  • The near future smart ubiquitous computing oriented system will have to provide the optimal (right) service through interactions between users and the system. To provide the right services what the user needs, we should choose the user-centered development for reflecting the user needs, but not the developer-centered development. To do this, we proposed User Behavior Analysis Based Needs Extraction Method [1]. In this paper, we propose Object Extraction and Modeling Method from the user requirements with Fillmore's Case Grammar.

  • In this study, we propose a virtual community recommendation model based on user behavioral models. It is designed to recommend optimal virtual communities for an active user by applying case-based reasoning (CBR) using behavioral factors suggested in the technology acceptance model (TAM) and its extensions. Also, it is designed to filter its case-base by considering the user's needs type before applying CBR. To test the usefulness of our model, we conduct two-step validation - experimental validation for the collected data, and survey validation for investigating the actual satisfaction level. Experimental results show that our model presents effective recommendation results in an efficient way. In addition, they also show that the information on the user's needs type may generate opportunities for cross-selling other commercial items.

  • Rapid changes to the paradigm of smart media have created a communication environment through merging with various media such as IoT technology, which is internet of things. Among them, user' need for a start home, which is one of people living conditions, has been growing and values of the communication environment in a living space using a smart mirror have been growing. However, studies on figuring out behavior and analyzing needs of family members who actually use the living space are insufficient. This study is to draw the service system of the home smart mirror by analysis of behavior and needs of users of the living space. For a research method for analysis of behavior of family members, I wrote two kinds of user's experience maps, which are frequency of use of a quantitative space of a living space and space's important value scales by persona study and depth interview. Through this, applied spaces of the home smart mirror (living room, bathroom, powder room, dress room, porch, kitchen, room) and the types of user needs (type of providing information, entertainment type, control type, service type) have been drawn and statistical analysis methodology has been utilized for a research of user preferences in regard to correlation between living spaces and types of user needs based on a survey. As a result of analysis of ages and gender, types of user needs by space have been drawn and the service system of the home smart mirror has been drawn. It would be utilized as a basic material for various contents development and design using the smart mirror in the future.

  • A great deal needs to be learned about why and how users participate and consume information on various online sites. The design of socio-technical systems especially for promoting engagement in terms of maximum user participation is both a theoretical and real-world challenge that researchers strive to understand. At present, most of the research on the motives of Internet video users' behavior focuses on the user's "viewing motivation" and "sharing motivation", and lacks the analysis of the factors affecting users' "subscription motivation". This study will attempt to compensate for this gap. Based on the YouTube platform, we take Chinese video users as the research object and uses the "Censydiam user motivation analysis model" to make assumptions about user subscription motivation from the two levels of social needs and personal needs, using regression analysis. Validate the hypothesis and get the influencing factors that may be available in the user's subscription motivation based on the assumptions. Built on survey data from 215 respondents, the study found that Enjoyment, Vitality, Power, and Conviviality are four factors that influence user motivation.

  • Identifying customer needs and improving products and services accordingly is essential for survival and growth in modern business. It's important to do this successfully because it's directly related to increasing customer satisfaction and making the products more competitive. However, user reviews are characterized by unstructured data, which requires various stages of processing for analysis. Due to the need for specialized knowledge and skills to analyze reviews and apply appropriate solutions, small business owners often find it challenging to quickly adopt and reflect customer needs. Therefore, this paper proposes a method that utilizes ChatGPT to identify important and new words in user reviews to derive new customer needs.

  • Recently, Internet is used widely. Many Web sites, however, are not designed based on user's view. So, this research aimed at grasping the user needs and structure of Web site which user used easily. First, to grasp user needs, questionnaires about the motivation, the purpose and the evaluation items of Web page were done. As a result, we found the easiness for the user. Next, we made subjects operated test pages in which the number of classes and the amount of information were changed. We collected the quantitative data of the optimum number of classes, amount of information and retrieval time. As a result, there was a significant difference in each numerical value. The results of this research are available when constructing a web site. so, usability of Web site can be improved by them.

  • The purpose of information retrieval is to help users solve their problems. To fulfill the purpose the user's problem needs to be focused on. The purpose of this study is to identify components and the structure of the user's problem in an academic research environment. From this study it was found that the scientific problem dealt within an academic environment is complicate and the problem is composed of 8 topical and 4 non-topical components. And they could be organized into a stucture. This study has three implications for user-oriented information retrieval. (1) The components and the structure of the problem need to be the framework for the effective information retrieval process and for the evaluation of information retrieval. (2) The research methodology used in this study can be applied to other information service situations and this will result in greater practical implication of a study for more effective information retrieval. And (3) for more effective user-oriented information retrieval, the user needs to be observed and studied in the actual' situation. This study showed that the complicate problem of the actual user can be studied in a systematic way and this resulted in important implications for information retrieval.
