Positive Random Forest based Robust Object Tracking (Positive Random Forest 기반의 강건한 객체 추적)

  • In compliance with digital device growth, the proliferation of high-tech computers, the availability of high quality and inexpensive video cameras, the demands for automated video analysis is increasing, especially in field of intelligent monitor system, video compression and robot vision. That is why object tracking of computer vision comes into the spotlight. Tracking is the process of locating a moving object over time using a camera. The consideration of object's scale, rotation and shape deformation is the most important thing in robust object tracking. In this paper, we propose a robust object tracking scheme using Random Forest. Specifically, an object detection scheme based on region covariance and ZNCC(zeros mean normalized cross correlation) is adopted for estimating accurate object location. Next, the detected region will be divided into five regions for random forest-based learning. The five regions are verified by random forest. The verified regions are put into the model pool. Finally, the input model is updated for the object location correction when the region does not contain the object. The experiments shows that the proposed method produces better accurate performance with respect to object location than the existing methods.

Copyright Protection for Fire Video Images using an Effective Watermarking Method (효과적인 워터마킹 기법을 사용한 화재 비디오 영상의 저작권 보호)

  • This paper proposes an effective watermarking approach for copyright protection of fire video images. The proposed watermarking approach efficiently utilizes the inherent characteristics of fire data with respect to color and texture by using a gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) and fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering. GLCM is used to generate a texture feature dataset by computing energy and homogeneity properties for each candidate fire image block. FCM is used to segment color of the fire image and to select fire texture blocks for embedding watermarks. Each selected block is then decomposed into a one-level wavelet structure with four subbands [LL, LH, HL, HH] using a discrete wavelet transform (DWT), and LH subband coefficients with a gain factor are selected for embedding watermark, where the visibility of the image does not affect. Experimental results show that the proposed watermarking approach achieves about 48 dB of high peak-signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and 1.6 to 2.0 of low M-singular value decomposition (M-SVD) values. In addition, the proposed approach outperforms conventional image watermarking approach in terms of normalized correlation (NC) values against several image processing attacks including noise addition, filtering, cropping, and JPEG compression.

  • Recently, although the requirement of quality of VOD content has been transferred upto the class of HD, conventional management systems characterized by OS dependency are truly limited in quality of video image, stability, and compatibility of network environments. In addition most of the content management systems realize very limited capabilities for the real affairs of content management and distribution services in such an OS dependent environment. In this paper, we propose a new scheme of HD-Class VOD Content Management System to solve these problems. We design and implement the proposed system based on open sources by using H.264 video compression method. The proposed system offers high quality content management method based on opened systems and independent on-line distribution method so that it can be realized as an integrated management scheme for VOD contents. Moreover, our system solves the problems of occasional cutting-down video, small screen, and poor image quality that exist in the conventional wmv-type CMS. According to the result of performance evaluation, our system maintains sufficient performance and tolerence for the case of large scale HD content operations or fabrications. We expect that the proposed integrated DB scheme will especially be effective when the content management applications are changed from Internet Web environments to mobile terminal environments.

  • The watermarking method was suggested to protect the right of the copyright and the right of property, data loss is yes or not, copy prevention and pursuit about the brainchild(music, image, video and so on) in the early 1990. In this paper, we suggest the watermarking algorithm against the geometrical transformation of the medical images applied the Watershed algorithm. The robust watermarking methodology is being suggested using the several algorithm against the attacks such as compression, filtering, noise and geometrical transformation of the medical image.

A Study on the Data Compression Algorithm for Just-in-Time Rendering of Concentric Mosaic (동심원 모자이크의 실시간 표현을 위한 데이터 압축 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • Concentric mosaics are made with arranging and summing of video frames by using common spacial standards. Compared with previous works on 3-D wavelet transform coding, we have made important design considerations to enable flexible partial decoding and bit-stream random access. A just-in-time(JIT) rendering engine of the compressed concentric mosaic is developed. However, computationally, it is still demanding to accomplish the real-time rendering. Only the contents for specific scene representation are need to be decoded by maintaining compressed data. Thus our proposed algorithm is able to render real concentric mosaic by using lifting scheme instead of wavelet transform.

