  • Audience reactions in response to remote virtual performances must be compressed before being transmitted to the server. The server, which aggregates these data for group insights, requires a distribution code for the transfer. Recently, distributed learning algorithms such as federated learning have gained attention as alternatives that satisfy both the information security and efficiency requirements. In distributed learning, no individual user has access to complete information, and the objective is to achieve a learning effect similar to that achieved with the entire information. It is therefore important to distribute interdependent information among users and subsequently aggregate this information following training. In this paper, we present a new extension technique for minimal code that allows a new minimal code with a different length and Hamming weight to be generated through the product of any vector and a given minimal code. Thus, the proposed technique can generate minimal codes with previously unknown parameters. We also present a scenario wherein these combined methods can be applied.

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of occupational therapy intervention using a fully immersive virtual reality device on the upper extremity function of patients with chronic stroke. Methods : This study used a single subject (ABA) design. The study subjects was a chronic stroke patient with left lateral deviation. Four baseline periods, 12 intervention periods, and 4 baseline regression periods were performed for a total of 20 sessions for 10 weeks. OT intervention with a fully immersive virtual reality device was used every 30 minutes. BBT and WMFT evaluations were performed at each session and the results were displayed in a line graph. Results : The patient's upper limb function has improved. During baseline recurrence, efficacy of treatment was confirmed after removal of intervention, but no significant changes were observed. Conclusion : It has been found that OT intervention with a fully immersive virtual reality device for upper limb function in chronic stroke patients is an effective intervention. However, the effectiveness of maintaining treatment is not important, so we need to develop an easy-to-use home intervention program.

  • In this paper, we propose an ATM processor suitable for VoDSL subscriber's equipments. The processor is composed of ATM block, AAL protocol block and ATS scheduler, and provides up to 4 VCC which service data and voice traffics on the ATM network. The proposed ATS scheduler can guarantee QoS of the voice traffic and supports multiple AAL2 packet. The ATM processor is manufactured on the 0.35 micron fabrication line of HYNIX semiconductor and provides the maximum data transfer rate of up to 52 Mbps. We implement the LAD, which is the VoDSL subscriber's equipment. The experimental results on the test bed network shows that the proposed hardware scheme successfully services most of the applications of the VoDSL services.

  • The European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI) Technical Committee (TC) Reconfigurable Radio Systems (RRS) is standardizing the multi-mode Mobile Device (MD). The configuration of multi-mode MD is determined by the downloaded mobile communication standard software. In this paper, we introduce the Radio Library concept for multi-mode MD which is one of the key components of RRS standard. This paper also introduces the Standard Functional Block which is a part of Radio Library. A method for selecting efficiency SFBs for multi-mode MD is presented and a Radio Library is generated based on the selected SFBs. This paper also shows sample Standard Functional Block Set which included in Radio Library. In order to verify the compatibility of the generated Radio Library which was made by C language, we implement the LTE Rel-10 and Wi-Fi(802.11b) to show the efficiency of generating a mobile communication standard software based on the Radio Library. Then using the Prograph Visual Programming MartenTM 1.6.4, we compiled our LTE Rel-10 and Wi-Fi(802.11b) source code.

  • In this paper we present a technique for detecting cross-reference points that allows improving watermark detect-ability. In general, Harris detector is commonly used for finding salient points. Harris detector is a kind of combined corner and edge detector which is based on neighboring image data distribution, therefore it has some limitation to find accurate salient points after watermark embedding or any kinds of digital attacks. The new method proposed in this paper used not data distribution but geometrical structure of a normalized image in order to avoid pointing error caused by the distortion of image data. After normalization, we constructed pre-specified number of virtual lines from top to bottom and left to right, and several of cross points were selected by a random key. These selected points specify almost same positions with the accuracy more than that of Harris detector after digital attacks. These points were arranged by a random key, and blocks centered in these points were formed. A reference watermark is formed by a block and embedded in the next block. Because same alteration is applied to the watermark generated and embedded blocks. the detect-ability of watermark is improved even after digital attacks.

