Acoustic analysis study was performed on 20 normal subjects by speaking nonsense syllables composed of Korean bilabial stops(/p, $p^{*}$/, ph/) and their Preceding and/or following vowel /a/(that is, [pa, $p^{*}a$, pha, apa, $ap^{*}a$, apha]) with an ultraminiature pressure sensor in their mouths. Speech materials were phonated twice, once with a moderate voice, another time with a loud voice. The acoustic signal and intraoral pressure were recorded simultaneously on computer. By these procedures, we were to measure the intraoral pressure, closure duration and VOT of Korean bilabial stops, and to compare the values one another according to the intensity of phonation and the position of the target consonants. Intraoral pressure was measured by the peak intraoral pressure value of its wave; closure duration by the time interval between the onset of intraoral pressure build-up and the burst meaning the release of closure; Voice onset time(VOT) by the time interval between the burst and the onset of glottal vibration. Heavily aspirated bilabial stop consonant /ph/ showed the highest intraoral pressure value, unaspirated /p$^{*}$/, the second, slightly aspirated /p/, the lowest. The syllable initial bilabial stops showed higher intraoral pressure than word initial stops, and the value of loudly phonated consonants were higher than moderate consonants. The longest closure duration period was that of /$p^{*}$/ and the shortest, /p/, and the duration was longer in word initial position and in the moderate voice. In VOT, the order of the longest to shortest was /ph/, /p/, /$p^{*}$/, and the value was shorter when the consonant was in intervocalic position and when it was phonated with a loud voice.

Acoustic analysis study was performed on 20 normal subjects by speaking nonsense syllables composed of Korean bilabial stops$(/P, P^{\star}, P^{h}/)$ and their preceding and/or following vowel /a/ (that is, $[pa, p^{\star}a, p^{h}a, apa, ap^{\star}a, ap^{h}a]$) with an ultraminiature pressure, sensor. in their mouths. Intraoral pressure was measured by the peak intraoral pressure value of Its wave closure duration by the time interval between the onset of intraoral pressure build-up and the burst meaning the release of closure ; Voice onset time(VOT) on by the time interval between the burst and the onset or glottal vibration. Heavily aspirated bilabial stop consonant /$p^h$/ showed the highest intraoral pressure value, unaspirated /$p^{\star}$/, the second, slightly aspirated /P/, the lowest. The syllable initial bilabial stops showed higher intraoral pressure than word initial stops, and the value of loudly phonated consonants were higher than moderate consonants. The longest closure duration period was that of /$p^{\star}$/ and the shortest, /P/, and the duration was longer in word initial position and in the moderate voice. In VOT, the order of the longest to shortest was $/{p^h}/, /p/, /{p^\star}/$, and the value was shorer when the consonant was in intervocalic position and when it was phonated with a loud voice.
Mandibular rest position is very essential position because in that position, masticatory muscularture can be reciprocally coordinative and unstrained. So obtaining a good ability to establish and maintain rest position in non-functioning state is mandatory for treatment of patient with craniomandibular disorders. In general, many types of mandibulr movement exercise start from rest position and use the sense of muscle relearning, that is, muscle smoothness and relaxation, throughout the exercise period. In this study, 44 normal subjects for control group and 37 patients with craniomandibular disorders for experimental group participated and they were classified into 3 subgroups, respectively. One method to guide mandibular rest position was used for one subgroup, so theree methods were used for this study, 1)self-guided rest position without any education, 2) guided by Rocabado's tongue rest position, 3) guided through swallowing after Dawson's centric relation. To record electromyographic activity, Bioelectric processor EM2 (Myotronics, U.S.A.) was used. The numbers of sessions from start to stable resting electromyographic level and muscle activities in stable state were recorded and two recordings which were first and second, 3 days after first recording, were done, The data were processed with SPSS/PC+package. The obtained results were as follows : 1. Mean number of sessions in second recording were fewer than those in first recording in both groups. In comparison among 3 subgroups, mean number of sessions of subgroup guided through Dawson's method were fewer than those of other groups though it is not statistically significant. 2. There was a difference of mean number of sessions between control and experimental group in first recording, but in second recording there was no difference in any cases. 3. Mean value of muscle activity were generally not different without regard to group and method if once come to stable resting position level. Mean value of muscle activity of guided subgroups showed a tendency of decreasing in second recording than in first recording. However, in self-guided subgroup there was a inconsistent pattern. 4. The amounts of change in session number from first to second recording in control group were fewer than those in experimental group.
Purpose: In this study, we analyzed and compared the anatomical position of the mandibular canal in normal occlusion and mandibular prognathism patients. Patients and Methods: Computed tomography image from 58 patients were divided into normal occlusion group and mandibular prognathism group, and each measurement were taken in the each measuring points(2nd premolar, 1st molar, 2nd molar, 3rd molar, ramus). Measurements were statistically analyzed by student's t-test. Results: BC (Thickness of the buccal cortex) value was 2.3~2.7 mm, CB (Distance from the canal to the lingual aspect of the buccal cortex) value was 1.3~4.3 mm, MC (Diameter of the canal) value was 3.2~3.8 mm, LI (Distance from the canal to the lingual aspect of the lingual cortex) value was 2.0~3.7 mm, TM (Thickness of the total mandible) value was 9.5~12.9 mm and CM (Distance from the canal to the inferior border of the mandible) value was 6.9~17.5 mm. Conclusion: In the comparison between two groups, there was statistically significant difference in CB value of 2nd, 3rd molar between normal occlusion and mandibular prognathism, and other value in the rest of the measuring points didn't show statistically significant difference.