  • This paper presents H.264 coding schemes for multi-view video using the concept of layered depth image(LDI) representation and efficient compression technique for LDI. After converting those data to the proposed representation, we encode color, depth, and auxiliary data representing the hierarchical structure, respectively, Two kinds of preprocessing approaches are proposed for multiple color and depth components. In order to compress auxiliary data, we have employed a near lossless coding method. Finally, we have reconstructed the original viewpoints successfully from the decoded approach that is useful for dealing with multiple color and depth data simultaneously.

  • 본 논문은 스테레오 비디오 데이터 압축 및 복원을 위한 그리드(Grid) 기반 2D 워핑 방법을 제안한다. 스테레오 비디오에 대한 데이터 표현 방법으로 깊이지도 및 매쉬(mesh)를 이용한 방법이 주로 사용되어 왔으며 매쉬를 이용한 방법은 두 영상간의 매칭되는 노드를 이용하여 데이터 압축 효율을 높일 수 있다. 그러나, 두 영상에서 매칭되는 노드의 위치를 찾는 것은 매우 어려운 일일 뿐만 아니라 매쉬에 의해서 워핑된 영상과 목적이 되는 스테레오 영상의 좌측 또는 우측 영상간의 왜곡이 불가피하다. 따라서 이러한 왜곡을 보정하기 위하여 잔여영상(Residual image) 정보를 추가로 요구하게 된다.제안된 논문은 이러한 잔여영상 정보를 최소화 하기 위하여 반복적으로 2D워핑을 수행하며 최적화된 워핑 영상을 생성함으로써 목적영상과의 오차를 최소로 유지하여 추가정보인 잔여 영상의 데이터 용량을 최소화 한다. 전체영상에 대하여 2D워핑을 수행하며 각각의 노드를 변경하는 것은 많은 비용을 감수해야 하기 때문에 오차영역에 대하여 지역단위로 분할하고 단계적으로 최적화를 이루는 분할정복 방법을 사용하였다. 본 논문의 실험에서는 스테레오 영상에 대하여 각각의 신호대 잡음비(PSNR)를 통해 제안한 방법의 품질을 평가하였을 뿐만 아니라 기존의 메쉬 기반한 방법과 깊이지도를 이용한 방법과의 데이터량을 비교하였다. 실험결과를 통하여 제안한 방법의 데이터 압축의 효율성 및 품질의 우수성을 확인하였다.

Side Information Extrapolation Using Motion-aligned Auto Regressive Model for Compressed Sensing based Wyner-Ziv Codec

  • In this paper, we propose a compressed sensing (CS) based Wyner-Ziv (WZ) codec using motion-aligned auto regressive model (MAAR) based side information (SI) extrapolation to improve the compression performance of low-delay distributed video coding (DVC). In the CS based WZ codec, the WZ frame is divided into small blocks and CS measurements of each block are acquired at the encoder, and a specific CS reconstruction algorithm is proposed to correct errors in the SI using CS measurements at the decoder. In order to generate high quality SI, a MAAR model is introduced to improve the inaccurate motion field in auto regressive (AR) model, and the Tikhonov regularization on MAAR coefficients and overlapped block based interpolation are performed to reduce block effects and errors from over-fitting. Simulation experiments show that our proposed CS based WZ codec associated with MAAR based SI generation achieves better results compared to other SI extrapolation methods.

  • This papers proposes a motion vector coding method which selects the optimal predictive motion vector after excluding some candidate predictive motion vectors in the minimum rate-distortion sense, and prunes the candidate predictive motion vectors by a contradiction testing that operates under a predefined criterion at both encoder and decoder for reducing the signaling information. Experimental results show that the proposed method gains in BDBR by up to 1.8% compared to the H.264/AVC.
