This study predicts muscle forces acting on the lower extremity when the knee joint is in deep flexion. The whole bodies were approximated as a link model, and then the moment equilibrium equations at the lower extremity joints were derived for given reaction forces against the ground. Measurement of deep flexion was carried out by placing ten markers on the body. This study calculated the moment acting at each joint from the equations of force and moment, classified the complicated muscles around the knee joint. and then predicted the muscle forces to balance the joint moment. Two models were proposed in this study: the simpler one that consists of three groups of muscle and the more detailed one of nine groups of muscle.
A Study of Clinical Application of the Connective Tissue Massage General massage is termed kneading and rubbing. It will bring the effect of blood volume and cardiovascular reaction. Connective tissue massage is a diagnostic and treatment method. But the general massage has not diagnostic aspect. Connective tissue massage techniques are stimulating and stretching the LCT, mast cell, collagenous fiber, fascia, skin, muscle and nerve tissue. Diagnostic aspects of connective tissue massage are visible investigation, manual investigation, and stroking on the reflex zone. For stability analysis of the lumbar spine, the hypothesis presented is that the disc has stress sensors driving feedback mechanism, which could react to the imposed loads by adjusting the contraction of the muscles. Fusion in the motion segment of the lumbar spinal column is believed to alter the stability of the spinal column. To identify this effect finite element (FE) models combined with optimization technique was applied and quantify the role of each muscle and reaction forces in the spinal column with respect to the fusion level. The musculoskeletal FE model was consisted with detailed whole lumbar spine, pelvis, sacrum, coccyx and simplified trunk model. Vertebral body and pelvis were modeled as a rigid body and the rib cage was constructed with rigid truss element for the computational efficiency. Spinal fusion model was applied to L3-L4, L4-L5, L5-S1 (single level) and L3-L5 (two levels) segments. Muscle architecture with 46 local muscles was used as acting directions. Minimization of the nucleus pressure deviation and annulus fiber average axial stress deviation was selected for cost function. As a result, spinal fusion produced reaction changes at each motion segment as well as contribution of each muscle. Longissimus thoracis and psoas major muscle showed dramatic changes for the cases of L5-S1 and L3-L5 level fusion. Muscle force change at each muscle also generated relatively high nucleus pressure not only at the adjacent level but at another level, which can explain disc degeneration pattern observed in clinical study.
In an attempt to better understand the effect of whole body irradiation on the spontaneous motility and oxygen consumption rate of the isolated mouse duodenum, a whole body X-irradiation of 1,000r. was given to albino mouse, and 1) the total length of contraction of isolated duodenum was recorded on kymograph every five minutes for 60 minutes, 2) glucose and 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT) were added to the reaction medium of Kreb's-Ringer-bicarbonate buffer(KRB) and response of the isolated duodenum to the drugs was observed, and 3) the oxygen consumption rate $(QO_2)$ of the isolated duodenum as well as the effect of glucose and 5-HT on $QO_2$ were measured by Warburg's standard manometric method and the comparison was made with the control(i.e. normal) group. The results thus obtained are summarized as follows. 1. The spontaneous motility of the isolated duodenum in the irradiated groups showed a significantly elevated pattern for the first 15 minutes comparing with the control. The motility, however, decreased after 15 minutes and remained so in the irradiated groups to the level of the nonirradiated control, but 24 hours post-irradiation group showed a tendency of an increased motility while one hour post-irradiation group showed no difference comparing with the control. 2. Addition of glucose produced generally elevated motility of the isolated duodenum in both irradiated and non-irradiated groups comparing with the control throughout the experiment, but no difference was observed in contractile amplitude between the irradiated and non·irradiated groups. 3. When 5-HT was added to the irradiated group, the contractile amplitude of isolated duodenum was similar to that of the control, and 5-HT alone caused a slight increase of the motility comparing with the control. 4. The oxygen consumption rate $(QO_2)$ of the isolated duodenum was found to be ,slightly increased in one hour post·irradiated group, but similar in 24 hour post·irradiated group comparing with the control. Glucose produced a significant increase of $QO_2$ in all the groups, but 5-HT produced a tendency of decrease of $QO_2$ in all the groups.
objectives : This research aimed to study the similar effects between Jwahun and Sojucheon_practice, as both Induces to SooSengg-HwaGang(the coordination of water and fire). methods : 141 recipients of the survey was conducted in the Jwahun room of Korean medicine Hospital, which contained to body reaction between the moment of the Jwahun and after the Jwahun. And the result of them compared with the body's response of Sojucheon_practice results : 1. In a survey, 78% of the patients had responses that were sweating. The area sweating a lot in the survey is the face, abdomen, chest and was, in this order, the ratio was high. About feeling of warmth and coolness, survey of those who felt the warmth ratio was 79%, those who did not feel the coolness ratio was 77%, most of the responses were warm bodies. 46% of patients replied that feels warm in the belly. It said the fact that Jwahun directly to the lower body is to warm. 2. Symptoms of congestion of the head on the survey, 78% of investigators did not appeal. Other investigators were responding they were dizzy. Research on pain and itching, but no response was at 84%. Among the responses to the itchiness, itching perineum was 11% of the respondents. The rest was weak. 3. Associated with defecation in the survey, the investigators found that 33% of respondents said fart. Urine is 22% of respondents said. Abdominal reactions, 33% of respondents answered was taking a tone in the abdomen. In response to the whole body reaction, the most relaxing 39% of the respondents said, 22% of respondents replied that the body feel lighter. 4. After Jwahun, belly is warm and cathartic reactions were the most responsive. This said that Jwahun even after, in the lower abdomen lasting warmth as can be seen. Smooth bowel movements disproves the abdominal organs is a good move. It will also be seen in the same context of bowel movements, abdominal response when just doing Jwahun. conclusions : Jwahun activate the meridians and through the perineum stimulation induced imdokmaek(任督脈) SooSengg-HwaGang(水升火降) to enable the training and some Sojucheon can have similar effects.
