  • Vibration of axially functionally graded nano-rods and beams is investigated. It is assumed that the material properties change along the rod and beam length. The Ritz method with algebraic polynomials is used in the formulation of the problems. Stress gradient elasticity theory is utilized in order to include the nonlocal effects. Frequencies are obtained for different boundary conditions, geometrical and material properties. Nonlocal parameter is assumed as changing linearly or quadratically along the length of the nanostructure. Frequencies are compared to constant nonlocal parameter cases and considerable differences are observed between constant and variable nonlocal parameter cases. Mode shapes in various cases are depicted in order to explain the effects of axial grading.

  • In this paper, the magnetic field influence on the wave propagation characteristics of graphene nanosheets is examined within the frame work of a two-variable plate theory. The small-scale effect is taken into consideration based on the nonlocal strain gradient theory. For more accurate analysis of graphene sheets, the proposed theory contains two scale parameters related to the nonlocal and strain gradient effects. A derivation of the differential equation is conducted, employing extended principle of Hamilton and solved my means of analytical solution. A refined trigonometric two-variable plate theory is employed in Kinematic relations. The scattering relation of wave propagation in solid bodies which captures the relation of wave number and the resultant frequency is also investigated. According to the numerical results, it is revealed that the proposed modeling can provide accurate wave dispersion results of the graphene nanosheets as compared to some cases in the literature. It is shown that the wave dispersion characteristics of graphene sheets are influenced by magnetic field, elastic foundation and nonlocal parameters. Numerical results are presented to serve as benchmarks for future analyses of graphene nanosheets.

  • A study that primarily focuses on nonlocal strain gradient plate model for the sole purpose of vibration examination, for graphene sheets under linearly variable in-plane mechanical loads. To study a better or more precise examination on graphene sheets, a new advance model was conducted which carries two scale parameters that happen to be related to the nonlocal as well as the strain gradient influences. Through the usage of two-variable shear deformation plate approach, that does not require the inclusion of shear correction factors, the graphene sheet is designed. Based on Hamilton's principle, fundamental expressions in regard to a nonlocal strain gradient graphene sheet on elastic half-space is originated. A Galerkin's technique is applied to resolve the fundamental expressions for distinct boundary conditions. Influence of distinct factors which can be in-plane loading, length scale parameter, load factor, elastic foundation, boundary conditions, and nonlocal parameter on vibration properties of the graphene sheets then undergo investigation.

  • In this paper, the important novelty and the defining a physical phenomenon of the resent research is the development of nonlocal stress and strain parameters on the porous sandwich beam with functionally graded materials in the top and bottom face sheets. Also, various beam models including Euler-Bernoulli, Reddy and the generalized formulation of two-variable beam theories are obtained in this research. According to a nonlocal strain elasticity theory, the strain at a reference point in the body is dependent not only on the stress state at that point, but also on the stress state at all of the points throughout the body. Thus, the nonlocal stress-strain elasticity theory is defined that can be actual at micro/nano scales. It can be seen that the critical buckling load and transverse deflection of sandwich beam by considering both nonlocal stress-strain parameters is higher than the nonlocal stress parameter. On the other hands, it is noted that by considering the nonlocal stress-strain parameters simultaneously becomes the actual case.

  • In this paper, thermal vibration of a nonlocal functionally graded (FG) plates with arbitrary boundary conditions under linear and non-linear temperature fields is explored by developing a refined shear deformation plate theory with an inverse cotangential function in which shear deformation effect was involved without the need for shear correction factors. The material properties of FG nanoplate are considered to be temperature-dependent and graded in the thickness direction according to the Mori-Tanaka model. On the basis of non-classical higher order plate model and Eringen's nonlocal elasticity theory, the small size influence was captured. Numerical examples show the importance of non-uniform thermal loadings, boundary conditions, gradient index, nonlocal parameter and aspect and side-to-thickness ratio on vibrational responses of size-dependent FG nanoplates.

  • Based upon differential quadrature method (DQM) and nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT), mechanical-hygro-thermal vibrational analyzes of shear deformable porous functionally graded (FG) nanoplate on visco-elastic medium has been performed. The presented formulation incorporates two scale factors for examining vibrational behaviors of nano-dimension plates more accurately. The material properties for FG plate are porosity-dependent and defined employing a modified power-law form. It is supposed that the nano-size plate is exposed to hygro-thermal and variable compressive mechanical loadings. The governing equations achieved by Hamilton's principle are solved implementing DQM. Presented results indicate the prominence of moisture/temperature variation, damping factor, material gradient index, nonlocal coefficient, strain gradient coefficient and porosities on vibrational frequencies of FG nano-size plate.

  • This paper studies the free vibration analysis of the piezo-magneto-thermo-elastic FG nanobeam submerged in a fluid environment. The problem governed by the partial differential equations is determined by refined higher-order State Space Strain Gradient Theory (SSSGT). Hamilton's principle is applied to discretize the differential equation and transform it into a coupled Euler-Lagrange equation. Furthermore, the equations are solved analytically using Navier's solution technique to form stiffness, damping, and mass matrices. Also, the effects of nonlocal ceramic and metal parts over various parameters such as temperature, Magnetic potential and electric voltage on the free vibration are interpreted graphically. A comparison with existing published findings is performed to showcase the precision of the results.

  • This paper develops a nonlocal strain gradient plate model for vibration analysis of graphene sheets under thermal environments. For more accurate analysis of graphene sheets, the proposed theory contains two scale parameters related to the nonlocal and strain gradient effects. Graphene sheet is modeled via a two-variable shear deformation plate theory needless of shear correction factors. Governing equations of a nonlocal strain gradient graphene sheet on elastic substrate are derived via Hamilton's principle. Differential quadrature method (DQM) is implemented to solve the governing equations for different boundary conditions. Effects of different factors such as temperature rise, nonlocal parameter, length scale parameter, elastic foundation and aspect ratio on vibration characteristics a graphene sheets are studied. It is seen that vibration frequencies and critical buckling temperatures become larger and smaller with increase of strain gradient and nonlocal parameter, respectively.

  • In this article, we study the solvability of the Cauchy-Dirichlet problem for a class of nonlinear parabolic equations with nonstandard growth and nonlocal terms. We prove the existence of weak solutions of the considered problem under more general conditions. In addition, we investigate the behavior of the solution when the problem is homogeneous.
