  • This paper provides a novel extended Moving Least Squares(MLS) difference method for the potential problem with weak and strong discontinuities. The conventional MLS difference method is enhanced with jump functions such as step function, wedge function and scissors function to model discontinuities in the solution and the derivative fields. When discretizing the governing equations, additional unknowns are not yielded because the jump functions are decided from the known interface condition. The Poisson type PDE's are discretized by the difference equations constructed on nodes. The system of equations built up by assembling the difference equations are directly solved, which is very efficient. Numerical examples show the excellence of the proposed numerical method. The method is expected to be applied to various discontinuity related problems such as crack problem, moving boundary problem and interaction problems.

  • As smart convergence occurs, solving the digital divide issue for weak layers such as the elderly, handicapped and poor groups is becoming an emerging issue. This study aims to promote information service to encourage active participation of the weak layers and to bridge the digital divide among those under the digital switchover and the smart phone convergence environments. This study, comparing the environments of Korea and other major countries with respect to digital divide, found some differences and tried to suggest proper policies for Korea to remain as a leading IT country. We expect this study to help the government, industries, schools cope with the divide issues and establish proper policies to provide weak layers with equal opportunities to IT in the coming smart convergence era.

However solution for security, efnciency and scaleability of a multicast communications are not enough to be satisfactory. Tn this paper, we Propose a new secure, efficient and scalable multicasting protocols to provide a integrated multicast service. Our protocol is an authenticated key establishment protocol which has been designed specifically for use with low powered computationally weak equipment such as Cellular phone and PDA(Personal Digital Assistant).

  • Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method has a good adaptability for the simulation of free surface flow problems. There are two forms of SPH. One is weak compressible SPH and the other one is incompressible SPH (ISPH). Compared with the former one, ISPH method performs better in many cases. ISPH based on Rankine source solution can perform better than traditional ISPH, as it can use larger stepping length by avoiding the second order derivative in pressure Poisson equation. However, ISPH_R method needs to solve the sparse linear matrix for pressure Poisson equation, which is one of the most expensive parts during one time stepping calculation. Iterative methods are normally used for solving Poisson equation with large particle numbers. However, there are many iterative methods available and the question for using which one is still open. In this paper, three iterative methods, CGS, Bi-CGstab and GMRES are compared, which are suitable and typical for large unsymmetrical sparse matrix solutions. According to the numerical tests on different cases, still water test, dam breaking, violent tank sloshing, solitary wave slamming, the GMRES method is more efficient than CGS and Bi-CGstab for ISPH method.

  • In this paper, we have considered a class of constrained non-smooth multiobjective fractional programming problem involving support functions under generalized convexity. Also, second order Mond Weir type dual and Schaible type dual are discussed and various weak, strong and strict converse duality results are derived under generalized class of second order (F, ${\alpha}$, ${\rho}$, $d$)-V-type I functions. Also, we have illustrated through non-trivial examples that class of second order (F, ${\alpha}$, ${\rho}$, $d$)-V-type I functions extends the definitions of generalized convexity appeared in the literature.

  • Owing to the nature of locality in mask layouts, it appears that most mask layout problems can be solved by transforming a part of the given mask layout into a better layout segment continuously toward a global suboptimal solution. This notion of local transformation addresses major weak points of existing mask layout processing systems, which lack both extensibility and unifiability. This paper attempts to elaborate upon developing a new rule-based mask layout transformation system wherein most of the mask layout problems can be solved under the unified framework of local mask layout transformation. The rule-based mask layout transformation system is applicable to various mask layout problems such as net extraction, mask layout compaction, mask layout editing, and design rule checking. The experimental results show that the rule-based expert system approach is an efficient means of solving those mask layout problems, and thus confronting major drawbacks of existing layout processing systems.

  • The maximum Origin-Destination Flow Path Problem (MODFP) in an Acyclic Network has known as NP-hard. K. S. Sung has suggested on Optimal Algorithm for MODFP based on the Pseudo flo or arc and the K-th shortest path algorithm. When we try to solve MODFP problem by general Branch and Bound Method (BBM), the upper and lower bounds of subproblems are so weak that the BBM become very inefficient. Here we utilized the Pseudo flow of arc' for the tight bounds of subproblems so that it can produce an efficient BBM for MODFP problem.

  • In this research, we propose a new efficient iterative method for fixed point problems of generalized α-nonexpansive mappings. We show the weak and strong convergence analysis of the proposed method under some mild assumptions on the control parameters. We consider the application of the new method to some real world problems such as convex minimization problems, image restoration problems and impulsive fractional differential equations. We carryout a numerical experiment to show the computational advantage of our method over some well known existing methods.

  • For the efficient operation and management of the water resources system, coordinated operation of weirs and reservoirs is required. A simulation based, and an optimization based approaches are available to deal with the operation and management problems. The simulation based approach does not guarantee an optimal solution, and the optimization based approach is not so flexible to consider, complex, nonlinear problems we will face when trying to allocate water to different uses, various demand sectors in a basin. Hence, it is important to develop a model that would compensate for the weak points in both models. We will compare and contrast intrinsic and extrinsic properties of two modeling approaches, addressing issues related to setting system operation and control rules that would lead us to more efficient use of water in the basin. As a result, we propose to use CoWMOM(Coordinated weirs and multi-reservoir operating model), a "simulation based" optimization model for a simple simulation of the past periods, and for the real-time simulation process considering uncertain inflow.

  • Due to the luminescence by$ Er ^{ 3+}$ activator, Er-doped $LaPO_4$ powders can be applied for optical amplification materials. In this study, $LaPO_4$:Er nanoparticles were synthesized in solution system using a high-boiling coordinating solvent and their properties were investigated through various spectroscopic techniques. The nanoparticles were to take a single phase of monazite structure by a X-ray diffraction analysis and to have the 5-6 nm of particles size with narrow size distribution by a TEM. And it was confirmed by the EA and FT-IR analyses that the surfaces of nanoparticles are coordinated with the solvent molecules, which will possibly keep from agglomerating between LaPO$_4$:Er nanoparticles. In the emission spectrum of $LaPO_4$:Er nanoparticle at NIR region, on the other hand, it was measured that the emission intensity is very weak, which is due to the transition from $^4$$I_{(13/2)}$ to $^4$$I_{(15/2)}$ of $Er^{3+ }$ion. It was interpreted that the weak luminescence of $LaPO_4$:Er is originated from the hydroxyl groups adsorbed on the surfaces of the nanoparticles, because OH group acts as an efficient quencher for the $^4$$I_{(13/2)}$ \longrightarrow $^4$$I_{(15/2)}$ emission of $Er^{3+}$ activator. But the co-doping of Yb$^{3+}$ as a sensitizer in this nanoparticle results in the increase of the emission intensity at 1539 nm due to the effective energy transfer from $Yb^{3+}$ to $Er^{3+}$ . In addition, the synthesized nanoparticles exhibited good dispersibility with some polymers and effective luminescence at NIR region.n.
