Structure of Cholesteryl Crotonate (Cholesteryl crotonate의 구조)

  • The crystal structure of cholesteryl crotonate was investigated by X-ray diffraction. Crystallo-graphic data for the title compound: P2₁, a = 13.446(4) , b = 11.802(3) , c = 18.782(5) , β = 103.99(2)°, Z = 4. Reflections were collected with an Enraf-Nonius CAD-4 diffractometer equipped with a graphite monochromator. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by least-squares analyses. The final R value was 0.092 for 1604 reflections. The cholesterol fragment of the title compound were in good agreement with those for related cholesterol derivatives. The molecules were stacked in clearly separated layers. At the center of the layers, there were cholesterol-cholesteryl interactions between the symmetry-related A molecules and the cholesteryl-C(17) side chain of B molecules. There were also interactions between the C(17) side chain of A molecules and the crotonate chains off and B molecules in the interface region between layers. The crystal structure of the title compound turned out to be isostructural with those of cholesteryl ethylcarbonate, cholesteryl propylcarbonate, and cholesterol crotylcarbonate. The crystals show the liquid crystalline state having the cholesteric phase.

Preliminary Study on the Crystal Structure of Cholesteryl Isopropyl Carbonate (Cholesteryl Isopropyl Carbonate의 결정구조에 관한 예비연구)

  • Cholesteryl isopropyl carbonate(C31O3H52) is orthorhombic, space group P212121, a=6.266(4), b=10.836(5), c=47.364(20)Å, Z=4, Dc=0.98 g/cm3 and Dm=1.01 g/cm3. The intensity data were collected on a Nonius CAD-4 diffractometer with a graphite-monochromatized MoKα radiation to a maximum 2θ value of 40°. The structure are solved by direct methods and refined by Fourier and full matrix least-squares methods. The present R factor was 0.22 for 1513 observed reflections. The further refinements are in progress. Compared with other cholesterol derivatives, the cholesteryl ring and tail region of the molecule are normal. The molecular long axes are parellel to the c-axis. There are close packings of cholesterol groups and loose packings of isopropyl carbonate chains forming monolayers.

Ultrasonic Velocity and Absorption Measurements for poly (sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) and Water Solutions (Poly (sodium 4-styrenesulfonate)/ 물 이성분용액의 초음파 음속 및 흡수계수측정)

  • Both ultrasonic velocity at 3 MHz and absorption coefficient in the frequency range of 0.2-2 MHz were measured for poly (sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) aqueous solution over the concentration range of 5 to 25 % by weight. Pulse echo overlap method was employed to measure the ultrasonic velocity over the temperature range of 10-90 ℃ and the high-a ultrasonic resonator method was used for the absorption coefficient measurement at 20 ℃. The velocity exhibited a maximum value at approximately 55. 59, 63. 67, and 71 ℃ in 25, 20. 15, 10. and 5 wt% solutions, respectively. The velocity increased with poly (sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) concentration at a given temperature. The concentrations dependences of the relaxation frequency and amplitude showed that the relaxation around 200 kHz is related to the structural fluctuations of polymer molecules, such as the segmental motions of the polymer chains and that around 1 MHz resulted from the proton transfer reaction of the oxygen sites of SO₃. Both the absorption and the shear viscosity increase with the Polymer concentration. but decrease with temperature.

A Study on Electro-optical Characteristics in Three Kinds of Liquid Crystal Display Operating Mode

  • In this study, we investigated response characteristics of liquid crystal display (LCD) with different operating mode of nematic liquid crystals (NLCs) such as 45 $^{circ} twisted nematic (TN), 67.3 $^{circ} TN and electrical controlled birefringence (ECB) on the rubbed polyimide (PI) surface with side chains. The pretilt angles generated on polyimide surfaces of the three kinds of LCD operating modes were about 12 $^{circ} that was higher than those of conventional TN-LCOs. Also, the Electro-optical (EO) performance of these LCOs showed stable condition. Low transmittance of the 45 $^{circ} TN and 67.3 $^{circ} TN cell on the rubbed PI surface were measured by using low cell gap d. The fast response time in ECB cell among the three kinds of LCD operating modes was achieved. Also, thermal ability of fast 90 $^{circ} TN-LCD was investigated. The threshold voltage and the response time of thermal stressed TN-LCOs showed the same performances on no thermal stressed TN-LCOs. There was little change of value in these TN cells. However, the transmittances of TN-LCOs on the rubbed PI surface decreased while increasing thermal stress time. Therefore, the thermal stability of TN-LCD was decreased by the high thermal stress for the long duration.

