  • The RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology is a non-contact identification system which can wireless reading of information, by attaching tags on objects; various applications of the technology are feasible throughout a dive of industries, and researches are currently under way. Recently, in connection with the wireless communication industry, application service models conveying information to the users through mobile devices with RFID readers were suggested. Such application service based on mobile RFID technology requires schema that models the form of data. Therefore, this study analyzes the mobile RFID application service model that will be serviced in the mobile environment, functions and elements of the protocol, and the interface, designing a language to process the data and express contents in the said service models, and we simulated the service for test it.

QoS-Guaranteed Realtime Multimedia Service Provisioning on Broadband Convergence Network(BcN) with IEEE 802.11e Wireless LAN and Fast/Gigabit Ethernet

  • In broadband convergence network(BcN), heterogeneous broadband wired & wireless subnetworks and various terminal equipments will be interconnected. In order to provide end-to-end realtime multimedia services on such heterogeneous networking environment, as a result, two major problems should be resolved: i) Multimedia session establishment & negotiation that adjusts the differences in the capability of multimedia data processing at the end terminal nodes, ii) quality of service(QoS)-guaranteed connection establishment or resource reservation with connection admission control(CAC) in each heterogeneous subnetworks along the path. The session layer signaling(e.g., SIP/SDP) should be extended for QoS negotiation, and must be tightly cooperating with network layer signaling or resource reservation with CAC function. In this paper we propose a session and connection management architecture for the QoS-guaranteed realtime multimedia service provisioning on BcN, with Q-SIP/SDP, resource reservation protocol with traffic engineering extension, and CAC functions. The detailed interaction scenario and related algorithms for QoS-guaranteed realtime multimedia session, resource reservation and connection establishment are explained and analyzed. From the experimental implementation of the proposed scheme on a small scale BcN testbed, we verified that the proposed architecture is applicable for the realtime multimedia service provisioning. We analyze the network performance and QoS parameters in detail.

  • An important issue of supporting multi-users with diverse quality-of-service (QoS) requirements over wireless networks is how to optimize the systematic scheduling by intelligently utilizing the available network resource while, at the same time, to meet each communication service QoS requirement. In this work, we study the problem of a variety of communication services over multi-media heterogeneous cognitive OFDM system. We first divide the communication services into two parts. Multimedia applications such as broadband voice transmission and real-time video streaming are very delay-sensitive (DS) and need guaranteed throughput. On the other side, services like file transmission and email service are relatively delay tolerant (DT) so varying-rate transmission is acceptable. Then, we formulate the scheduling as a convex optimization problem, and propose low complexity distributed solutions by jointly considering channel assignment, bit allocation, and power allocation. Unlike prior works that do not care computational complexity. Furthermore, we propose the FAASA (Fairness Assured Adaptive Sub-carrier Allocation) algorithm for both DS and DT users, which is a dynamic sub-carrier allocation algorithm in order to maximize throughput while taking into account fairness. We provide extensive simulation results which demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed schemes.

Bandwidth Allocation Under Multi-Level Service Guarantees of Downlink in the VLC-OFDM System

  • In this paper, we explore a low-complex bandwidth allocation (BA) scheme with multi-level service guarantees in VLC-OFDM systems. Effective capacity theory, which evaluates wireless channel capacity from a novel view, is utilized to model the system capacity under delay QoS constraints of the link layer. Since intensity modulation of light is used in the system, problems caused by frequency selectivity can be neglected. Then, the BA problem can be formulated as an integer programming problem and it is further relaxed and transformed into a concave one. Lagrangian formulation is used to reformulate the concave problem. Considering the inefficiency of traditional gradient-based schemes and the demand for distributed implementation in local area networks, we localize the global parameters and propose a quasi-distributed quadratic allocation algorithm to provide two-level service guarantees, the first level is QoS oriented, and the second level is QoE oriented. Simulations have shown the efficient performance of the proposed algorithm. The users with more stringent QoS requirements require more subcarriers to guarantee their statistical delay QoS requirements. We also analyze the effect of subcarrier granularity on the aggregate effective capacity via simulations.

  • XML Web Service is a new distributed computing paradigm for combining all computer systems through the on-line standardized open network, so it is expected that companies can get the results of increasing profits and reducing costs through this. Especially XML Web Service is essential in mobile environment. In this paper, a new XML Web Service is proposed and it is based on WIPI-based XML standard technology and mobile web service standard. The proposed XML Web Service embodied XML Parser which can be used in WIPI environment and made HTTP communication. In addition, as an example of the practical application, it was applied to an inventory Management, Book Store using JAVA language for WIPI.

  • The purpose of this paper is to provider an indoor location measuring method, apparatus and Service available for mobile wireless network. This paper introduces positioning technology such as Basic Technology Element and QoS(Quality of Service) etc. of WPS(WiFi Positioning System) for mobile wireless network. An apparatus for sectionalizing an indoor area for indoor location measurement includes several steps. For example, a sector number input step, a sectionalization calculating step, a storing unit step etc. Also, This paper show advance Indoor positioning result.

  • Many researches have been actively performed to increase energy efficiency in wireless sensor networks. In these researches communication has been the most important target for reducing energy consumption. In fact, in most cases, the frequencies of communication and sensing in a sensor node affect its energy consumption. Therefore, sensing period and transmission period need to be controlled to increase energy efficiency. This paper proposes on energy efficient and restricted query flooding mechanism using service discovery. Further, we implement node management system based on the mechanism and evaluate its performance.

  • Wireless multimedia sensor network senses and transfers mass multimedia data. Also, it is sensitive to latency. This thesis proposes a routing technique based on traffic priority in order to improve the network efficiency by minimizing latency. In addition, it proposes a congestion control mechanism that uses packet service time, packet inter-arrival time, buffer usage, etc. In this thesis, we verified the reduction of packet latency in accordance with the quality level of packet as a result of the performance analysis through the simulation method. Also, we verified that the proposed mechanism maintained a reliable network state by preventing packet loss due to network overload.

  • A mobile device like ceil phone is the necessity of modern people, of ich con be easily connected to a wireless internet through such a mobile device. The demand for a wireless data communication is growing rapidly. However, agencies have not yet completed standardization of a markup language. Due to the development of the Mobile Device, agencies in this field have provided different data formats with each Mobile Device Platform. Traditionally, contents is hand-tailored to suit the target device. A key problem is that the characteristics and capabilities of the mobile device are too diverse to service the most suitable mobile contents. Because of these problems, the need for a re-usable document description language increases. In this paper, we defined Template file that is common data to service mobile devices. We proposed a method that could be an effective wireless web service though design and the implementation of the Call manager & the XSL Generator. In the methodology, when requesting a wireless internet service, a mobile device finds out markup language and a hardware specification of the mobile device through the Call Manager component supports. The XSL Generator component creates the XSL file dynamically that is the most suitable to a device. Finally, contents is serviced to each device by XSLT. It can generate a wireless page more easily by reusing the existing web contents through such course. Therefore, it can save the time and expense for generating a wireless page.

  • Tactical communication environment evolving for the purpose of providing services such as voice, video and text based on ALL-IP. Therefore, To be able to guarantee QoS level which meets the required level of subscriber for these services in the constrained tactical communication infrastructure, it is required to take the characteristics such as wireless transmission link, mobility of troops or personal into service quality scheme. In this paper, to support differentiated QoS for each individual or mission in the tactical communication environment, we presents a technique that can provide same QoS level which was served originally regardless of the situation to user's move through dynamically determining the QoS level to be provided at the time of the service request on VoIP-Switch.
