일본(日本)의 초등학교(初等學校) 여유교실(餘裕敎室)의 전용(轉用)과 한국(韓國)의 유휴교실(遊休敎室) 활용(活用) 사례(事例)에 대한 연구(硏究) (A Case Study on the Utilization of Unused Classrooms Between Japapese and Korean Primary Schools)

  • This study aims at revealing utilization planning by surveying and analyzing unused classrooms of primary schools' facilities between Japan and Korean. Focused on high and multi-functionization, rather qualitative aspect than quantitative. Various and positive utilization planning of unused classrooms are needed. In Japan, unused classrooms of primary schools have already appeared in urban and rural area together. However it has been presented the effective utilization of these facilities even though many schools have tried using those. With these circumstances, Educational Authorities in Japan have researched the utilization methods of these facilities to use as supporting facilities for school education, management and opening to regional communities. Also, they are promoting to refer each school to a guide handbook for unused classrooms. Therefore, this study with some cases between Japan and Korean should be valuable data for effective use and planning of our cases.

중.고등학교 학생들의 환경보건에 대한 지식 태도 조사 연구 (A Study on Both Understanding and Attitude of the Middle and High School students Relating to Environmental Health)

  • This study was conducted to contribute to development of both educational materials and programs necessary to effectively teach the environmental health to the students of the middle and high schools, by analysing their understanding and attitude toward the environmental health. Also this study was carried out with 3120 male and female students of the middle and high schools in the urban and rural areas for three months from April 1 to June 30, 1993. Based on this study is required for the related authorities, schools, experts and patents to make all their efforts, in other for the students to correctly understand the environment while this study contributes to the development of educational programs useful for effectively studying the environment and of educational materials concerning environment of the middle and high schools.

학교급식비 관리의 효율적 개선을 위한 연구 - 공동조리 및 단독조리 급식학교의 비교 - (A study on the Efficient Improvement of Meal cost Management in Elementary School Foodservice - A comparison of commissary with conventional school foodservice systems -)

  • Commissary school foodservice system has been expanded rapidly in elementary foodservices in Korea. Therefore, it is essential that cost effectiveness should be assessed by comparing between alternative systems. The objectives of this study were to assess the effects on meal costs of foodservice systems and other school characteristics in terms of meal costs/day per 1 person ; to examine financial management practices and dietitians' perception concerning importance of school foodservices financial management. A total of 16 commissary schools in nationwide and 102 conventional schools at Chungnam province and Seoul were participated in this survey by mails. The results are as follows 1. Average meal costs per one person was 1,232.6 won evaluated on the standards of monthly budget basis on June, 1994. Average food costs per one person was 836.1 won(67.83%), average labor cost was 320.1 won(25.97 %) and operation costs was 76.3 won(6.2 %). 2. Average meal costs per one person did not show any significant difference between commissary and conventional foodservice schools. Meal costs of the island type and the rural type were significantly higher than those of the urban type. Meal costs of schools in Chungnam and other province were higher than schools in Seoul. The schools with less than 200 feeding numbers were higher than the schools more than 201 in meal costs per one person. 3. Food costs per one person were higher in the urban type, especially in Seoul, as the scale of feeding number increased. Labor costs and operational costs were increased in island type as well as in the schools of small feeding numbers. 4. Foodservice teachers, not dietitians were in charge of foodservice duties at the 75 % of satellites. Dietitians participated in the satellite foodservice duties were only averaged at 2.19 visits per month of 20 feeding days. 5. Items which influenced by food costs per person at the step of foodservice production were purchasing method, the perception of inventory, the distributor for foodservice, and usage of standardized recipes.

지상 고밀도 관측 시스템을 이용한 대구의 여름철 고온현상 조사 (Investigation of Urban High Temperature Phenomenon in Summer using the High Density Ground Monitoring System in Daegu Metropolitan Area)

  • We analyzed diurnal variations in the surface air temperature using the high density urban climate observation network in Daegu metropolitan city, the representative basin-type city in Korea, in summer, 2013. We used a total of 28 air temperature observation points data(16 thermometers and 12 AWSs). From the distribution of monthly average air temperature, air temperature at the center of Daegu was higher than the suburbs. Also, the days of daily minimum air temperature more than or equal to $25^{\circ}C$ and daily maximum air temperature more than or equal to $35^{\circ}C$ at the schools near the center of Daegu was more than those at other schools. This tendency appeared more clearly on the days of daily minimum air temperature more than or equal to $25^{\circ}C$. Also, the air temperature near the center of the city was higher than that of the suburbs in the early morning. Thus it was indicated that the air temperature was hard to decrease as the bottom of the basin. From these results, the influence of urbanization to the formation of the daily minimum temperature in Daegu was indicated.

