Reduced RBF Centers Based Multiuser Detection in DS-CDMA System

  • The major goal of this paper is to develop a practically implemental radial basis function (RBF) neural network based multi-user detector (MUD) for direct sequence (DS)-CDMA system. This work is expected to provide an efficient solution for RBF based MUD by quickly setting up the proper number of RBF centers and their locations required in training. The basic idea in this research is to estimate all the possible RBF centers by using supervised ${\kappa-means$ clustering technique, and select the only centers which locate near seemingly decision boundary between centers, and reduce further by grouping the some of centers adjacent each other. Therefore, it reduces the computational burden for finding the proper number of RBF centers and their locations in the existing RBF based MUD, and ultimately, make its implementation practical.

  • The computer game market has grown rapidly with numerous games produced all over the world. Most games have been developed to make gamers have fun while playing the games. However, there has been little research to address the elements of games that create the perception of being fun. The objectives of this research are to focus on which features provide fun, and then analyze these aspects both qualitatively and quantitatively. This study, through surveys with game players and developers, provides several inputs regarding what it is, that makes certain computer games fun. There are many common characteristics which fun games share, and through grouping and organizing these traits, then compiling the data for use in an AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process), we measured the disparity in the 'fun' perception between game developer and game user.

토픽 모델링을 이용한 유사 시청 사용자 그룹핑 및 TV 프로그램 추천 알고리듬 (Topic modeling based similar user grouping and TV program recommendation for Smart TV)

  • 본 논문에서는 토픽 모델링 기반 TV 프로그램 유사 시청 사용자 그룹핑 및 이를 이용한 TV 프로그램 콘텐츠 추천 알고리듬을 제안하였다. 제안 기술은 토픽 모델링 기법 중 Latent Dirichlet Allocation(LDA) 방법을 이용하여 TV프로그램 시청 기록 내에서 은닉된 유사 사용자들을 그룹핑하고 이러한 유사 시청 사용자 그룹 정보를 이용하여 사용자에게 선호 TV 프로그램 콘텐츠를 자동으로 추천하는 알고리듬이다. 제안된 자동 추천 알고리듬의 성능평가를 위해 실제 TV 시청기록 데이터를 이용하여 훈련 기간과 검증 기간을 나누어 훈련 기간 동안 제안한 알고리듬을 이용하여 사용자 개인에 대한 추천 TV 프로그램 콘텐츠 목록을 생성하여 검증 기간 동안에 실제 추천된 TV프로그램을 얼마나 시청했는지를 측정하여 추천 정확도를 검증하였다.

매크로 파라메트릭 방법론은 이용한 CAD 모델의 교환 (Exchange of CAD Models Using Macro Parametric Approach)

  • It is not possible to exchange parametric information of CAD (Computer Aided Design) models based on the current version of STEP (Standard leer the Exchange of Product model data). The design intent can be lost during the STEP transfer of CAD models. The ISO Parametrics Group has proposed the SMCH (Solid Model Construction History) schema in June 2000 that includes structures fur exchange of parametric information. This paper proposes the macro parametric approach that is intended to provide capabilities to transfer parametric information. In this approach, CAD models are exchanged in the form of macro files. The macro file contains user commands which are used in the modeling phase. To exchange CAD models using the macro parametric approach, modeling commands of commercial CAD systems are analyzed. Those commands are classified by the grouping method suggested by Bill Anderson. As a neutral file format, a standard modeling commands set has been defined. Mapping relations between the standard modeling commands set and the native modeling commands set of commercial CAD systems are defined.

Usability of Wireless Application Protocol Interface in the Philippines

  • The existence of Internet revolutionized the computer and communications world. With the rising demand for accessing the Internet, the mobile technology has incorporated the use of Internet in mobile phones. Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) has combined two of the widest utilized technology today: mobile phones and Internet. This study aims to assess the existing WAP pages offered by the top service providers in the Philippines through usability testing experiments. The paper also aims to identify existing problems in WAP interface by focusing on the errors committed by the users. From the usability study, it was found out that common usability problems are wrong selection of links, unclear grouping of categories, wrong feedback, and redundant links. The type of service provider used is significant in determining the performance of users while experience in accessing WAP is insignificant.

