Wide-area monitoring of tree-related high impedance fault (THIF) efficiently contributes to increase reliability of large-scaled network, since the failure to early location of them may results in critical lines tripping and consequently large blackouts. In the first place, this wide-area monitoring of THIF requires managing the placement of sensors across large power grid network according to THIF detection objective. For this purpose, current paper presents a framework in which sensors are distributed according to a predetermined risk map. The proposed risk map determines the possibility of THIF occurrence on every branch in a power network, based on electrical conductivity of trees and their positions to power lines which extracted from spectral data. The obtained possibility value can be considered as a weight coefficient assigned to each branch in sensor placement problem. The next step after sensors deployment is to on-line monitor based on moving data window. In this on-line process, the received data window is evaluated for obtaining a correlation between low frequency and high frequency components of signal. If obtained correlation follows a specified pattern, received signal is considered as a THIF. Thereafter, if several faulted section candidates are found by deployed sensors, the most likely location is chosen from the list of candidates based on predetermined THIF risk map.
This paper presents a real time algorithm for monitoring of the arrythmia of ECG signal. A real time monitoring, following by detecting a QRS complex, is the most important. Using 2-dimensional time-delay coordinates which are reconstructed by the phase portrait plotting special trajectory, we detect QRS complexes. In this study, arrythmias are detected by matching the past standard template with tile present pattern when changing abruptly In order to matching with each other, we propose modified chain coding algorithm which applies vetor table consisting of eight orthonormal code(=binary code) to the phase portraits. This algorithm using logical function increases the weight if exceeding to the threshold determinded by correlation value and the distance from a straight line(y=x). Evaluating the performance of the proposed algorithm, we use standard MIT/BIH database. The results are fellowing, 1) Improve the speed of matching template than that of cross-correlation ever has been used. 2) Because the proposed algorithm is robust to varing fiducial point, it is possible to monitor the ECG signal with irregular RR interval. 3) In spite of baseline wandering owing to the low frequency noise, monitoring performance is not reduced.
This paper presents hull stress monitoring system installed in LNGC damaged by a Typhoon Elongation/contraction of removed areas has been assessed in terms of possible residual stress that will take place in replaced blocks when the applied load is removed. The bending moment of a vessel changes actually in terms of loss of longitudinal members and the change of weight distribution in repair procedure. The change of bending moment affects mainly in hull stress of longitudinal members. Hull stress monitoring system was installed on upper deck to prove LNGC stable in the criteria to be less than 40MPa during the period of repair procedure. A temperature measuring system was also installed to exclude the additional stress due to thermal effect from the measured hull stress. As a result, the hull stress was modified with the data measured by the temperature measuring system. This hull stress considering thermal effect was used as a guide stress to check the safety of LNGC during the period of repair procedure.
Objectives: The objective of this study is to evaluate weight change and analyze adverse events in overweight and obese women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) who were prescribed with Gamitaeeumjowee-tang. Methods: A retrospective chart review was conducted for medical records of patients with PCOS, who were administered with Gamitaeeumjowee-tang for a period of 12 weeks between January 2019 and December 2021. Outcomes were total weight loss/weight loss rate, the percentage of patients who lost more than 5% and 10% of their baseline weight. Adverse events (AEs) reported by patients were evaluated by severity, causality and system-organ classes. Results: A total of sixty-seven patients were included (mean±standard deviation, Age 28.78±5.25 years, weight 76.78±12.84 kg, body mass index 29.2±4.26 kg/m2). The average total weight loss in PCOS patients was 6.57±3.07 kg and the average weight loss rate was 8.55±3.65%. The percentage of patients with more than 5% and 10% weight loss compared to their baseline weight was 86.56% and 25.37% respectively. The analysis of adverse events are as follows: Causality assessment with World Health Organization-Uppsala Monitoring Centre of AEs showed 'Unlikely' was the most common (71.7%) and severity evaluations with Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events showed almost all symptoms were mild (98.9%). Conclusions: Gamitaeeumjowee-tang helps to lose weight of PCOS patients, which is overweight or obese, and no serious adverse events have occurred. Additional well-designed clinical studies are recommended.
With the steady growth of mobile technology and applications, demand for more storage in mobile devices has also increased. A lightweight block-level protocol, Internet Advanced Technology Attachment (iATA), has been developed to deliver a cost-effective storage network solution for mobile devices to obtain more storage. This paper seeks to contribute to designing and implementing Load Balancing (LB), Network Monitoring (NM) and Write Replication (WR) modules to improve the protocol's scalability and data availability. LB and NM modules are invoked to collect system resources states and current network status at each associate node (server machine). A dynamic weight factor is calculated based on the collected information and sent to a referral server. The referral server is responsible to analyze and allocate the most ideal node with the least weight to serve the client. With this approach, the client can avoid connecting to a heavily loaded node that may cause delays in subsequent in-band I/O operations. Write replication is applied to the remaining nodes through a WR module by utilizing the Unison file synchronization program. A client initially connected to node IP A for write operations will have no hindrances in executing the relevant read operations at node IP B in new connections. In the worst case scenario of a node crashing, data remain recoverable from other functioning nodes. We have conducted several benchmark tests and our results are evaluated and verified in a later section.
