This study aims to develop a smart uniform with embedded luminescence for street cleaners to enhance visibility, safety, and long-term usability, informed by real users' opinions. It employed mixed-methods research comprising three phases: first, a pre-interview to identify existing problems; second, experiments to evaluate the visibility and durability of the technology embedded in smart uniforms during machine washing; and third, a post-survey and observation to assess user satisfaction regarding safety, long-term usability, and aesthetic aspects. Prototypes were developed to evaluate long-term usability and safety based on users' opinions. The findings indicated users desired long-term usage without the need for additional wear and highlighted concerns about the glare from light-emitting devices. The developed prototypes demonstrated long-term usability, remaining functional after more than 25 machine washes without reducing brightness or structural integrity. Regarding participant satisfaction, 83.5% of users were satisfied with the design, both aesthetically and functionally. This study offers a viable approach to developing user-centered designs incorporating light-emitting devices, which enhance visibility and provide aesthetic satisfaction while ensuring long-term usability. The results hold significant implications for future design research focused on vulnerable populations, emphasizing integrated satisfaction in terms of safety and long-term usability.

Consequently, significant differences were found in immersivity, presence, efficiency, satisfaction, playfulness and It was verified that the developed usability principle is useful in developing AR based smartphone apps. This study is meaningful in that it conducted the basic research of mobile AR usability principles
In the "digitalized" world of new media, visual designer are increasingly enlarging their roles in desighing interaction products. However, the concepts and their methods of the interaction design have not been well established in the design community yet. The reason is attributed to the fact that designing interaction products requires two way communication between the products and final users. whereas traditional graphic design counts only on one way communication. This study emphasizes GUI design should aim at improving the usability of products which helps users quickly learn about the products and easily use them. The usability of GUI design significantly improved by securing logical rationality helps designers communicate and collaborate with program engineers and other product developers. To explain how designers can effectively communicate with program engineers and other product participants in the design process, a model of design collaboration is provided in this study. Based on the model, the study deals with the principles and methods of visual interaction, the formulation of specification system, testing design usability, and design evaluation. The study concludes that GUI designers must ensure logical rationality and the cognitive approach of visual language. Because it improves the usability of products. It also becomes an objective tool for communicating and collaborationg with engineers and the other participants in the design process.
Augmented reality applications offering location based service on smart phone require attention to users and new usability evaluation methods. The aim of this paper is to introduce new usability principles for application development and usability evaluation, and conduct expert evaluation on the augmented reality applications. We created a set of usability principles by analyzing characteristic of augmented reality applications, and conducted expert evaluation on three augmented reality applications primarily used by smart phone users. In expert evaluation and filtering procedure, we identified six usability problems that three applications have in common and the improvement guideline for the usability problems. The results of expert evaluation was verified by user test with a prototype that was developed using the guidelines. It is expect that the results of this study can be presented usability principles of the augmented reality application and a method of usability evaluation in the middle of new technology development process.

Due to the wide growth and popularity of social network website, large numbers of users discover these social network sites are a place where they can be able to spend their leisure time sharing interests, sharing ideas freely, sharing personal experience, and also to search for new friends or partners. These websites give an opportunity for its users to socialize with new people and to keep in touch or reconnect with current or old friends and families across disperse continents, which traditionally replace the common traditional methods. These social network websites need accurate and careful investigations and findings on the usability issues for effective interactivity and more usability. However, little research might have previously invested on the usability of these social network websites. Therefore, we propose a new framework to study and test the usability of these social network sites. We namely call our framework "Interactivity". This framework will enable developers to assess the usability of the social network sites. It will provide an overview of the user's behavior while interacting in these social network websites. Performance of the framework will be performed using Camtasia software. This software will entirely capture the interactivity of users including the screen and the movements, which the screen and the motion of the user action will undergo to analysis at the end of our research.
Purpose: This study was conducted to confirm the usability of virtual reality-based anatomy education programs for nursing college students and to identify factors that affect their usability. Methods: Data were collected from 143 nursing college students in Gyeonggi-do using a structured questionnaire from May to June 2022. The data analysis was analyzed using real numbers, percentages, means and standard deviation, ANOVA, Scheff's test, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression using the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. Results: The subject's usability was 4.26 points (out of 5). The variable that has the greatest influence on the usability of virtual reality-based anatomy education programs is perceived innovation (β=.370, p<.001), followed by perceived pleasure (β=.295, p=.001), perceived ease (β=.253, p<.001), smartphone usage time per day (β=.102, p=.031). These variables explained 70.6% of the usability of virtual reality-based anatomy education programs. Conclusion: The results of this study can be utilized as basic data for a virtual reality-based anatomy education program that will be developed and applied to nursing students in the future.

Usability heuristics("heuristics") are general principles for usability evaluation during user interface design. Our ultimate goal is to extend the practice of usability evaluation methods to a wider audience(e.g. user interface designers and engineers) than Human Computer Interaction(HCI) professionals. To this end, we explored the degree to which Jakob Nielsen's ten usability heuristics are understood by professors and students in design and computer engineering. None of the subjects received formal training in HCI, though some may have had an awareness of some HCI principles. The study identified easy-to-understand heuristics, examined the reasons for the ambiguities in others, and discovered differences between the responses of professors and students to the heuristics. In the course of the study, the subjects showed an increased tendency to think in terms of user-centric design. Furthermore, the findings in this study offer suggestions for improving these heuristics to resolve ambiguities and to extend their practice for user interface designers and engineers.
The present study examined the usability of the web site design, focusing on the cognitive characteristics of the WWW. Specifically, we conducted two major non-experimental usability testing methods on the domestic web sites with various purposes. In research I. we used an on-line questionnaire method on 12 domestic web sites. As a result. several critical usability features and factors were identified. In research 2. we carried out a heuristic evaluation method to identify more specific usability problems The result of research 2 suggests that the heuristic evaluation method reveals more specific problems of the web site design than the questionnaire method.
As the gap between competing products narrows in terms of performance and quality, the product usability is rapidly becoming a new dimension of product design as the key to offering distinctive value to the customer. Because the user interface is important, not only for the user but also for the efficiency of te whole organiation, system designers require increasingly precise evaluation methods to determine how effective and usable human-product interface is. In this study a new methodology named usability analysis diagram(UAD), for evaluating usability of human-product interface systematically, was developed. UAD is a top-down flow diaagram of a human-product interaction, in ehichfour basic elements - perception, understanding, intellectual decision and action - were classified and then represented by a particular symbol for each. The usability of the product is assessed by the frequency of each symbol in a diagram which represents a sequence of cognitive and physical activities of users during the use of the product, and by the level of difficulty that is classif- ied in three levels in terms of easiness of perception, understanding and action. In order to test validity of the proposed UAD in a real situation, a case study was performed on two different cameras, automatic and manual, and their usability was successfully evaluated and compared.
