A power amplifier of 2.4 GHz ISM band is designed to implement a transmitter system. High efficiency amplifiers can be implemented as class E or class F amplifiers. This study has designed a 20 W high efficiency class E amplifier that has simple circuit structure in order to utilize for the ISM band application. The impedance matching circuit was designed by class E design theory and circuit simulation. The designed amplifier has the output power of 44.2 dBm and the power added efficiency of 69% at 2.45 GHz. In order to apply 30 dBm input power to the designed power amplifier, voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) and driving amplifier have been fabricated for the input feeding circuit. The measurement of the power amplifier shows 43.2 dBm output and 65% power added efficiency. This study can be applied to the design of power amplifiers for various wireless communication systems such as wireless power transfer, radio jamming device and high power transmitter.

With the rapid increase in the number of mobile terminals, demand for wireless technologies has sharply increased these days. While wireless communication provides advantages such as ease of deployment, mobility of terminals, continuity of session, and almost comparable transmission bandwidth to the wired communication, it has vulnerability to malicious radio attacks such as eavesdropping, denial of service, session hijacking, and jamming. Among a variety of methods of preventing wireless attacks, the MTD(Moving Target Defense) is the technique for improving the security capability of the defense system by constantly changing the ability of the system to be attacked. In this paper, in order to develop a resilient software defined radio communication testbed system, we present a novel MTD approach to change dynamically and randomly the radio parameters such as modulation scheme, operating frequency, packet size. The probability of successful attack on the developed MTD-based SDR communication system has been analysed in a mathematical way and verified through simulation.
In this paper, we propose an outlier detection algorithm called C-SCGP to prevent the degradation of localization performance based on RSS (Received Signal Strength) and AOA (Angle of Arrival) in the presence of outliers in wireless sensor networks. Since the accuracy of target estimation can significantly deteriorate due to various cause of outliers such as malfunction of sensor, jamming, and severe noise, it is important to detect and filter out all outliers. The single cluster graph partitioning (SCGP) algorithm has been widely used to remove such outliers. The proposed continuous-SCGP (C-SCGP) algorithm overcomes the weakness of the SCGP that requires the threshold and computing probability of outliers, which are impratical in many applications. The results of numerical simulations show that the performance of C-SCGP without setting threshold and probability computation is the same performance of SCGP.

As the information age comes out, the aspect of future war brings about the many changes in terms of war-fighting environment. Accordingly, information superiority and intelligence-centric warfare have been important and new war-fighting concept such as NCW(network centric warfare) have been turned up. This paper proposed all-weather core-strategy communications systems guaranteeing not only the real-time transmission of the information collected in a battlefield and expansion, automation, and rapidity of a battlefield but also broadband, mobility, survivability, and flexibility. The proposed military satellite communications system is classified into wideband mass capacity link, survivability, and the system supporting OTM(on the move) communication for the real-time transmission of battlefield information. This paper analyzed the essential operation concepts and core schemes of the U.S. Army's next generation system, TSAT(Transformational Satellite Communication System). Base on the analysis results, this paper proposed that the architecture of next generation military satellite communications systems for NCW have to provide the data rate, anti-jamming capability, network control and management capability which are optimally adaptable for the wireless channel environments such as jamming and interference and to support the variety of platforms like high-speed mobile vehicles, micromini devices, super-high speed unmanned aerial vehicles. Finally, this paper also proposed that next generation military satellite communications systems need the technologies such as the adaptable multi-antenna, laser link, and next-generation anti-jamming waveform.

Since WSNs encounter attacks, such as jamming or eavesdropping without physical access occurs, security is one of the important requirements for WSNs. The key pre-distribution scheme that was recently researched for advance of security in WSNs distributes the keys and probability with the use of q-composite random key pre-distribution method, but there is a high probability that no key shared between sensor nodes, and it takes a lot of time and energy to find out the shared key. Therefore, it is not suitable for WSNs. In order to enhance stability of a node that plays a role of gateway without depending on probabilistic key, this paper proposesa key pre-distribution scheme combined with random key pre-distribution scheme and double hash chain. Since the proposed scheme can maintain a small storage place and strong security strengths, it is more efficient than the existing schemes with the same security strengths. In addition, since it uses a small size of key generation key set, it can reduce a great deal of storage overhead.

