플레어 스커트의 실제착의와 가상착의 이미지 비교 (A study on the comparing visual images between the Real garment and the 3D garment simulation of flare skirts)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 20대 표준체형 여성을 대상으로 하여, 소재에 따른 플레어 스커트의 실제착의와 가상착의에 따른 시각적 이미지를 비교 분석하고, 시각적 이미지와 역학적 특성간의 상관관계를 분석하는 데에 있다. 본 연구는 드레이프 특성이 확연히 다른 5종류의 소재를 사용하였다. 실험에 사용되어진 플레어 스커트의 실제착의와 가상착의의 이미지는 사진으로 제공되었으며, 피설문자는 20대의 의류학 전공의 여성이었다. 자료의 분석은 SPSS Ver.12.0 프로그램을 사용하여 통계 처리하였으며, 연구 문제별로 요인분석, 일원변량분석(One way ANOVA), T 검정(t-test), 던컨테스트(Duncan test)를 실시하였다. 시각적 이미지에 대한 요인분석 결과 '드레이프성', '매력성', '신체 보정성', '부피감', '활동성' 의 총 5 가지 요인이 분석되었다. 시각적 이미지중 '부피감'의 경우 G, 무게, 두께와 같은 역학적 특성들과 밀접한 상관관계를 나타냈으며, 3차원 의복 시뮬레이션과 실제착의간의 시각적 이미지는 소재에 따라 유의한 차이점을 나타냈는데, 실크나 폴리에스터 소재와 면, 린넨, 양모소재간 이미지 차이는 소재의 무게와 두께에 따라 영향을 많이 받는 것으로 나타났다.

Fast and Accurate Visual Place Recognition Using Street-View Images

  • A fast and accurate building-level visual place recognition method built on an image-retrieval scheme using street-view images is proposed. Reference images generated from street-view images usually depict multiple buildings and confusing regions, such as roads, sky, and vehicles, which degrades retrieval accuracy and causes matching ambiguity. The proposed practical database refinement method uses informative reference image and keypoint selection. For database refinement, the method uses a spatial layout of the buildings in the reference image, specifically a building-identification mask image, which is obtained from a prebuilt three-dimensional model of the site. A global-positioning-system-aware retrieval structure is incorporated in it. To evaluate the method, we constructed a dataset over an area of $0.26km^2$. It was comprised of 38,700 reference images and corresponding building-identification mask images. The proposed method removed 25% of the database images using informative reference image selection. It achieved 85.6% recall of the top five candidates in 1.25 s of full processing. The method thus achieved high accuracy at a low computational complexity.

Free-view Pixels of Elemental Image Rearrangement Technique (FPERT)

  • In this paper, we propose a new free-view three-dimensional (3D) computational reconstruction of integral imaging to improve the visual quality of reconstructed 3D images when low-resolution elemental images are used. In a conventional free-view reconstruction, the visual quality of the reconstructed 3D images is insufficient to provide 3D information to applications because of the shift and sum process. In addition, its processing speed is slow. To solve these problems, our proposed method uses a pixel rearrangement technique (PERT) with locally selective elemental images. In general, PERT can reconstruct 3D images with a high visual quality at a fast processing speed. However, PERT cannot provide a free-view reconstruction. Therefore, using our proposed method, free-view reconstructed 3D images with high visual qualities can be generated when low-resolution elemental images are used. To show the feasibility of our proposed method, we applied it to optical experiments.

경부 종물에서 3차원 재건 영상과 적출 조직 사진의 비교 (Comparison of 3D Reconstruction Image and Medical Photograph of Neck Tumors)

  • Objectives : Getting full information from axial CT images needs experiences and knowledge. Sagittal and coronal images could give more information but we have to draw 3-dimensional images in mind with above informations. With aid of 3D reconstruction softwares, CT data are converted to visible 3D images. We tried to compare medical photographs of 15 surgical specimens from neck tumors with 3D reconstructed images of same patients. Material and Methods : Fifteen patients with neck tumors treated surgically were recruited. Medical photograph of the surgical specimens were collected for comparison. 3D reconstruction of neck CT from same patients with aid of 3D-doctor software gave 3D images of neck masses. Width and height of tumors of each photos and images from the same cases were calculated and compared statistically. Visual similarities were rated between photos and 3D images. Results : No statatistical difference were found in size between medical photos and 3D images. Visual similarity score were higher between 2 groups of images. Conclusion : 3D reconstructed images of neck mass looked alike the real photographs of excised neck mass with similar calculated sizes. It could give us reliable visual information about the mass.

