  • In this paper, we modeled the complex dielectric constant and analyzed the projpagation characteristics of a FR-4 composite substrate with different compositions. From the wideband dielectric modeling and the propagation loss analysis of FR-4 composites that consists of FR-4 resin and E-glass reinforcement,we have found that the propagation loss and velocity increase with the volume fraction of FR-4 resin above 1 GHz. These results are helpful in determining to deisgn optimum substrate composition ratio and cross-sectional geometry of high-speed and high-density transmission line.

  • Numerical simulations for large scale triaxial tests with large diameter rockfill materials are conducted using distinct element method. For generation of compacted assembly with specific grain size distribution and initial material porosity, the clump logic method and expansion of generated particles are adapted. With micro parameters which are chosen by calibration process, discrete particle modelling of triaxial test in case of other confining stress and cyclic loading condition were conducted. Also numerical simulations of fluid injection into particulate materials were conducted to observe cavity initiation and propagation using distinct element method. The fluid scheme solves the continuity and Navior-Stokes equations numerically, then derives pressure and velocity vectors for fixed grid by considering the existence of particles within the fluid cell.

  • In this study investigated that topographical parametersestimate and calculated travel time, storage coefficient and lag time by watershed dividing 11, 8, 6 and 2. The results showed the more divide watershed, the more increase peak discharges. The results showed that Kraven-Clark-Kraven case is good simulated by compared observed data with calculated data. The sub-basin number are adequate $6{\sim}11$ for wichun and travel times compare observed data with calculated data at the younggok, to take about $18{\sim}20hr$ by simulated results but observed data shorter $8{\sim}10hr$. From this study results showed that it could be make narrow parameter estimate for observed hydrograph simulation, if more observed velocity and hydrograph. Also, as results of this study that is help to estimate parameters (arrival time, storage coefficient and lag time for Clark model.

  • Generally, it is indicated that concrete using fly ash as a part of cement content has lower early strength, and faster carbonation velocity. To improve these problems and provide useful information for high volume fly ash concrete, the properties of concrete - those include slump, bleeding, setting time, compressive strength and carbonation depth etc. - which contained large amount of fly ash as a part of fine aggregate were investigated experimentally. According to test results, it was found that the compressive strength of the concrete increased in early age as well as in long term age with the increase of the fly ash content. And the carbonation depth of concrete using fly ash as a part of fine aggregate was lower than that of plain concrete(FA 0kg/ $\textrm{m}^3$).

  • In this paper, an adaptive control law for nonlinear systems represented by input-output models are proposed under the assumption that unknown system parameters are in a known compact and convex set. Contrary to the previous results, the compact and convex set is not restricted to a ball whose center is at the origin or convex hypercube. It is proven that the proposed parameter update rule produces a sequence of parameters which reside in the set and guarantees that the position, velocity, and acceleration error converges to zero as time goes to infinity. This theoretical result was justified through simulations.

  • In this paper, a method of dynamic modeling and a dynamic control of a mobile robot are presented to show the superiority of the dynamic control comparing to the PD control. This dynamic model is derived from the cartesian coordinates using lagrange equations. Based upon the derived dynamic model, we implemented the dynamic control of the mobile robot using the computed torque method. Time varying non-linear friction terms are not incroporated in this dynamic model. Instead, those are considered as disturbances. This uncertainty in dynamic model of mobile robot is compensated by the outer loop controller using PD algorithm. The validity of this model and the control algorithm are confirmed through the experiments, where the dynamic control algorithm demonstrated robust velocity tracking performance against the unmodeled non-linear frictions. The superiority of this algorithm is demonstrated by comparing to classical PD control algorithm.

  • Inertial Navigation System(INS) can provide the vehicle position and velocity information using inertial sensor outputs without the use of external aids. Unfortunately INS navigation error increases with time due to inertial sensor errors, and therefore it is desirable to combine INS with external aids such as GPS, TACAN, OMEGA, and etc.. In this paper we propose an integration algorithm of commercial GPS/GLONASS and INS where an adaptive filter for signal processing of GPS/GLONASS receiver and the 12th order Kalman filter for aided strapdown INS(SDINS) we employed. Simulation results show that the proposed adaptive filter can effectively remove a randomly occurring abrupt jump due to sudden corruption of the received satellite signal and that the Kalman filter performs satisfactorily.

  • In induction motor control systems driven by the indirect vector control scheme, the rotor speed is measured to determine the flux angle which is a key variable in the control algorithm. The most popular way to measure the angular velocity is the use of rotary encoder. Since the errorneous measurement of rotor speed results in incorrect flux angle estimate, the control input generated based on the faulty information should be far from the desired (correct) value and deteriorates the overall control performance. In this paper the effects of encoder fault on motor variables and control performance are analyzed by both theoretical approach and experimental study. A parity equation based on the Power is suggested and applied to detect the incipient fault of encoder.

  • CSS(Chirp Spread Spectrum) technology adopt SDS-TWR algorithms of TOA(Time of Arrival) using velocity of specific medium and ToF(Time of Flight) to measure a distance, but this method always has a regular error on distance regardless of a real distance, as a result, in far distance, it decrease a error on distance relatively, but in near distance, it increase a error on distance relatively. in this paper, we propose and test new method measuring a distance more precisely in near distance using CSS and RSSI

  • This paper describes a development of rehabilitation training system for the postural balance control. A new rehabilitation training system, designated as a virtual cycling system, was developed to improve postural balance control by combining virtual reality technology with an unfixed bicycle. In this experiment, 20 normal adults were tested to investigate the influencing parameters of postural balance control. In order to evaluate the usefulness and the training effects of the system, several parameters Including path deviation, cycling velocity, cycling time, center of pressure, and head movement were evaluated and analyzed quantitatively. Also, to improve the effect of balance training, the visual feedback information related to the subject´s weight shift was ...