A frequency hopping(FH) signal can change its carrier frequency during transmission and has spread-spectrum characteristics in these frequency bands. Therefore, FH signals are widely used in applications that require low-probability-of-intercept(LPI) and anti-jamming (AJ) abilities in wireless communication environments. In this study, the authors propose a method for generating hopping information (HI), which includes start time, dwell time, and hopping frequency for unknown FH signals. The proposed blind HI generation method produces signal detection information based on the spectrum data and then extracts HI using operational procedures for estimating the target FH signal's status, such as appearance, maintenance, and termination. Further, simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method provides accurate HI without detection omissions for various FH signals.

Since 1910s, the drones were mainly used for military purposes for reconnaissance and attack targets, but they are now being used in various fields such as disaster prevention, exploration, broadcasting, and surveillance of risk areas. As drones are widely used from military to civilian field, hacking into the drones such as radio disturbance, GPS spoofing, hijacking, etc. targeting drones has begun to occur. Recently, the use of drones in hacking into wireless network has been reported. If the artificial intelligence technology is applied to the drones in the military, hacking into unmanned combat system using drones will occur. In addition, a drone with a hacking program may be able to relay a hacking program to the hacking drone located far away, just as a drone serves as a wireless communication station. And the drones will be equipped with a portable GPS jamming device, which will enable signal disturbance to unmanned combat systems. In this paper, we propose security threats and the anticipated hacking scenarios using the drones on the battlespace to know the seriousness of the security threats by hacking drones and prepare for future cyberspace.

Drones in the contemporary landscape have transcended their initial public utility, expanding into various industries and making significant inroads into the private sector. The majority of commercially available drones are presently equipped with GPS receivers to relay location signals from artificial satellites, aiming to inform users about the drone's whereabouts. However, a notable drawback arises from the considerable distance over which these location signals travel, resulting in a weakened signal intensity. This limitation introduces vulnerabilities, allowing for the possibility of location manipulation and jamming attacks if the drone receives a stronger signal than the intended location signal from satellites. Thus, this paper focuses on the safety assessment of drones relying on GPS-based location acquisition and addresses potential vulnerabilities in wireless communication scenarios. Targeting commercial drones, the paper analyzes and empirically demonstrates the feasibility of GPS spoofing attacks. The outcomes of this study are anticipated to serve as foundational experiments for conducting more realistic vulnerability analysis and safety evaluations.
The Global Positioning System (GPS) has become popular and widely used in many fields from military to civilian applications. However, GPS signals are suffered from interference due to its weak signal over wireless channel. There are many types of interference, such as jamming, blocking multipath, and spoofing, which can mislead the operation of GPS receiver. In this paper, vector-based tracking loop model with integrity check is proposed to detect and mitigate the harmful effect of interference on GPS receiver operation. The suggested methods are implemented in the tracking loop of GPS receiver. As a first method, integrity check with carrier-to-noise ratio (C/No) monitoring technique is applied to detect the presence of interference and prevent contaminated channels out of tracking channels to calculate position. As a second method, a vector-based tracking loop using Extended Kalman Filter with adaptive noise covariance according to C/No monitoring results. The proposed methods have been implemented on simulated dataset. The results demonstrates that the suggested methods significantly mitigate interference of Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and improve position calculation by 44%.

The main concern in mobile peer-to-peer (P2P) networks is security because jamming or eavesdropping on a wireless link is much easier than on a wired one and such damage can be incurred without physical access or contact. In particular, authentication has increasingly become a requirement in mobile P2P environments. This paper presents a new mutual authentication mechanism which requires less storage space and maintains a high level of security in mobile P2P networks. The proposed mechanism improves efficiency by avoiding the use of centralized entities and is designed to be agile in terms of both reliability and low-cost implementation. The mechanism suggested in the simulation evaluates the function costs occurring in authentication between the devices under mobile P2P network environment comparing to existing method in terms of basic operation costs, traffic costs, communications costs, storage costs and scalability. The simulation results show that the proposed mechanism provides high authentication with low cryptography processing overhead.
