America. Eating-out once a month occupied 30.7, 33.7, and 20.7% of the selected group of aged thirties, college graduates, and residence periods of less than three years, each respectively. The type of food selecting eating-out were western style. 38.31% of them were 30∼39yr(p < 0.1). 39.60% of them graduated college(p < 0.1). 29.70% of them lived under 3yr in America. For eating-out menu, the western-style foods were most favored by the groups of aged thirties(38.3%), college graduates(39.6%), and residence periods of less than three years(29.7%). 4. 50.5% of subject had beef once three days, 23.8% of the response had pork once two weeks, 27.7% of subject ate chicken once two weeks, 34.7% of the response enjoyed fish once a week. Eating animal foods once three days for beef(50.5%), once two weeks for pork(23.8%) and chicken(27.7%), and once a week for fish(34.7%) were most frequent. 5. Korean traditional fermented food were mostly enjoyed in order of kanjang(91.1 %), kochujang(87.2%), fermented fish(85.1%), deonjang(81.2%), jang-a-chi(76.2%). 81.2% of subject used prepared-food by themselves. 56.4% of response made kimch at home. Among Korean traditional fermented foods, kimchi(56.4%) and prepared side dishes(81.2%) were provided at home while kanjang(91.1%), kochujang(87.2%), fermented fish(85.1%), deonjang(81.2%), and jang-a-chi(76.2%) were mostly purchased from stores.

The Effect of Halliwick 10 Point Program on the Balance Control (Halliwick 10 Point Program이 균형능력에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of Halliwick 10 point program on the balance control. Fourteen undergraduate students participated in the experiment, and classified 7 experiment and 7 control group, randomly. Halliwick 10 point program was applied in the experiment group for 4 weeks. Balance index was measured using KAT 2000. Balance index were measured before, during(2 weeks), and after(4 weeks) the training for 4 weeks. 2-way repeated measures ANOVA was used to further distinguish between the groups. The following results were obtained; 1. The total balance index scores from a KAT were significantly decreased after 4 weeks compared with before the training passing of time. However there was no significant difference between experiment and control group. 2. The left and anterior shifting balance index scores from a KAT were significantly decreased after 4 weeks compared with before the training passing of time. However there was no significant difference between experiment and control group. These results lead us to the conclusion that the balance ability of women twenties increase as the water is higher than that of the ground applied Halliwick 10 point program of the water specific therapy province. Therefore, A further direction of this study will be to provide more evidence for Halliwick 10 point program in the water specific therapy.

Changes of Facial Temperature and Blood Flow Rates by Treatment of Miso Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture (미소안면침이 안면 피부 온도와 혈류량에 미치는 영향)

  • To investigate the effects of facial temperature and blood flow rates generated by Miso Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture treatment. Ten women in their twenties to fifties with no skin diseases were recruited. Miso Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture(MFRA) was performed on the both sides of their face. We measured their facial temperature using Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging(DITI) and blood flow rates using Laser Doppler Perfusion Imaging(LDPI) at pre-treatment, immediately, twenty and sixty minutes after treatment. We analyzed data using student's t-test(p<0.05). After MFRA treatment, facial temperature on the measurement area increased immediately from $30.5{\pm}1.0^{\circ}C$ to $31.5{\pm}1.0^{\circ}C$, a statistically significant increase. Sixty minutes after treatment, facial temperature on the measurement area decreased a little bit($30.2{\pm}0.6^{\circ}C$), but there was no statistical significance. After MFRA treatment, facial blood flow rates on the measurement area increased immediately from $165.1{\pm}52.3$ PU to $342.7{\pm}51.3$ PU, a statistically significant increase. Sixty minutes after treatment, facial blood flow rates measurement area were recovered almost at the same level as before treatment. MFRA treatment could increase facial temperature and blood flow rates.