공동조리 급식학교의 운영실태 및 영양사 업무 평가 (Evaluation of Central Commissary School Foodservice Operations' Practices and their Dietitians' Job Duties)

  • Central commissary school foodservice operations' practices and their dietitians' job duties were assessed and compared with those of their counterpart of conventional school foodservice operations to find out strategies for early settlement and better management for commissary system. Survey qestionnaires consisted of general background, employees' work schedule and dietitians' job duties. 12 commissary schools(out of 22 existing in Korea) and 77 conventional schools from Kyungkido were participated in the survey. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: 1. Central commissary school foodservice was presently utilized at 5 schools from islands type, 11 schools from rural type, and 6 schools from urban type, consisting total of 22 commissary schools, and 52 satellite schools. 2. Dietitians were evenly employed with their experiences, 55.5% were those with less than 2 years of experience, 44.6% were those with more than 2 years of experience. 3. Commissary schools employed more full-time empolyees$(1.8{\pm}0.7)$ than conventional schools$(0.3{\pm}0.5)$, however as far as the production capacity was concerned, only the part-time employees played significant roles(p<.01). Regardless of the number of students, an absolute number of full-time employees were employed, and their duties were not carried out efficiently. The part-time employees of commissary schools performed more loaded work compared to their counterparts in conventional schools. 4. Out of the dietitians' foodservice duties, 'basic food service production$(3.9{\pm}0.7)$' were carried out adequately, whereas 'nutrition education and advertisement$(2.5{\pm}0.6)$' and 'administrative affairs and information related duties$(2.8{\pm}0.9)$' were not. In order to enhance their working capacity, systematic organizational reforms are imminent. 5. Survey results also showed that dietitians performed less duties at satellite school than at the central commissary. This indicates more systematic foodservice management practices are urgently needed.

농촌지역 초등학교 보건실의 공간구성 및 특성 -청원군 지역을 중심으로- (The Characteristics and Spatial Configuration for a Nurse's Office in an Elementary School in a Rural Area -Focused on Cheongwon Gun Area-)

  • As the importance of health and school health grows, the purposes of this research are to investigate the differences between the characteristics and the utilization of the nurse's office of an elementary school in an urban area and the nurse's office of an elementary school in a rural area, and to provide the data for the planning of construction of a nurse's office convenient for students to use after grasping the regional characteristics. The methods of this research include the interview and the survey conducted to the heath teachers after visiting 20 nurse's offices in 13 eups and myeons, and examined and analyzed the differences between the characteristics and the utilization of the nurse's office of elementary schools in an urban area and the nurse's office of an elementary school. The nurse's offices of the elementary schools in Cheongwon, a rural area, are worse in access to health care institutions and in the connection to the placement than those of the elementary schools in urban areas, so most of eups and myeons were not allowed for easy access to medical service. Depending on the bad personal surroundings of each elementary student, mental stress and the lack of heal care of each student should be taken care of along with the educating of the parents and the children. Also because of the difficulties in access to the health care institutions, it is suggested that a lot of support and interest should be provided for the nurse's offices and that a lot of changes with functions should occur to the nurse's offices so that the nurse's office of an elementary school can play the role as a local health care institution. Besides, the health teachers also should be able to provide more professional medical services by taking in-service training courses.

Creating a school nutrition environment index and pilot testing it in elementary and middle schools in urban South Korea

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The role of a school's nutrition environment in explaining students' eating behaviors and weight status has not been examined in an Asian setting. The purpose of this study was to create a school nutrition environment index and to pilot test the index in elementary and middle schools in urban South Korea. SUBJECTS/METHODS: This study used a mixed-methods approach. Environment assessment tools were developed based on formative research, which comprised literature reviews, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions. Key elements from the formative research were included in the assessment tool, which consisted of a structured survey questionnaire for school dietitians. Fifteen school dietitians from 7 elementary and 8 middle schools in Seoul completed the questionnaire. RESULTS: The formative research revealed four main sections that guided a summary index to assess a school's nutrition environment: resource availability, education and programs, dietitians' perceptions and characteristics, and school lunch menu. Based on the literature reviews and interviews, an index scoring system was developed. The total possible score from the combined four index sections was 40 points. From the 15 schools participating in the pilot survey, the mean school nutrition-environment index was 22.5 (standard deviation ${\pm}3.2$; range 17-28). The majority of the schools did not offer classroom-based nutrition education or nutrition counseling for students and parents. The popular modes of nutrition education were school websites, posters, and newsletters. CONCLUSIONS: This paper illustrates the process used to develop an instrument to assess a school's nutrition environment. Moreover, it presents the steps used to develop a scoring system for creation of a school nutrition environment index. As pilot testing indicated the total index score has some variation across schools, we suggest applying this instrument in future studies involving a larger number of schools. Future studies with larger samples will allow investigation of the validity and reliability of this newly developed tool.

