We investigated the possibility of introducing functional groups without damaging surface polymeric chains through the treatment of a polypropylene(PP) film immersed in liquid phase using an atmospheric pressure plasma with large area. The ionic liquid of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate: $[BMIM]^{+}[BF_{4}]^{-}$- was successfully applied for generating stable plasmas in the plasma-solution system. We successfully treated the film surface using the plasma-solution system and confirmed various oxygen-containing functional groups formed on the surface of PP film. The surface free energy of PP film was increased with increasing plasma treatment time and power. It also showed a maximum value at the PP sample treated in the ionic liquid solution of 1.5 M. ATR-FTIR analyses revealed the increase of various carbonyl groups(1,726 $cm^{-1}$, 1,643 $cm^{-1}$) and OH groups$(3,100{\sim}3,500\;cm^{-1})$ after plasma treatment of PP film, and XPS also supported the ATR-FTIR result.

The citation analysis is not applied to group measurements but to individual papers finding their impact factors among citation chains which are created by tracing citing-cited relationship between any two papers in data set. The individual impact factor is measured by adding each value derived from citation chain. Each paper's impact factor index is calculated by adding the values of each index by direct citing-cited relationship, and the values of each impact factor made by indirectly influencing to the papers in the citation chain. The research introduces a grace period, in which the system holds the papers not cited by other papers yet, but are expected to be cited within this period. Eventually not cited papers after the grace period would be eliminated by the system. The experiment suggests a reasonable database in which the highly influenced papers are gathered, and could be serviced in stead of buying databases filled with worthless not-cited-papers.
Practical experience with technology implementation of the upgrading of very small village industries in India suggests that innovation failures are not merely a result of the lack of proper interaction between the users and suppliers of technologies under implementation, but also a result of adoption of the primitive conception of competitiveness in their practice of technology development. The approach of promoting the small producers to become individually competitive by using labour intensive, small-scale intermediate technologies is proving to be totally inadequate for the achievement of technological efficiency in a dynamic sense. Guided by a primitive notion of competitiveness, the suppliers of intermediated technologies are thus being led into limiting their technological efforts in the sectors of direct interest to the rural industrial clusters to the transitional objectives of mainly poverty alleviation. Consequently they have not been able to target the small producers of these village industries for the objectives of business growth. This paper posits that under competitive conditions the self-employed small producer has not only to come together for access to resources, but also has to emerge as a multi-sectoral collective of producers, co-operating in production. With the aim to draw lessons that are generic and have policy implications for the development of innovation systems for local economy based rural industrial clusters and value chains, the author analyses in this paper the experience of innovation in technological systems for the sectors of leather, fruits and vegetable processing and agro processing by the People's Science Movement with the help of the Ministry of Science and Technology and other sectoral ministries in India where rural poor were required to pool the resources and capabilities for raising the scale and scope of their collective production organization.
The permeation properties of $O_2\;and\;N_2$ were measured for bromobisphenol A polysulfone(BPSf), bisphenol A trimethylsilylated polysulfone(TMSPSf) and their blend membrane to investigate the structure-properties relationships. BPSf shows relatively high permselectivity. It can be explained that the strong polarity of bromine in BPSf increases chain packing ability. In this case the distance of polymer chains is reduced by increasing of interchain interaction by induced dipole. TMSPSf shows relatively high permeability. The higher value of permeability coefficients for TMSPSf is due to the substitution of very bulky trimethylsilyl groups. The replacement of phenyl hydrogens of bisphenol A polysulfone(PSf) with trimethylsilyl groups results in higher fractional free volume(FFV). In this work, taking into account the complimentary features of BPSf and TMSPSf, BPSf/TMSPSf blend was prepared and the compatibility in mixing are examined. The BPSf/TMSPSf blend shows higher permeability than commercial PSf, with minimum loss of selectivity. The miscibility of the BPSf/TMSPSf blend is confirmed by the single glass transition temperature.