  • Determining the position and velocity of mobiles is an important issue for efficient handoff and channel allocation in microcell structure. Our early work proposes a technique for estimating the mobile location in the microcellular architecture. This process is based on the three step position estimation which determines the mobile position by gradually reducing the area of the mobile position. Using three step method, the estimator first estimates the locating sector in the sector estimation step, then estimates the locating zone in the zone estimation step, and then finally estimates the locating block in the block estimate step. But this scheme is prone to errors when the mobile is located in the boundary of sectors or tracks. In this paper we propose the enhanced scheme to reduce the estimation error.

  • Maximum dip vector of individual joint plane, which can be uniquely defined on the hemispherical projection plane, has been established by considering its dip and dip direction. A new stereographic projection method for the rock slope analysis which employs the maximum dip vector can intuitively predict the failure modes of rock slope. Since the maximum dip vector is uniquely projected on the maximum dip point of the great circle, the sliding direction of discontinuity plane can be recognized directly. By utilizing the maximum dip vector of discontinuity both the plane sliding and toppling directions of corresponding blocks can be discerned intuitively. Especially, by allocating the area of high dip maximum dip vector which can form the flanks of sliding block the potentiality for the formation of virtual sliding block has been estimated. Also, the potentiality of forming the triangular-sectioned sliding block has been determined by considering the dip angle of joint plane the dip direction of which is nearly opposite to that of the slope face. Safety factors of the different-shaped blocks of triangular section has been estimated and compared to the safety factor of the most hazardous block of rectangular section. For the wedge analysis the direction of crossline of two intersecting joint planes, which has same attribute of the maximum dip vector, is used so that wedge failures zone can be superimposed on the stereographic projection surface in which plane and toppling failure areas are already lineated. In addition the maximum dip vector zone of wedge top face has been delineated to extract the wedge top face-forming joint planes the orientation of which provides the vital information for the analysis of mechanical behavior of wedge block.

  • Blockchain technology removes the central system and connects each block throughout every person. This paper proposes new method to exploit the blockchain feature to apply existing donation system. In the current system, the donator does not donate to poor neighbor which means donator must have to donate some donate organization. The donator does not recognize how the donation has been spent after donation. In this case, we can solve that problem by using the blockchain where the donator can watch how the money works and everyone can browse the account history. To make a virtual fundraising box based on blockchain technology, donator sends some money at virtual account and exchanges the money to crypto-currency. Donator can use crypto-currency which is donate to poor neighbor that poor neighbor can exchanges crypto-currency to the money. Through this proposed system, the donation is managed by secure and transparent blockchain system.

  • On modern operating systems such as Linux, virtual memory is a general way to provide a large address space to applications by using main memory and storage devices. Recently, storage devices have been improved in terms of latency and bandwidth, and it is expected that applications with large memory show high-performance if next-generation storage devices are considered. However, due to the overhead of virtual memory subsystem, the paging system can not exploit the performance of next-generation storage devices. In this study, we propose several optimization techniques to extend memory with next-generation storage devices. The techniques are to allocate block addresses of storage devices for write-back operations as well as to configure the system parameters, and we implement the techniques on Linux 3.14.3. Our evaluation through using multiple benchmarks shows that our system has 3 times (/24%) better performance on average than the baseline system in the micro(/macro)-benchmark.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of virtual reality (VR)-based core stabilization exercise on upper extremity function, postural control, and depression among persons with stroke with hemiplegia. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: This study was conducted with the inclusion of 24 participants and were randomly assigned to either the VR-based trunk stability exercise group (n=12) or control group (n=12). The VR-based trunk stability exercise group performed core stabilization exercises in a VR environment for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, the control group conducted general core stabilization exercises for 30 minutes. The participants trained 3 times a week for 4 weeks. The manual functional test (MFT), Box and Block Test (BBT), Berg Balance Scale (BBS), Trunk Impairment Scale (TIS), the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) were used to assess all participants before and after the intervention. Results: The VR-based core stabilization exercise group had a significant improvement in upper extremity function (MFT, BBT) and postural control (BBS) compared with the control group (p<0.05). The VR-based core stabilization exercise showed a significant difference after intervention in the TIS and GDS scores (p<0.05), but they did not significantly differ between the two groups. Conclusions: The result showed that VR-based core stabilization exercise can be effective in improving upper extremity function and postural control among patients with stroke more than the sole application of general physical therapy.