About 40% of reactors in the world are being operated beyond design life or are approaching the end of their life cycle. During long-term operation, various degradation mechanisms occur. Fatigue caused by alternating operational stresses in terms of temperature or pressure change is an important damage mechanism in continued operation of nuclear power plants. To monitor the fatigue damage of components, Fatigue Monitoring System (FMS) has been installed. Most FMSs have used Green's Function Approach (GFA) to calculate the thermal stresses rapidly. However, if temperature-dependent material properties are used in a detailed FEM, there is a maximum peak stress discrepancy between a conventional GFA and a detailed FEM because constant material properties are used in a conventional method. Therefore, if a conventional method is used in the fatigue evaluation, thermal stresses for various operating cycles may be calculated incorrectly and it may lead to an unreliable estimation. So, in this paper, the modified GFA which can consider temperature-dependent material properties is proposed by using an artificial neural network and weight factor. To verify the proposed method, thermal stresses by the new method are compared with those by FEM. Finally, pros and cons of the new method as well as technical findings from the assessment are discussed.
Growth information of crops is essential for efficient control of greenhouse environment. However, a few non-invasive and continuous monitoring methods of crop growth has been developed. A computer vision system with a CCD camera and a frame grabber was developed to conduct non-destructive and intact plant growth analyses. The developed system was evaluated by conducting the growth analysis of lettuce. A linear model that explains the relationship between the relative crop coverage by the crop canopy and dry weight of a lettuce was presented. It was shown that this measurement method could estimate the dry weight from the relative crop coverage by the crop canopy. The result also showed that there was a high correlation between the projected top leaf area and the dry weight of the lettuce.
The multiple correlation coefficient between the values determined by dry weight and those determined by fluorometer was observed with r=0.96 and the standard error of calibration was 0.034. Using the best calibration data, in order to reconfirm the reliability of the fluorometer results in comparison with those obtained by dry weight on the cell concentration, fedbatch cultures were carried out. The results obtained by fluorometer measurements were in good agreement with those obtained by dry weight. The on-line monitoring of cell concentration by the fermentor system linked to a computer equipped with fluorometer was successfully carried out.

In recent years, there has been an increasing demand for healthcare services that can periodically monitor health status and maintain health by increasing the weight training population. However, injuries in the absence of trainer are increasing with the increase in the number of members in the fitness training center. Therefore, there is a need for a system that can periodically monitor the user's exercise state and assist in systematic and safe exercise even when the trainer is absent. In this study, we developed an auto training system that can effectively manage the exerciser while supporting the strength movement. The auto training system consists of a cable mount module, a control module, and a training information monitoring module. In order to evaluate performance of the developed system, the assistant force tests are carried out. Experimental results showed that the assistant force works well when the exerciser is out of power.

Earthworm (Eisenia fetida) acute toxicity test was carried out and ecological risk assessment in soil was performed with national monitoring data. 14 day - $LC_{50}$ of nonylphenol and bisphenol A were 288.1 mg/kg and 90.1 mg/kg, respectively. And NOECs of nonylphenol and bisphenol A were 250 mg/kg and 50 mg/kg, respectively. Significant weight decrement was appeared at 70 mg/kg of bisphenol A, however, nonylphenol at concentrations tested did not severe adverse effect on the weight decrement. The environmental monitoring has been carrying out by NIER since 1999. Exposure levels of nonylphenol in soil were ND$\sim$10.55 $\mu$g/kg and those of bisphenol A were ND$\sim$15.50$\mu$g/kg in National Monitoring data which had been performed from 2000 to 2004. The measured soil exposure level was applied to evaluate the environmental risk assessment. The values of PNEC for bisphenol A and nonylphenol were determined as 0.5 mg/kg and 2.5 mg/kg, respectively using the safety factors which were suggested in EU and OECD. The values of HQ (PEC/PNEC) were determined to be below I for bisphenol A and nonylphenol when the maximum exposure levels for bispheol A (15.50$\mu$g/kg) and nonylphenol (10.55$\mu$g/kg) were applied. Conclusively, the environmental risk assessment of bisphenol A and nonylphenol was not critical in soil.
