Korean adults have dietary habits of eating full three meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner evenly. The latest survey showed that people who have dinner most was 61.8%, and who have lunch most was 30.8% and then breakfast most was 7.4%. The Korean Nutrition Association suggests that daily required amount of salt intake is 3,450 mg (8.7 g). But the daily amount of salt intake of Korean people is 15 ~ 20 g which surpasses the required amount. needed with 15 ~20g a day, which is usually formed before the age 6 as a dietary habit. When Koreans eat out, they choose Korean food(80.5%), Chinese food(7.0%), Western food(4.5%), fast food(4.8%), etc.(3.1%). The monthly frequency of the urban adults' eating out indicated 32.6% 'seldom', 41.1% 'less than 5 times monthly', 15.6% '5-10 times', 10.8% 'more than 10 times'. Most of them responded less than 5 times a month for eating out. If we look into dietary habits of the urban adults, the monthly eating out frequency of the respondents, was 73.6% of eating out by less than 5 times a month and was 74.9% of the respondents dine regularly.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate achievements of a community health center for vulnerable population in urban areas and to find out its strength and weakness. Method: This evaluative study employed system theories and analytic techniques. Results: The purpose of improving vulnerable population's health-related self-care abilities adequately met the operation of programs. This center maintained close connection to a nursing college as a information resource. The subjects' satisfaction was high because team members who visited them were faithful and there were face-to-face contact, sufficient time set, closeness and resourcefulness. There were needs for regular meetings to discuss overall matters in organizing the program and to improve management skills. The mean score of health promotion lifestyle was 2.23 on a 4 point scale. This score indicates what in higher than vulnerable people in other communities. Conclusions: Community-based nursing centers for vulnerable population in urban areas should be developed as support organizations and community network.
The purpose of this study is to perform an analysis on the design methods of the "UR Housing Stock Renewal Design Competition" for Hanahata No.27 Housing by the UR Renaissance Agency in Japan. The analysis is done by looking at the aspects of lifestyle, demographics, environment, and community changes. The results are as follows: 1) Since demographic changes are caused by low fertility, aging populations need the support of locally-based social welfare facilities of which the architectural aspect can be examined. 2) Changes in lifestyle, such as diversity of family composition, flexibility of work, and improvement of leisurely activities require residents to have public spaces and facilities 3) Since environmental changes caused by deteriorated housing need the conversion of awareness about housing estates as a social asset. 4) To revitalize the community, houses, public facilities, and communal outdoor spaces must be connected. The results of this study are expected to serve as clues to the future direction of sustainable conversion in Korea.
The management aggravation of forests and the increase in the demand on resorts promote the urban use of forests, and the development of forests-using resorts is becoming an important political issue. Based on this understanding, this paper purports to examine the causes for the failure of the Shinrin Toshi policy (development of living space and resorts) which Japan promoted, and also examined the future direction of the development of forest resorts in Korea. As a result of the study, it was found that the Shinrin Toshi policy of Japan was promoted through the new changes of bubble economy and forest culture theory, and various strategies for the co-existence of human beings and nature were worked out. However, the policy took precedence without concrete plan production, which was found as the direct cause for the failure. The reasons for not having concrete plan production were: the target and the resort lifestyle (who will use it and what life will be developed) were not clear; the subject of the policy was restricted to state forests; and the dependence on civil capital in the promotion of the policy was too big. Therefore, in order to make the Shinrin Toshi policy successful, concrete lifestyle how the forest resort will be used and operated - needs to be set up and resources should be concretized. For this, the concrete demand on the forest resort life and the traditional community property of forest areas will have to be examined.
Purpose: This study aims to explore the distribution of work-life integration against COVID-19 and its Implications by analyzing remote work in Switzerland. Research design, data and methodology: The study performed literature review and descriptive analyses using various data such as perception surveys, statistics, and related documents. Results: The infectious disease was a turning point for many people in Switzerland by changing where and how people want to live. Since the COVID-19 crisis demonstrated that disease could be spread by proximity, negative perception about urban areas expanded, and rural areas are increasingly preferred due to fresh and clean air and a more ecological lifestyle. In addition, increased remote work, a change brought about by COVID-19, has subsequently led to changes in household habits and needs. Distance from work is no longer an important factor when someone chooses where to live. A trend is now emerging where households wanting to improve the quality of life leave the city center and move to the suburbs. Conclusions: Paradoxically, such trend accelerated by the COVID-19 crisis has an unintendedly positive impact on the distribution of work-life integration across society while providing more flexibility in terms of place and time management and lowering the burden on roads and infrastructure.

