  • Purpose: This study aims to find out the relationship between the impact of Korean crew on airline service quality in the global aviation market, which is the representative of the face-to-face sales and can help in the face-to-face market of aviation services. Research design, data: The survey was conducted for about a month from March 1 to April 6, 2020, and a total of 300 copies were used in the analysis of the results. To verify the hypothesis, data was analyzed using the statistical package program SPSS 18.0, and frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed. Results: It is a study on the sales of face-to-face service of crews of global airlines. Non-verbal elements in airline service face-to-face sales have been shown to have a significant impact on service quality. Conclusions: In the face-to-face service sales of global airlines, communication has been shown to affect service quality. A face-to-face sale using mother tongue means important. The better the flight attendant's linguistic face-to-face selling ability, the more positive on the airline's quality of service. It suggests that the communication skills of managers in the aviation service market are important for repurchase.

  • This paper aims to look into various symbolic meanings of the body shown in the film, Avatar (2009, James Cameron), and to ponder over a variety of media strategies carried by the pursuit of the corporality shown in this film. In a nutshell, the body in Avatar is a symbol of primitiveness rather than civilization, and the body language is a fundamental and effective means of communication much better than verbal language. A variety of physical contacts that appeared in many scenes of the movie emphasizes the role of the body as a means of real communication. Also, in the composition of the film dominated by the confrontation of civilization, numerous creatures in the planet Pandora with a variety of colors as well as a number of agencies and large body sizes express primitive richness. The narrative of the film telling the story of a 'moving' body ultimately emphasizes the superiority of the body with respect to consciousness, unlike the narrative of conventional movies dealing with the problems of the body. In addition, the corporality pursued by this film implies several important media strategies. It may reveal a self-reflection of the material civilization and the imperialism, or, on the contrary, an attempt to conceal or dilute them. It may also represent a self-reflection of the overdeveloped media technology, or simply the dilution of it. Finally, it may be an attempt to recover the feeling of "presence", not fully supported by the 3D technology, by the identification of the spectator's body and the character's body.

  • In this paper, we develope a type of humanoid robot which can express its emotion against human actions. To interact with human, the developed robot has several abilities to express its emotion, which are verbal communication with human through voice/image recognition, motion tracking, and facial expression using fourteen Servo Motors. The proposed humanoid robot system consists of a control board designed with AVR90S8535 to control servor motors, a framework equipped with fourteen server motors and two CCD cameras, a personal computer to monitor its operations. The results of this research illustrate that our intelligent emotional humanoid robot is very intuitive and friendly so human can interact with the robot very easily.

  • In nuclear power plant, the source of the energy is generated from the nuclear fuel rod. Given a certain level of consumption, the burnt fuel rod should be removed and replaced by a new(fresh) one. The burnt fuel is approximately one third of the whole fuel rods. Currently, this operation is done manually using paper documents and verbal communication and consumes a lot of operation time. In this study, we develop an computerized operation process of nuclear fuel rod replacement procedure based on the ERP(Enterprise Resource planning) methodology.

  • Recently, the virtual world where avatars are playing crucial roles in connecting users with each other receives much attention from practioners as well as academicians. Especially, Second Life is one of the most prevailing website where 3-D avatars can be easily designed in line with for users' personal tastes. However, there are no studies showing how the selling agents designed in 3-D avatars can affect customer trust and purchase intention in the context of virtual world. This study is concerned with suggesting the empirical results to fill in the research void like this. Results reveal that the proposed hypotheses are proven with statistical significance.

  • Nowadays, many robots have evolved to imitate human social skills such that sociable interaction with humans is possible. Socially interactive robots require abilities different from that of conventional robots. For instance, human-robot interactions are accompanied by emotion similar to human-human interactions. Robot emotional expression is thus very important for humans. This is particularly true for facial expressions, which play an important role in communication amongst other non-verbal forms. In this paper, we introduce a method of creating lifelike facial expressions in robots using variation of affect values which consist of the robot's emotions based on emotional boundaries. The proposed method was examined by experiments of two facial robot simulators.

  • Expressive face and human body gestures are among the main non-verbal communication channels in human-human interaction. Understanding human emotions through body gesture is one of the necessary skills both for humans and also for the computers to interact with their human counterparts. Gesture analysis is consisted of several processes such as detecting of hand, extracting feature, and recognizing emotions. Skin color information for tracking hand gesture is obtained from face detection region. We have revealed relationships between paricular body movements and specific emotions by using HMM(Hidden Markov Model) classifier. Performance evaluation of emotional human body recognition has experimented.