This study was performed to understand the behavior of protein mobility and intensity of enzymatic hydrolysis according to crosslinking of sodium caseinate, whey protein isolate, skim milk and whole milk powders with or without transglutaminase (TGase, w/w = 200 : 1) at $38^{\circ}C$. Whey protein was limited to crosslinking and skim milk was relatively more increased in high molecular polymer than whole milk. The degree of crosslinking decreased in the order of sodium caseinate>skim milk>whole milk>whey protein isolate. The SDS-PAGE results indicated that main bands of TGase treated samples had a high mobility and formed bands of molecular weights below 15 kDa by hydrolysis with pepsin after 10 min of reaction time. However, ${\beta}-lactoglobulin$ showed remarkable stability against pepsin hydrolysis treated with and without TGase. The high molecular polymers were easily hydrolyzed with digestive enzymes in vitro experiment. These results suggested that novel dairy products using TGase would have no special digestive problem in human body.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether the ashed tooth powder is utilized as an alternative material of the implant. For this purpose the author performed the experimental study to investigate the tissue response of sintered toothash and its histocompatibility. Bony defects to expose the body of marrow, $1{\times}1cm$ in size, were created in the right and left mandibular body of mature dog, and then the ashed tooth powders were filled in right side and the blood clot was filled in the left side as an control. The dogs were sacrificed at 4th, 7th, and 16th week after implantation and histologic examination was performed. The results of this study were obtained as follows : 1. Any inflammatory response was not noted after implanting of the ashed tooth powder during the whole experimental period. 2. At 4th week, ashed tooth powders were surrounded by mature connective tissue. And we could observe hydroxyapatite crystal structure within the ashed tooth powder. 3. At 7th week, we could observe that macrophage phagocyted the small granules of ashed tooth powders. 4. At 16th week, the union with host bone by growth of new trabeculae was observed. And there were remnants of ashed tooth power within some of new trabeculae.
This study was conducted to examine the effect of sustained release recombinant bovine somatotropin(SR-rBST) with different dosage(0, 0.03mg/kg body weight/14 day, 0.06mg/kg body weight/14 day, 0.09mg/kg body weight/14 day) on the economical traits of the semen characteristics and sexual behaviors and blood chemical values with sixteen Holstein dairy young bulls in Dairy Cattle Improvement Center of National Livestock Co-operatives Federation. Sensual testings of collected semens of Holstein young bulls were not different among treatments (p>0.05). Ejaculated semen volumes of control, SR-rBST 0.03mg, 0.06mg and 0.09mg groups were 5.6ml, 5.6ml, 6.0ml and 6.7m, respectively, but the result of SR-rBST 0.09mg group significantly increased semen volume(P<0.05). In sperm concentration, SR-rBST 0.06mg and 0.09mg groups significantly increased the total number of sperms than the other groups(P<0.05). In otherwise, SR-rBST treatments did not affect on pH, osmotic pressure, anti forzen rate, abnormality and motility of collected semen during whole experimental period. Reaction time(RT), sexual aggressiveness(SA) and tactile stimulation(TS) were not different among treatments. The libido scores(LS) of control, 0.03mg, 0.06mg and 0.09mg groups were 68.0, 80.5, 73.9 and 80.8, respectively, and LS were significantly improved by SR-rBST administration(P<0.05). The effect of SR-rBST on scrotal circumference measurement that is important factor to determine the ability of semen production, was not different among treatments. These studies indicates that SR-rBST treatments favourably affect on semen quality and sexual libido in Holstein young bull.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention program using dietary consult and physical exercise conducted by public health center in Chuncheon city for obese adults. This study used a pretest-posttest design. The subjects were 58 out of 90 obese adults with body mass index (BMI) greater than $25kg/m^2$ who completed all education sessions for 8 weeks. Data on dietary habits, dietary behaviors, nutritional knowledge, anthropometric parameters and biochemical indices and daily nutrient intakes assessed by a 24-hour recall were collected before and after the intervention program., in order to evaluate program effectiveness. After the intervention, there were positive changes in exercise status and dietary habits and nutrition knowledge accuracy. Especially, the answer of 'I drink a cup of milk every day' were significantly improved (p<0.001), and the answer of 'I don't overeat', which is a dietary attitude question was significantly improved (p<0.05). Dietary intakes of most of nutrients were not significantly different between pre-test and post-test. But calcium (p<0.05), potassium (p<0.05), vitamin A (p<0.01), vitamin E (p<0.05), and folic acid (p<0.05) were significantly increased in the female group after the intervention. Weight (p<0.05), BMI (p<0.01), blood pressure (p<0.001), were significantly decreased after program, but changes of skeletal muscle mass, body fat mass were not significant. Resting heart rate (p<0.01), flexibility (p<0.001), whole body reaction (p<0.05), grip strength (p<0.01) and balance (p<0.01) showed positive changes after the intervention. Blood glucose level in serum was significantly decreased (p<0.001). These results indicated that dietary education and exercise program was effective not only for weight reduction but also for the improvement of physical fitness in obese adults.