Since 'Hanok Expanse Support' has been started in Seoul, its target was expanded from renovation to new construction and from 'Hanok District' to all area in Seoul. The newly built hanok with Hanok Expanse Support had to follow the standards about the form of the hanok and adapt to modern lifestyle. However, the newly built hanok were planned with 'kan' since it retained the traditional wooden structure. So their composition of kan were considered to be influenced by the standards of each district and modern lifestyle. Therefore the aim of this study is to understand the architectural characteristics of newly built hanok in Seoul since 2000 focusing on the kan composition. Because of the differences in site conditions and the district unit plan, newly built hanok in Hanok District have more limited changes than Other District. However, kan is composed variously in horizontal and vertical ways to make the most space according to site conditions and most of the newly built hanok have opened courtyard rather than closed courtyard layout. With kan composition in various directions and kan added under the eaves, kan is highlighted in form. On the other hand, the composition of kan as an interior spatial element has changed and weakened because the lifestyle has changed compared to the traditional hanok and the 20th century urban hanok. Also the regular kan composition of Mom-chae and Nalgae-chae has changed. And kan is divided regardless to the wooden structure. Also, with the added kan under the eaves the main kan is dismantled inside. This paper indicates that although there is an undeniable premise that the case is restricted to hanok received Hanok Expanse Support on the condition of following the standards of the form of hanok, it is a part of the transitional changes that hanok is experiencing.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the 'Scenery of the Urban Residence' represented in Korean films of the liberation period. It is assumed that public films reflect the human activities, residential culture and cityscape of those days. For the analysis, a pool of 7 Korean films from 1946 till 1949 was constructed. In these films, the sceneries of the urban life were represented as the following: 1) The western-style architectural spaces, such as cultural residence and apartment were emphasized to reflect the longing and curiosity of the general public for modern culture and lifestyle. 2) The cityscape including a narrow alley, crossroads and modern buildings was intentionally represented to express visually the city of Seoul under the slow wave of modernization.

The study aims to synthesize the discussion of the innovation district and suggest an alternative to the governance system of the innovation district. Cluster policies that focus on industrial specialization, networking, value chains, and industrial ecosystems have shown some problems and limits in advanced industrial economies. The innovation district, suitable for the era of urban innovation, convergence of industry, housing, leisure, and related variety, emphasizes cooperation through the convergence of various innovations, workshops and industries, and communities. It is important to build a quintuple helix based on cooperative governance through public-private partnerships, integrate the physical and cultural atmosphere, and service industries that strengthen the place prestige. Beyond the industrial aspect, innovation districts can facilitate changes in urban amenities and lifestyles and creative atmosphere, such as diversity, lifestyle, charms, and openness, and promote social vitality and economic interactions. The governance of innovative districts can promote inter-organizational exchanges, and combinations. When knowledge is created through exchanges between companies, it also affects changes in the governance system, evolving from a rigid and centralized system to an open, dynamic, and organic system. Through the innovation policy, the existing Central Business Districts (CBD) can be able to be transformed into a Central Lifestyle Districts (CLD).
Over the past few decades, changes in patterns of behavior (e.g., diet, smoking, alcohol consumption, and physical activity) have led to major changes in health status, characterized by increases in obesity, Type II diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, and some cancers. This epidemiologic transition is largely the result of rapid increases in immigration to developed countries and rural-urban migration within developing countries, which is usually accompanied by environmental and lifestyle changes. In particular, adoption of “Western” dietary patterns, which tend to be high in fat and low in fruits and vegetables, is of concern since diet is a potent contributor to chronic disease risk. However, until recently, the process by which immigrants and rural-urban migrants adopt the dietary practices predominant in their new environments, known as dietary acculturation, has received very little research attention. Dietary acculturation is multidimensional, dynamic, and complex, and varies considerably depending on a variety of personal, cultural, and environmental characteristics. Therefore, to intervene successfully on the negative aspects of dietary acculturation, it is important to understand the process and identify factors that predispose and enable it to occur. The purpose of this article is to provide a practical model for understanding and investigating the effect of dietary acculturation on food and nutrient intake. Thus, this report 1) gives an overview of acculturation, 2) defines dietary acculturation and presents a model for how it occurs, 3) discusses measurement issues around dietary acculturation,4) reviews the literature on dietary acculturation in Korean Americans; 4) suggests a paradigm for acculturation research; and 5) offers some recommendations for future research in this area.
