Vibration Control of Engine Mount Utilizing Smart Materials (지능재료를 이용한 엔진 마운트의 진동제어)

  • This paper presents vibration control of an engine mount for a passenger vehicle utilizing ER fluid and piezoelectric actuator. The proposed engine mount can be isolated the vibration of wide frequency range with many types of amplitude. The main function of ER fluid is to attenuate vibration for low frequency with large amplitude, while the piezoelectric actuator is activated in hish frequency range with small amplitude. A mathematical model of the engine mount is derived using Hydraulic model and mechanical model. After formulating the governing equation of motion, then field-dependent dynamic stiffness of the engine mount is evaluated for various engine speed and excitation amplitude conditions. Then robust controller is designed to attenuate vibration of wide range frequency component. Computer simulation is undertaken in order to evaluate the vibration control performance such as transmissibility magnitude in frequency domains.

  • It is AGC(Automatic Gain Control) amplifier to decide characteristics of IF(Intermediate Frequency) processing IC. When demodulated IF signal by PLL type demodulator, the amplitude of input singla should be maintained at a certain amplitude. The AGC amplifier is an important factor to achieve this condition. The AGC amplifier needs the wide dynamic range, the wide AGC range and better noise characteristics. We designed the AGC amplifier to satisfy these characteristics.

  • A wide band design method of an electromagnetic wave absorber with square ferrite cylinders in the second layer, which has very wide band frequency characteristics, is proposed and discussed. A theoretical model using the equivalent material constants method is also evaluated and proposed for its accuracy by comparison with Hashin-Shtrikman formulas. Based on the developed model, wide band electromagnetic wave absorbers with excellent reflective frequency characteristics in the frequency range of 30MHz to 3, 690MHz were designed.

  • A new analog synchronous mirror delay to be used in the wide-bandwidth clocking circuits is proposed to overcome the frequency dependency of the negative-delay values in the conventional analog synchronous mirror delay. The scheme adopts a new dummy-delay compensation technique by adopting the comparator with inherent systematic offset to achieve the enhanced negative-delay range especially prominent at high frequency applications.

  • A wide-voltage-conversion range bidirectional DC-DC converter is proposed in this paper. The topology is comprised of one typical LC energy storage component and a special common grounded asymmetric H-bridge with four active power switches/anti-parallel diodes. The narrow output PWM voltage is generated from the voltage difference between two normal (wider) output PWM voltages from the asymmetric H-bridge with duty cycles close to 0.5. The equivalent switching frequency of the output PWM voltage is double the actual switching frequency, and a wide step-down/step-up ratio range is achieved. A 300W prototype has been constructed to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed bidirectional converter between the variable low voltage side (24V~48V) and the constant high voltage side (200V). The slave active power switches allow ZVS turn-on and turn-off without requiring any extra hardware. The maximum conversion efficiency is 94.7% in the step-down mode and 93.5% in the step-up mode. Therefore, the proposed bidirectional topology with a common ground is suitable for energy storage systems such as renewable power generation systems and electric vehicles with a hybrid energy source.

  • A general method for both reduced VCO gain ($K_{vco}$) and wide frequency band is to use the switched-capacitor bank LC VCO. However, $K_{vco}$ can fluctuate widely in the wide oscillation frequency range of the VCO. In this paper, a design of wide-band VCO with improved frequency-voltage gain performance is presented. Optimized multiple varacter switching technique is used for reducing its frequency-voltage gain variation.

  • This work suggests a study on 5 kW plasma power supply design and reactor capacitance estimation algorithm for a wide range of linear output control to operate a plasma reactor. The suggested study is designed to use a two-stage circuit and control the full-bridge circuit of the two-stage circuit using the buck converter output voltage of the single-stage circuit. The switching frequency of the full-bridge circuit is designed to operate through high-frequency switching and obtain maximum output using LC parallel resonance. Soft switching technique(ZVS) is used to reduce the loss caused by high-frequency switching, and duty control of the buck converter is applied to control a wide range of linear output. The internal capacitance of the reactor cannot easily be extracted, and thus, the reactor cannot be operated in an optimized resonant state. To address this issue, this work designs the internal capacitance of the reactor such that estimations can be performed with the developed reactor capacitance estimation algorithm applied to the internal capacitance of the reactor. A 5 kW plasma power supply is designed for a wide range of linear output control, and the validity of the study on the reactor capacitance estimation algorithm is verified.

A Study on the Experimental Dynamic Identification of Cylindrical Oil Dampers in the Wide Frequency Range (넓은 주파수 범위에서의 실린더형 유체 댐퍼에 대한 실험적 동특성 규명 연구)

  • System identification for cylindrical oil dampers is carried out based on a series of dynamic experimental tests and theoretical approach for the analysis of the experimental data. Experimental tests are conducted using a specific hydraulic actuator in the wide frequency range from 10 Hz to 90 Hz. From this study, it is confirmed that control force of the damper is composed of inertia, damping and restoring components. In general, both restoring and damping components are significant and comparable. However, the portion of the inertia components becomes more significant than to be negligible in the high frequency range.

  • A Dynamic vibration absorber(DVA) is developed to reduce the excessive vibration of an optical disk drive(ODD) originated from the deriving range of an wobble disk and unbalanced disk. We design the material properties and shapes of the DVA by simulating Frequency response function(FRF) such as target frequency, mass of the DVA, stiffness of damper, damping coefficient, shape and dimension, analyze dynamic characteristics and provide its design guide line for suppressing the vibration of an optical disk derive. To examine the performance of the DVA, the vibration of the feeding system with DVA and without DAA are measured by using a three-axis accelerometer, PCB derive and Pulse analyzer. The result show that the proposed DVA reduces the vibration of wide range in ODD.

  • A capacitor common connected LLC resonant converter with auxiliary switches for a wide output voltage control range is presented in this paper. The proposed converter can be controlled in two ways to achieve a wide output voltage control range of Vo-3Vo. The first control method is performed through pulse width modulation of the auxiliary switches and primary switching devices. The second control method is conducted through frequency modulation of the primary switching devices configured to operate in full-bridge switching modes, when the auxiliary switches are turned off. The feasibility of the proposed converter is verified by the experimental results of a 5 kW prototype.
