Study subjects were 97 orthopedic patients who received fixed treatment more than two weeks and started rehabilitation exercise in a military hospital. The data were summarized using descriptive statistics and analyzed by t-test or one way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were run in SPSS 20.0 program. Results: The results of this study may be summarized as follows. (1) The demographic characteristics that showed differences in rehabilitation motivation were marital status, age and the ranks of the armed forces. The rehabilitation motivation of married, older than 31, officer ranked soldiers turned out to be higher than those of singles, younger than 30, non-officers, respectively. (2) The results of Pearson's correlation analysis showed that independent variables were all correlated significantly each other. (3) The results of stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that the factors influencing rehabilitation motivation were family social support, medical personnel's social support and the level of military life adaption. Conclusions: The rehabilitation motivation of hospitalized soldiers may be improved by receiving supports from family members and medical personnels and by adapting to military life. Military medical workers need to explore nursing strategies that help hospitalized orthopedic patients increase their own rehabilitation motivation.

  • This study aims to determine the factors influencing student performance using the teaching and learning process through e-learning based on the unified theory of acceptance and use technology (UTAUT). This study also sets out to propose additional variables to expand the UTAUT model to be more suitable to use in higher education. This research conducted a literature review, expert interviews, and a self-administered survey involving 200 students at tertiary institutions in Riau province, Indonesia. The questionnaire data were analyzed using SmartPLS 2. This study shows that UTAUT constructs, namely, social influence, facility conditions, and effort expectancy have a significant influence on student behavior and performance, while the performance expectancy variable shows no significant effect. The additional variables, including lecturer characteristics, external motivation, and organizational structure, directly affect student performance. However, concerning student behavior, motivation and environment are the only variables with a significant effect. The results of this study suggest the behavior deteminant such as lecturer characteristics, motivation and environment, and organizational structure improve student performance. This study investigates factors affecting the performance of university students through the learning employing e-learning by developing the UTAUT constructs to include the lecturer characteristics, motivation and environment, and organizational structure in improving student performance.

  • The increasing number of retrenchments because of the current global pandemic, Covid-19, has led many to shift to the digital economy, especially among the low-income group (B40) in Malaysia. Crowdsourcing is the collection of information, opinions, or work from a group of people, usually sourced via the Internet. Fueled by the development of Internet-based platforms that provided its technological foundation, and the need for an agile and uniquely skilled workforce, crowdsourcing has grown from the grassroots, with a burgeoning body of research investigating its many aspects. However, very few studies examined crowd workers' motivation for continuous participation on online crowdsourcing platforms. Thus, this paper aims to explore the technological factors that facilitate B40's group motivation in Malaysia to continue to participate in online crowdsourcing platforms. This paper employed a qualitative approach, using a semi-structured interview. The thematic analysis method was used to decode the data extracted from the interview transcript. The finding of this study identified four main themes and seven sub-themes: (1) Technology efficacy, (2) Platform Management: client-worker management, safety net, payment mechanism, (3) Platform Design: UI design, rating feature and (4) Infrastructure: Internet connection, technology infrastructure. This study can provide a guideline for managing crowdsourcing practices in Malaysia, especially for the crowdsourcing platform developer.
