  • This paper proposes an efficient algorithm of extracting anchor blocks for a semantic structure of a news video. We define the FRFD to calculate the frame difference of anchor face position rather than simply uses the general frame difference. Since, The FRFD value is sensitive to existing face in frame, anchor block can be efficiently extracted. In this paper, an algorithm to extract a face position using partial decoded MPEG data is also proposed. In this way a news video can be structured semantically using the extracted anchor blocks.

  • This paper describes the application of the variable structure control(VSC) concept for the position control of electro-hydraulic servomtor system. The basic philosopy of VSC is that the structure of the feedback control is altered as the state crosses discontinuity surfaces in the state surface with the result that certain desirable properties are achieved. The switching of the control function yields total(or selective) invariance to system parameter variations and disturbances, and closed loop eigen value placement in time-varing and uncertain systems.

  • There are two kinds of irradiation intensity deviation, depending on time and position, on illuminated plane when thermal performance of solar collector is tested by using solar simulator. In this study we measured only position deviation of irradiation intensity using 45-cds photosensors and data acqusition system and found the point of average value. By this result we can improve the accuracy of irradiation measurement in indoor test of solar collector.

Many control system use I-PD, PIB control system. but the position control system have difficulty in controling variable load and changing parameter We propose neural network 2-DOF PID control system having feature for removal disturbrances and tracking function in the target value point.

  • We studied relation between the clothing pressure applied by types of brassiere, postures, feeling of tightness. The main results were summerized as follows; 1. The research subjects of this study were 9 who rate of body fat was borderline and degree of fatness was normal. As a result of clothing pressure, the most prefered value was $36.86g/cm^2$ on sensor 2 in standing position and the next was $34.76g/cm^2$ on sitting position. Furthermore, The maximum value of sensor 2 was $59.08g/cm^2$ (in standing), $57.93g/cm^2$ (in sitting). On the other hand, The average clothing pressure of bra C type was $23.67g/cm^2$ 2. Study on fracture characteristics of reinforced concrete wedge splitting tests

  • To study the influence on fracture properties of reinforced concrete wedge splitting test specimens by the addition of reinforcement, and the restriction of steel bars on crack propagation, 7 groups reinforced concrete specimens of different reinforcement position and 1 group plain concrete specimens with the same size factors were designed and constructed for the tests. Based on the double-K fracture criterion and tests, fracture toughness calculation model which was suitable for reinforced concrete wedge splitting tensile specimens has been obtained. The results show that: the value of initial craking load Pini and unstable fracture load Pun decreases gradually with the distance of reinforcement away from specimens's top. Compared with plain concrete specimens, addition of steel bar can reduce the value of initial fracture toughness KIini, but significantly increase the value of the critical effective crack length ac and unstable fracture toughness KIun. For tensional concrete member, the effect of anti-cracking by reinforcement was mainly acted after cracking, the best function of preventing fracture initiation was when the steel bar was placed in the middle of the crack, and when the reinforcement was across the crack and located away from crack tip, it plays the best role in inhibiting the extension of crack.

  • This paper reviews the properties and application methods of widely used types of risk measures, identifies the rationale and business-side effects of hedging, derives the theoretical formula of optimal hedging ratio, and analyzes the various functional aspects of VaR(Value-at-risk) as a risk measure and a hedging tool. Especially this paper focuses on the characteristics of VaR compared with other risk measures in terms of their own principal determinants and identifies its stronger aspects in the dimension of hedging strategy tools. As well, this paper provides the detailed processes deriving the optimal hedge ratios based on the distributional parameters and risk factors. In addition, this paper presents the detailed and substantial processes of estimating the minimum variance hedge ratio and minimum-VaR hedge ratio using the actual data and shows that the minimum variance hedge ratio proves helpful for many cases although it is not appropriate for the non-linear portfolio including the option contracts. We demonstrate the trade-off relationship between the minimum variance hedge strategy and the minimum-VaR hedge strategy in their hedging costs and performances through calculation of the respective VaRs and variances of unhedged and hedged portfolios and the optimal hedge ratio and hedging effectiveness values for the given long position in US Dollar with the short position in Euro.

  • The TDD LTE MU-MIMO HARQ system is designed and implemented using GPU based on 3GPP Rel.10 standard. The system consists of the DU part of the base station and the terminal using the general computer based on the GeForce GTX TITAN graphics card provided by NIVIDIA, and constructed the part of the RU using USRP N210 provided by Ettus. In the implementation part, SDR standard is applied, so that various communication standards can be compatible with software. The retransmission is implemented by combining the previous data with the retransmission data using Chase Combining among HARQ methods. In order to confirm that the retransmission was successful, the performance evaluation used LLR constellation. First, if there is an error in the data, the LLR value is not distributed at the corresponding position. in this case, a retransmission is performed to chase combine the previously stored error data and retransmitted data. As a result, the LLR value was distributed at the position of the corresponding LLR value per bit. Through this, it can be confirmed that error - free data is formed by using Chase Combining after retransmission.

Adaptive Background Modeling Considering Stationary Object and Object Detection Technique based on Multiple Gaussian Distribution

  • In this paper, we studied about the extraction of the parameter and implementation of speechreading system to recognize the Korean 8 vowel. Face features are detected by amplifying, reducing the image value and making a comparison between the image value which is represented for various value in various color space. The eyes position, the nose position, the inner boundary of lip, the outer boundary of upper lip and the outer line of the tooth is found to the feature and using the analysis the area of inner lip, the hight and width of inner lip, the outer line length of the tooth rate about a inner mouth area and the distance between the nose and outer boundary of upper lip are used for the parameter. 2400 data are gathered and analyzed. Based on this analysis, the neural net is constructed and the recognition experiments are performed. In the experiment, 5 normal persons were sampled. The observational error between samples was corrected using normalization method. The experiment show very encouraging result about the usefulness of the parameter.

Relationship between the GVC participation and the productivity in the Chinese Manufacturing Industries (중국 제조업에서 GVC 참여 정도와 위치가 생산성에 미친 영향 실증 분석)

  • This paper investigates the effects of China's participation in global value chains (GVC) on the productivities focusing on the manufacturing industries. In this study, several indicators of participation in global value chains were used. These include GVC participation, forward GVC participation, backward GVC participation and GVC position index. In particular, we used the data obtained from 18 manufacturing industries in China during 15 years from 2000 to 2014. The main results of the analysis are as follows. First, the higher the degree of total participation in GVC, the higher the productivity. This means that with the increase in exports and imports of intermediate goods, productivity has increased through technology spillover effects or competition effects, and so on. Second, the backward participation does not increase the productivities significantly while forward participation leads higher productivity. Third, the productivity improvement effects of GVC participation was larger in the high-tech industries than in the low-tech industries. These results show that GVC participation was helpful for the economic growth of China and the efforts for moving toward upstream production stage in GVC is necessary for the improvement of international competitiveness in Chinese manufacturing industry.