Acetolactate synthase (ALS, EC 4.1.3.18; also referred to as acetohydroxy acid synthase) catalyzes the first common step in the biosynthesis of valine, leucine, and isoleucine in microorganisms and plants. Recently X-ray structure of yeast ALS was available. Pair-wise alignment of yeast and tobacco ALS sequences revealed 63% sequence similarity. Using Deep View and automatic modeling on Swiss model server, we have generated reliable models of tobacco ALS based on yeast ALS template with a calculated pair-wise RMSD of 0.86 Angstrom. Functional roles of four residues located on the subunit interface (H142, El43, M350, and R376) were examined by site-directed mutagenesis. Seven mutants were generated and purified, of which three mutants (H142T, M350V, and R376F) were found to be inactivated under various assay conditions. The H142k mutant showed moderately altered kinetic properties. The E143A mutant increased 10-fold in K$_m$ value while other parameters remained unchanged. The M350C mutant was strongly resistant to three tested herbicides, while the R376k mutant can bind with herbicide carder at similar affinity to that of wild type enzyme, as determined by tryptophan quenching study. Except M350V mutant, all other mutants were ate to bind with cofactor FAD. Taken together, it is likely that residues H142 and E143 are located at the active site, while residues M350 and R376 are possibly located at the overlapping region of active site and herbicide binding site of the enzyme. Our data also allows us to hypothesize that the interaction between side chains of residues M350 and R376 are probably essential for the correct conformation of the active site. It remains to be elucidated that, whether the herbicide, upon binding with enzyme, inactivates the enzyme by causing change in the active site allosterically, which is unfavorable for catalytic activity.

In this study, surfactants were synthesized using fatty alcohols of 8, 10, 12 and 14 carbon chains length. The structures of the synthesized surfactants was confirmed by FT-IR and $^1H$-NMR analysis. The surface tension of the diluted surfactant was measured as 26~32 mN/m depending on the carbon length and the critical micelle concentration was measured as $10^{-3}{\sim}10^{-5}mol/L$.The minimum value per molecule of the synthesized sulfonic acid surfactant is 1.68 to $1.30nm^2$. The physical properties of the synthesized surfactants were determined by measuring the critical micelle concentration, foaming power, emulsifying stability, and contact angle.
Supply chain in service sector has been established on the premise that firms need to manage their process uncertainties to satisfy customers in an efficient manner. Information sharing and synchronization play key roles in minimize uncertainties from their involved supply chain. The duality of customers being inputs providers as well as consumers, differentiates service supply chains from manufacturing and is a challenging issue to traditional supply chain management. The service supply chain is a structured network which should be managed with supply chain theory and principles. Various key operations need to be carried out through a highly integrated and collaborated service supply chain and supporting information hub. The purpose of this paper is to present the issues and key components in the service supply chain, where the repetitive service is provided along the value chain, such as tourism, restaurant, mega-sized hospital supply chain.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the formation and characteristics of Gwangju photonics agglomeration as a new agglomeration with a new industry. Data used in this study are locally investigatedfirm related data and the result of questionnaire surveys. Major findings are as follows. First, in the viewpoint of policy, national government suggested the whole policy frameworks and financial support for the strategic industrial development. Regional government picked up and fostered the strategic industry. The initial support of the national government and role of regional government triggered the initial development of the agglomeration. Second, in the spatial perspective, Gwangju photonics agglomeration is based on the externalities of knowledge and technology as well as the input-output network within value chains of production. There is a possibility that Gwangju photonics agglomeration will be developed as an innovation cluster of knowledge-based economy in the future beyond a mere production base of photonics.

The global environment is rapidly changing due to the Coronavirus outbreak, especially in areas that have been relatively neglected, such as border areas. In particular, In the post-COVID era, the border area between the two Koreas requires a new perception and conceptualization as a space for reconciliation, cooperation and coexistence. Through the status and outlook of post-COVID era, this paper analyzed the promoting directions of each situation, such as SWOT analysis, depending on the characteristics of changes such as domestic preference, changes into standards of new national competitiveness, changes into regional value chains, and the transition to digital economy in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Based on the previous analysis, this paper proposed realistic approaches such as the utilization of buffer zones, expansion of non-political cooperation to prepare resilience, and promotion of new growth engine industries. In addition, this paper suggested prepared strategies for analyzing the influence of positive and negative cases and responding to them by writing possible scenarios.