  • The trend of globalization and the development of the communication-Information technology have led the organization of a complex supply chains which are more vulnerable to risks. The impact of risk on the supply chain can be adverse so importance of risk management on a supply chain has increased. In order to analyze the risk factors of transport system, this study described about the definition of transport risk and investigated the relationship between likelihood index and effect index of each risk factor. We identified risk factors on transport system and measured likelihood index and effect index of each risk factor. Finally, a numerical risk index, which is a value of total transport system, has been resulted by aggregating all indices. In addition, a case study using the proposed method has done on a heavy vehicle transport context with a transport company.

  • Currently, the government's announcement of the Korean version of the New Deal Comprehensive Plan ('20.7.14), expanding the supply of hydrogen production and charging facilities, and major companies are rapidly building related facilities such as liquefied hydrogen plants and charging stations. However, safety standards for production, storage facilities, transportation, and utilization of liquefied hydrogen value chains in Korea are insufficient, and safety technologies and safety standards over the entire period of liquefied hydrogen are urgently needed.   • In recent years, as there is growing concern with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), the strategic direction of business management is changing from maximizing shareholders wealth to maximizing stakeholders value. ESG is reshaping a corporation's supply chain management strategies. The purpose of this study is to explore the ESG challenges in supply chain management. As a result of network text analysis and topic modeling analysis on 3226 news articles, 'Suppliers', 'Sustainability', 'Shared Growth' 'Carbon Neutral', 'Safety and Health', 'Responsible Business Alliance', 'Supply Chain Due Diligence Law' were identified as the main issue. Since ESG initiatives in the supply chain are not limited to the efforts of individual firms, future research should focus on figuring out what difficulties and challenges exist in the diffusion of ESG practices along multi-tiered supply chains, and how to overcome them.

On the Design of Power Supply System for Freight Train Reefer Container Based on Simulation

  • In recent years, if we order food by easily accessing the online market with our smartphone, we can receive the product in a fresh state at dawn the next day. Cold chain is an industry that can create high added value because it has both the characteristics of general logistics and sensitivity to temperature. Based on the electrical specifications derived from the reefer container capacity requirement investigation, we proved that power supply to up to 33 reefer containers can be made by using three additional auxiliary power supplies which are applied for freight trains in Korea. In this paper, we conducted a research on a design of power supply system for freight train reefer container based on simulation as a basic research necessary for low-temperature distribution and cold chain construction based on the reefer container railroad. Consequently, the simulation was conducted using the three-phase inverter diagram in PSIM and the SVPWM (3-harmonic injection method) control technique, and it was verified that the required power voltage was satisfied with 622Vdc, which is lower than the input voltage of general SPWM of 718Vdc. The details of this paper could be used as a foundational study for constructing cold chains based on a reefer container dedicated to freight trains in the future.

  • Recently, various cryptocurrencies (coins) based on block chains have appeared, and interest in privacy coins, which is an anonymity-based cryptocurrency that values personal information protection, is growing. In this paper, we look at coin abuse cases using privacy coins, and analyze the technology that guarantees the anonymity of 8 mainly traded privacy coins (Monero, Dash, Zcash, BEAM, Grin, Horizen, Verge, and Pirate Chain). We would like to analyze the applied technologies for We present the problems that can occur in these privacy coins, check the technology and each element applied to the privacy coin, and analyze the technical difficulty of the anonymity guarantee technology for the mainly traded coins through this, and Appropriate countermeasures and classification of privacy coins for technical difficulty were presented through the problem. Through this, the standard for re-evaluating the value of the coin according to the application of appropriate technology for the privacy coin can be presented.

Uncertainty Factors affecting Bid Price from Pre-bid Clarification Document of Transport Construction Projects

  • Civil projects are associated with many uncertainties because they involve a long duration, many resources, a large area, and many supply chains. Therefore, the price of a civil project is not simply proportional to the quantity and unit price of the item but has a variable value, including uncertainty risk. This study investigates the influence of the uncertainty factors in the pre-bid clarification document on bid price formation during the project bidding phase. To this end, civil projects from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) were used as research data. This study randomly selected fifty sample data from each of twelve counties from 2008-to 2020: six hundred. The authors observed that each project sample had 0 to n query cases due to uncertainty. Then, this study examined the project uncertainty cases and categorized them into the following four uncertainty factors: 'conflict' (UF1), 'impossibility' (UF2), 'lack' (UF3), and 'missing' (UF4). Under the extracting process, the cases are classified into four uncertainty factors. With the project not containing any uncertainty factors as a control group, the project containing these uncertainty factors was designated as an experimental group. After comparing the bidder's price, the experimental group's bid price was higher than the control group's. This result suggests that uncertainty factors in bid documents induce bidders to set a high bid price as a defense against uncertainty.