비도시권 고등학교 학생을 위한 진로교육 비즈니스 모형에 관한 탐색적 연구 (An Exploratory Study on the Business Model for Career and Academic Counseling in Non-Urban High Schools)

  • 진로 및 학업상담교육은 학생들과의 지속적이고 일관성있는 상호작용과정이라 할 수 있다. 그렇지만 진로교육은 단순히 전공, 대학 및 직업에 대한 조언이나 상담수준에 머무르지 않는다. 학생들의 장기적인 진로관련 효능감 제고를 위해서는 진로교육 상담교사와의 지속적이고 개인적인 접촉이 요구된다. 그러나 통계조사에 의하면 비도시지역의 고등학교의 경우 대도시의 학교와는 달리 진로교육 및 상담을 전담하는 교사들의 배치율이 낮아 진로교육과 관련한 또 다른 문제에 봉착하고 있다. 본 논문은 이와 같은 상황을 다소나마 보완할 수 있는 현업전문가의 교육기부를 전제로 하는 진로교육프로그램을 제안한다. 구체적으로 대도시 MBA 동문회의 지원을 전제로 하는 사회적 기업 창업을 통해 지속가능한 서비스 제공 프로세스를 설계하고자 한다. MBA 재학생 및 동문들의 스킬, 지식, 역량 등을 활용하여 진로교육 및 상담교육 과정을 운영한다. 결론으로 비도시지역의 고등학교 학생들의 진로에 대한 동기 유발과 지속적인 관심유발을 제고할 수 있는 사회적 책임 측면에서의 편익을 강조하는 것으로 마무리하고자 한다.

초등학교 주변을 중심으로 본 서울시 도시녹지 현황 분석 및 고찰 - 원격탐사 방법을 이용한 식생분류 - (Study on the Current Status Analysis of Urban Green Spaces in Seoul Focusing on Elementary School Surroundings - Remote Sensing Based Vegetation Classification -)

  • 도시자연은 물리적 환경개선 기능은 물론 사회적, 정서적 측면에서도 중요한 역할을 한다. 특히, 학교에서 생활하는 시간이 많은 우리나라의 경우 학교 옥외공간을 비롯하여 인근에 조성된 녹지공간은 자연체험의 기회가 적은 도시 아이들이 가장 쉽게 자연을 접할 수 있는 일차적인 장소이다. 본 연구에서는 우리나라 대도시의 녹지현황을 학교 주변을 중심으로 살펴보고자 한다. 서울시 185개 초등학교를 선정하고, 학교 옥외공간을 포함한 반경 300m 이내(본 연구에서 '학교존'으로 정의) 주변 녹지 현황을 RapidEye 다중분광 인공위성 영상을 사용하여 분석하였다. 학교존 평균 녹지율은 약 21%이고, 최고 74%에서 최소 0.7%까지 편차가 매우 큰 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 과반수 이상의 학교존 녹지율이 20% 미만이다. 학교존 녹지율이 높은 학교 대부분이 산기슭에 위치하고 있어 산림면적이 학교존 녹지율을 높이는데 기여한 것으로 분석되며, 산림녹지의 경우 식생활력 또한 기타 도심지에 조성된 조경수목식재지보다 상대적으로 높은 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 학교존 녹지율이 낮은 학교들 대부분은 고밀 주택지 인근에 위치하고 있으며, 녹지의 식생활력 또한 상대적으로 낮게 나타났다. 도시산림을 제외한 시가화지역에서 학교존 녹지의 많은 부분을 차지하는 것은 아파트단지내 조경녹지시설이며, 그 밖에 친환경적인 학교 옥외공간이나 가로공원 등 도시오픈스페이스가 차지하는 비중은 미미하다. 이러한 현실을 감안하여, 도시계획적인 맥락에서 학교존 녹지율이 낮은 지역을 우선 대상으로 학교숲 조성사업을 지원하거나 주변지역의 옥상녹화를 장려하고, 학교주변 아파트단지내 녹지공간을 학교옥외공간과 유기적으로 연계하여 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 도시오픈스페이스로 개방하는 등의 체계적인 대책 마련이 필요하다고 하겠다.