A localization system for indoor robots is an important technology for robot navigation in a building. Our localization system imports the GPS system and consists of more than 3 satellite beacons and a receiver. Each beacon emits both an ultrasonic wave and radio frequency. The receiver in the robot computes the distance from it to the beacon by measuring the flying time difference between ultrasonic wave and radio frequency. It then computes its position with the distance information from more than 3 beacons whose positions are known. However, the distance information includes errors caused from the ultrasonic sensors; we found it to be limited to within one period of a wave (${\pm}2\;cm$ tolerance). This paper presents a method for predicting the maximum position error due to distance information errors by using Taylor expansion and singular value decomposition (SVD). The paper also proposes a measuring parameter such as sensitivity to represent the accuracy of the indoor robot localization system in determining the robot's position with regards to the distance error.

Recently the interest in permanent magnet alternating motor using for electric compressor become great. Especially the research on Interior Permanent Magnet Motor has been doing actively for its advantages in the energy density and the efficiency. In order to control the output of motor to the desired value, the current control or speed control of motor are required. The accurate detection of rotor position and speed information are necessary for the control of motor. In general, the encoder, hall sensor, and resolver are used to obtain the information of motor position and speed and the speed detection algorithm, M/T method, is applied. However, the M/T method causes the error depending on rotor speed. Therefore, this M/T speed detection method is not perfect. In this paper, it is proposed that the PI control with a 1st transfer function and the integration element between velocity and position are composed in series and this feeds back to the reference value of position angle. The proposed algorithm is a function of the integral elements 2nd term, speed element, is used as an output. Thus, it is possible to detect the correct speed by configuring like the mechanical structure similarly. The proposed algorithm is verified by using PSIM DLL and is applied to the BLAC motor drive. And also it is confirmed that this system estimates the accurate speed regardless of rotor speed changes. As a example, the experimental results and simulations shows that the proposed method is very effective.
This study examined the vastus medialis oblique (VMO) and the vastus lateralis (VL) onset time differences (OTD) during quadriceps contraction in different hip positions. Twelve healthy subjects were recruited (four men, eight women). Surface EMG activities of the VMO and VL were measured during a quadriceps strengthening exercise in a long sitting condition and in a sitting at a chair with feet hanging condition. For each condition, subjects were tested in two hip positions (neutral and adduction). The OTD between the two muscles was calculated for each condition, by subtracting the onset time of the VL from the VMO. Therefore, the negative value of OTD represent earlier EMG onset of the VMO compared to the VL. The OTD was not significantly different between the hip neutral and the hip adduction position in the long sitting condition (p=.064). However, the OTD was significantly different between the hip neutral position ($15.83{\pm}109.51$ ms) and hip adduction position ($-5.58{\pm}121.08$ ms) during the sitting at a chair with feet hanging condition (p=.047). The negative OTD value in the hip adduction condition during quadriceps strengthening exercises is the result of earlier onset of the VMO than VL. Therefore, quadriceps contraction in the hip adduction position can prevent the risk of patella lateral tracking. We expect that quadriceps strengthening exercise in the hip adduction position will be a safe way to prevent patellofemoral pain syndrome resulting from abnormal patella lateral tracking.

Recently Recently, the incidence of spinal diseases due to poor posture among students and office workers is increasing, and various studies have been conducted to help maintain correct posture. In previous studies, a membrane sensor or a pressure sensor was placed on the seat cushion to see the weight bias, or a sensor that restrained the user was attached to measure the position change. In our previous study, we developed a sensor device which can be easily attached to the body with an adhesive gel sheet and that measures and outputs the user's posture and body position in real time, but it has a limitation in the accuracy of the sensor value. In this study, a study was conducted to improve the performance of the position conversion sensor device and quantitatively evaluate the accuracy of the angle conversion measurement value, and a high accuracy with 2.53% of error rate was confirmed. In future research, it is considered that additional research targeting actual users is needed by diversifying posture correction training contents with multimedia elements added.

A relationship between reader arrangement and DOP is derived from the geometry matrix of the TDOA-based position tracking system. It is shown that the minimum value of the DOP is affected by the number of readers, arrangement of readers and position of the tag. The relationship is verified through computer simulations for two cases of reader arrangement.
