  • With the development of 3D graphics software and the speed of computer hardware, it is an era that can be realistically expressed not only in movie visual effects but also in console games. In the production of such realistic 3D models, 3D scans are increasingly used because they can obtain hyper-realistic results with relatively little effort. Among the various 3D scanning methods, photogrammetry can be used only with a camera. Therefore, no additional hardware is required, so its demand is rapidly increasing. Most 3D artists shoot as many images as possible with a video camera, etc., and then calculate using all of those images. Therefore, the photogrammetry method is recognized as a task that requires a lot of memory and long hardware operation. However, research on how to obtain precise results with 3D photogrammetry scans is insufficient, and a large number of photos is being utilized, which leads to increased production time and data capacity and decreased productivity. In this study, point cloud data generated according to changes in the number and resolution of photographic images were produced, and an experiment was conducted to compare them with original data. Then, the precision was measured using the average distance value and standard deviation of each vertex of the point cloud. By comparing and analyzing the difference in the precision of the 3D photogrammetry scans according to the number and resolution of images, this paper presents a direction for obtaining the most precise and effective results to 3D artists.

  • In the database design course, the team project is a very important process to develop students' database design competencies. In order to carry out team projects smoothly, active interaction between students and the professor as well as collaboration among team members are very important. However, a full uncontacted class was suddenly decides in the first semester of 2020, it was questionable whether it would be possible to effectively manage this course, where team projects to construct database take up a big portion. However team projects were able to proceed without major problems through interaction using real-time video media such as zoom, and discussions, quizzes, and Q&A supported by the online education support system (LMS), and online presentations, mutual evaluations, and so on. This paper shares the experience of managing engineering team projects in uncontacted classes and based on three surveys introduces desirable improving directions of this instruction and some suggestions to improve uncontacted classes overall.

  • In this study, the artistic background and formative nature of representative 19th century realist artists Gustave Courbet and Honoré Daumier were analyzed and applied in a fashion context. By displaying representational desires (necessary adhesions of man and society) in their work, they became characteristic matrixes of critical realism and to perceive critical realism. The purpose of the study was to apply the characteristics of critical realism to the contemporary fashion collections of Alexander McQueen. Research was conducted to analyze the characteristics that appear in the field of fashion and to review methods of expression and internal aesthetics displayed through various aspects of fashion design. Characteristics of critical realism were analyzed by researching the formativeness and periodical background of the paintings of Courbet and Daumier. Based on these characteristics, analysis was conducted to identify critical realism in the fashion collections of Alexander McQueen. Data and scope included fashion information sites, internet photo data, and video material. Critical realist characteristics were categorized into five types as follows: 'The proper borrowing of extremely realistic subjects signifies', 'satirical reconstruction and narrative composition', 'antipathetic distortions and abject representations', 'critical reproductions based on technology', and 'the maximization of ambivalent sexuality'. It was concluded that the characteristics of critical realism (recognized by the common formation of Courbet and Daumier) also appeared in Alexander McQueen's fashion collection but were inherited in a form that transcended pictorial expression due to the overall difference in use of visual arts.

  • In this paper, we propose a fire detection system based on CCTV images using an object tracking technology with YOLOv4 model capable of real-time object detection and a DeepSORT algorithm. The fire detection model was learned from 10800 pieces of learning data and verified through 1,000 separate test sets. Subsequently, the fire detection rate in a single image and fire detection maintenance performance in the image were increased by tracking the detected fire area through the DeepSORT algorithm. It is verified that a fire detection rate for one frame in video data or single image could be detected in real time within 0.1 second. In this paper, our AI fire detection system is more stable and faster than the existing fire accident detection system.

  • In the content-based video retrieval applications, the information on the movement of an object can be used as important in classifying the content. In particular, analyzing and classifying human movement can be used for various purposes as well as retrieval. In this paper, a method to improve the performance of the shape variation descriptor and shape sequence to describe and classify movement using shape information that changes according to the movement of an object is proposed. By selecting a shape descriptor to more efficiently describe the shape information of an object and comparing the distance function used to measure the similarity, the description and retrieval efficiency of movement information can be increased. Through experiments, it was shown that the proposed method can describe movement information more efficiently and increase the retrieval efficiency compared to the previous method.

  • In the context of the pandemic, educational institutions had to ensure an instant transition to remote technological models of communication within the new conditions of the educational environment. The purpose of the academic paper lies in determining the role of the communicative model of educational transformations in the realities of (post) modernity. The research methodology is based on a survey of 120 students from 10 higher educational institutions (HEIs) of Ukraine through an online form regarding the importance of live communication during a pandemic. Results. The communicative model changed significantly during the pandemic - the interaction was mainly due to technologies. The research has identified four communication models of educational transformations under the conditions of the pandemic, depending on learning models. The first traditional model of distance learning involves distance learning; the second model involves contact remote training using remote educational technologies; the third model is blended learning, which combines remote and traditional learning formats, synchronous and asynchronous modes of interaction; the fourth model is traditional contact training. The empirical study of the effectiveness of communication models proves that live communication remains extremely important for learning and understanding of educational materials by students, and technology has provided support for such communication. Along with this, seminars and video lectures with presentations combining live communication and communication technologies are as important as digital learning tools. The most effective teaching method for mastering and memorizing educational material was a live dialogue with a teacher at seminars in ZOOM, followed by individual written assignments on the studied topic.

  • Abstract Recently, with the development of IoT technology and communication media, various video equipment is being used in industrial fields. Image data acquired from cameras and sensors are easily affected by noise during transmission and reception, and noise removal is essential as it greatly affects system reliability. In this paper, we propose a weight filter algorithm based on the pixel value distribution pattern to preserve details in the process of restoring images damaged in AWGN. The proposed algorithm calculates weights according to the pixel value distribution pattern of the image and restores the image by applying a filtering mask. In order to analyze the noise removal performance of the proposed algorithm, it was simulated using enlarged image and PSNR compared to the existing method. The proposed algorithm preserves important characteristics of the image and shows the performance of efficiently removing noise compared to the existing method.