Is the Peak-Affect Important in Fast Processing of Visual Images in Printed Ads?: A Comparative Study on the Affect Integration Theories

  • This study investigates how affects elicited by visual images in print ads are integrated to form a liking for the ads. Assuming a sequential rather than simultaneous processing of still-cut images, we adopt the 'think-aloud' method to capture consumers' spontaneous responses to visual images. We hypothesize that not only would consumers show mixed affects toward a still-cut visual image but that they would also integrate their serial affects heuristically rather than simply averaging the affects as suggested by the compensatory hypothesis. By comparing the effects of two contradictory affect integration hypotheses (i.e., peak-affect and mood-maintenance) with compensatory integration, using a single regression model, we found that peak-negative along with mood maintenance integration of serial affects for a print ad works best in the formation of ad liking. The results also support our initial premise that people can have mixed valence even toward a still-cut ad.

  • 인간의 시각 주의 시스템은 주어진 시각장면을 모두 다 처리하기보다는 주의가 집중되는 일정한 작은 영역들을 순간적으로 선택하여 그 부분만을 순차적으로 처리함으로써 복잡한 시각장면을 단순화시켜 쉽게 분석할 수 있는 능력을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 주의 기반 시각정보 처리체계 시스템 구현을 위한 새로운 특징맵 구성 및 통합 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템에서는 시각특징으로서 색상, 명도, 방위, 형태 외에 2개의 스테레오 영상 쌍으로부터 얻을 수 있는 깊이 정보를 추가하여 사용하였다. 실험결과를 통해 깊이 정보를 사용함으로써 주의 영역의 정탐지율이 개선됨을 확인하였다.

2009 개정 과학교육과정에 따른 초등학교 과학 교과서의 읽기자료 분석 (Analysis of the Reading Materials in Elementary School Science Textbooks developed under the 2009 Revised National Science Curriculum)

  • In this study, the characteristics of the reading materials in elementary school science textbooks developed under the 2009 revised National Science Curriculum were investigated. The criteria for classifying the reading materials were the types of topic, purpose, students' activity, and presentation. The visual images in the reading materials were also analyzed from the viewpoint of type, role, caption type, and proximity type. The results indicated that the number of the reading materials in the 2009 revised science textbooks decreased compared to that of the 2007 revised science textbooks. It was also found that the frequencies of the reading materials expanding concepts of the text and/or requiring corresponding students' inquiry increased. More visual images were used in the reading materials of the 2009 revised science textbooks. However, several limitations were still found to exist; most visual images were illustration and/or picture; many visual images were presented without a caption; there was a problem in the proximity of visual image to text.

시각 암호화와 가상 위상영상을 이용한 광 암호화 시스템 (Optical encryption system using visual cryptography and virtual phase images)

  • 광을 이용하여 암호화를 하는 경우는 위조 및 복제의 방지를 위하여 세기성분보다는 위상성분을 이용하여 주로 암호화를 하고 있다. 그러나 위상정보를 검출할 수 있는 장비가 개발된다면 정보를 유출 당할 수 있는 위험이 있다. 이러한 위험을 줄이기 위해 본 논문에서는 가상 위상영상을 이용하고 또한 정보를 다수가 공유할 수 있도록 시각 암호화(visual cryptography) 방법을 이용하여 정보를 보다 안전하게 보관하고 공유하는 시스템을 제안하였다.

  • The equipment of industrial robot in manufacturing and assembly lines has rapidly increased. In order to achieve high productivity and flexibility, it becomes very important to develop the visual feedback control system with Off-Line Programming System(OLPS). We can save much efforts and time in adjusting robots to newly defined workcells by using OLPS. A proposed visual calibration scheme is based on position-based visual feedback. The calibration program firstly generates predicted images of objects in an assumed end-effector position. The process to generate predicted images consists of projection to screen-coordinates, visible range test and construction of simple silhouette figures. Then camera images acquired are compared with predicted ones for updating position and orientation data. Computation of error is very simple because the scheme is based on perspective projection which can be also expanded to experimental results. Computation time can be extremely reduced because the proposed method does not require the precise calculation of tree-dimensional object data and image Jacobian.
