IATA is playing a central role in the process of changing the international technical standards of common-use system which supports the airport check-in and boarding business in conjunction with the airline systems from CUTE to CUPPS. IATA expects that if the airport common-use system is changed to CUPPS, the development and maintenance costs related to the airline's common-use system can be reduced by the implementation of the standard interface about check-in and boarding business-related equipment and the certification of airline applications. Incheon International Airport is in the face of stiff competition with major Northeast Asian Airports to attract more airlines. To be more competitive than other airports, switching over to CUPPS is vital for airline's cost-saving effect. This study builds on CUPPS international technical standards and suggests design and implementation plans of Incheon International Airport's component-based next-generation common use passenger processing systems to support the various functions of user's requirements.

This paper dealt with the design and implementation of an expert system to monitor and diagnose the lightning arresters in GIS substations. The expert system consists of a data acquisition module(DAM) based on microprocessor and diagnostic algorithms. The DAM measures and analyzes several parameters necessary for the arrester diagnosis such as system voltages, leakage current components, and temperatures. Also, it includes an intelligent surge counter which can record the date and tin, the polarity, and the amplitude of surge currents. All the data acquired is transmitted to a remote computer by a low rate wireless network specified in IEEE 802.15.4 to avoid electromagnetic intereference under high voltage and large current environments. The decision-making for the arrester diagnosis completes with a Java Expert System Shell(JESS) which is composed of a knowledge base, an inference engine and a graphic user interface(GUI).

A sensor network which is composed of a large number of sensors that perform various sensing is applied in a variety of fields. The sensor networks can be widely used for various application area like as home automation, fire detection and security area. Development of new sensor to have appropriate functions and deployment of networks for suitable application are served actively. In this paper, we design and implement a system that monitors various factory facilities by deploying sensor network at a working place which threatens the worker's safety. A sensor node reports its sensing data like as temperature and humidity to monitor facilities to a sink node. And the server which is connect to the sink node gathers and provides information by user interface. In addition, digital data which are generated at a work place can be transferred via the sensor network to increase the efficiency of works. The proposed sensor network provides the convenience of working, since it is deployed at a garbage collection company to monitor a temperature and humidity of garbage and to transmit data about the weight of trucks which enters the company.

Recently, systems providing the interaction different according to an interval between a user and the display were developed in order to construct the ambient or the ubiquitous computing environment. Therefore, we propose a new type of spatial interaction system; our main goal is to provide the interactive domain in the large-scale ambient display environment. So, we divide into two zones of interaction dependent on the distance from the interaction surface interactive zone and ambient zone. In interactive zone, the users can approach the interaction surface and interact with natural hand-touch. When the users are outside the range of the interactive zone, the display shows only general information. Therefore, this system offers the various interactions and information to users in the ubiquitous ambient environment.

Although the supply of smartphones by the silver generation has increased in recent years, low learning, experience levels and understanding make it difficult to use them. In thid paper, we proposes remote control UI applications to support the use of smartphones by the silver generation. For the proposed application, the key features of the feature phone are arranged in a $3{\times}2$ arrangement on the Home screen to enable quick recognition and proposed application provides remote control via Node.js server and socket communication, in case of difficulties in the use of incidental function, increases the understanding and availability levels of the silver generation using smart phones by providing support through remote control.

The "intelligent internet power outlets" realized in this study use Internet environment to connect electrical and electronic products to the Net as well as to enable remote monitoring and control. They also have temperature and light sensors, and even offer scheduling options by means of a universal calendar run by an inner real-time timer. Furthermore, they control 4 outlets handling 4 external input conditions and infrared remote control with easy-to-use functions for home automation control. The user interface is equipped with an embedded Web server and UDP protocol handler, and which also allows special control programs be used with the Web browser. Thus, installing this real-time power control function with optimal scheduling and various communication functions will provide you with energy-efficient power outlets outfitted with the increasingly popular "standby power" electric power efficiency.

Due to rapid advance of wireless communication technology and popularization of wireless devices, demand on wireless internet contents is gradually increasing. Therefore, there are many researches and solution developments to provide good qualified contents quickly for wireless internet. For example, researches into converting wired web contents into wireless web contents or using integrated markup language like XHTML basic to make contents. In this paper, I propose a method to develop XML-based web contents which uses PHP language for data fetch from MySQL database. This method use open source software for a cost saving. Due to use of PHP extension as a XSLT engine, this method is very easy to apply. For a example of this method, a web content of movie information is implemented for PC and PDA browser. Developing XML-based web contents is useful not only for supporting devices of multiple type, but also for rapid changes of user interface design and for exchange of contents between web sites.

Recently, with the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution, the diversified industrial base and stable employment market have led to increased concern on the metropolis centered manufacturing. However, To enhance the added value and competitiveness of the manufacturing industry in Seoul, it is necessary to develop specialized smart-based technology and production, and to establish a collaborative system among various businesses in the areas of planning, production, and logistics. Accordingly, I planned a service that is necessary for activation of the urban manufacturing industry in Dongdaemun area of Seoul to enable designers to construct an infrastructure for direct production. The proposed content is a hands-on application that provides information to producers who want to make their own unique products with which they can buy materials from Dongdaemun, Cheonggyecheon, and Uljiro areas.

The battery lifetime is one of the most important factors in product qualities of mobile devices such as mobile phones, MP3 players, PMP. It is used to be displayed by a 'battery bar' icon with uniformly divided three or four blocks. However, several manufacturers of mobile phones have assigned uneven time ratios to each battery block because they believe that it can make users feel more long in battery lifetime. In this study, two experiments were performed. The first is to verify the effects of the uneven time ratios in each battery block on users' cognitive awareness of battery lifetime. The second is to investigate whether the compatibility between battery displays and actual time ratios affects the users' time perceptions. The results show that as low battery bar is maintained for a long time, users tend to be aware of the battery lifetime shorter. On the contrary, maintaining full battery status longer does not affect the users' time perception. These results can be applied as the guidelines for determining proper time ratios in designing the battery bar indicator of mobile devices.

In this paper, in order to help one to write contents for education in such a way to increase effectiveness, we implement SMIL editor, which helps anyone to author contents for education and multimedia text in an easy way based on multimeda language SMIL. Thanks to its interface which utilizes WYSIWYGT, this editor allows teachers or other users who do not know SMIL to write contents for education and multimedia text in an easy way and to check in a real time how a partially completed document work and to revise when it is not satisfactory. It also allows one to write contents with explanations to help learning because usable multimedia objects can be inserted. This editor helps the user to reduce his inconvenience that he has in memorizing SMIL tags and to reduce his time and offers in writing the documents.