  • Since their first inception a few decades ago, software components have received much attention mainly due to their alleged benefits of quality and productivity improvement. Despite this, it is yet to be agreed upon what and how components should be designed. This paper aimed to bridge the gap by proposing a collaborative process where the voice of the customer is captured and documented by employing the event and entity models. These requirement elements (WHAT) are cross-tabulated in three relation matrices in accordance with the weights provided by the business users. The requirements are fed into the algorithm invented by the authors to optimize the component grouping (HOW). This collaborative process has been successfully validated at an enterprise wide software development project. The process was effective to help the users more actively involved in the design of the system and made the whole process faster and more adaptive to the changes.

Semantic-Based K-Means Clustering for Microblogs Exploiting Folksonomy

  • Recently, with the development of Internet technologies and propagation of smart devices, use of microblogs such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram has been rapidly increasing. Many users check for new information on microblogs because the content on their timelines is continually updating. Therefore, clustering algorithms are necessary to arrange the content of microblogs by grouping them for a user who wants to get the newest information. However, microblogs have word limits, and it has there is not enough information to analyze for content clustering. In this paper, we propose a semantic-based K-means clustering algorithm that not only measures the similarity between the data represented as a vector space model, but also measures the semantic similarity between the data by exploiting the TagCluster for clustering. Through the experimental results on the RepLab2013 Twitter dataset, we show the effectiveness of the semantic-based K-means clustering algorithm.

  • 디지털 공간에서 개인과 조직의 활동기록이 축적되면서 활용할 수 있는 정보의 양도 폭발적으로 증가하고 있는 환경에 있어 사용자에게 가장 절실한 요구사항은 '유용한' 정보의 '효율적인' 획득에 있다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 이슈 탐지 기술을 활용하여 국방 정보 서비스로의 접목, 디지털 융복합을 시도한다. 국방 분야와 관련된 웹 상에 공개된 대량의 콘텐츠와 국방 보고서 및 DB를 연계하여 무기체계, 정책 및 훈련, 기관 및 조직 등에 대한 국방 이슈를 실시간으로 탐지하는 특화 기술을 개발하고자 한다. 이를 위해 실시간 국방 이슈 탐지 및 그룹핑 기술에 대한 요구사항을 수렴하고 분석하여 핵심 기능을 도출하고자 한다. 또한 '국방' 분야에 특화된 언어자원을 보강하고 이슈성 지수 자질을 발굴함으로써 도메인 특화 이슈 탐지 방법의 차별화를 꾀한다. 더불어 실제 수집된 웹 뉴스미디어에 기반한 국방 분야 이슈 탐지 결과와 기존 이슈 탐지 결과와 비교함으로써 그 차이를 규명하고자 한다.

분산 멀티미디어 스트리밍 서비스를 위한 분할과 사상에 의한 프록시 캐싱 그룹화 (Proxy Caching Grouping by Partition and Mapping for Distributed Multimedia Streaming Service)

  • 최근에 분산 환경에서 서버를 거치지 않고 사용자가 요구하는 미디어 객체를 프록시로부터 직접 서비스하기 위한 동적 프록시 캐싱 기법이 제안되고 있다. 그러나 이러한 기법들은 멀티미디어 데이터 크기, 지연시간, 연속적인 미디어 객체 서비스 요구 등으로 인하여 여러 문제점들이 제기되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 분할과 사상기반의 퍼지필터링에 의한 캐싱 그룹화 기법을 제안하였다. 분할과 사상을 위해 미디어 블록세그먼트를 고정분할 참조블록(RfP)와 가변분할 참조블록(RvP)로 구분하였으며, 시멘틱 관계성을 위해 고정분할 시간동기화(Tf)와 가변분할 시간동기화(Tv)에 의해 퍼지 관계성이 수행되도록 하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 제안된 기법이 평균 요청응답률과 캐시 히트율을 증가시키고 시간지연율을 줄이며 스트리밍 서비스를 효율적으로 수행하게 됨을 알 수 있다.
