  • 기존 항만출입 신청서식 및 출입증발급업무는 각 항만별, 부두별로 신청, 검토, 발급의 공통된 프로세스를 가지고 있지만, 표준화된 서식과 발급업무가 구축되어 있지 않아 사용자의 혼란을 증가시키고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해, 기존 인원 및 차량의 항만출입 신청서식 및 출입증발급업무에 대한 조사 분석을 통하여 항만출입 신청서식과 출입증발급업무에 대한 표준안을 제시하여 효율적인 프로세스를 제공하고자 한다.

Feature Analysis for Seceders among New Students Passed the D University Entrance Examination

  • Recently, because of decreasing in population, most of local universities are competing to attract new students in the entrance examination. These situations cause that most of the examinee apply for several universities to matriculate in a university. So these problem may raise a serious trouble such as additional new students invited. Therefore, in this study, we consider a few statistical models by using data mining technique to understand the pattern of new students who discard registration(seceders) in spite of success in the D university entrance examination. To construct these models, we use entrance examination data of three years. On the basis for analysis results of entrance examination data, we look into the features for secession of new students who success in an university entrance examination. We provide a basic information to make a effective entrance plan for seceders in future. Also, we make a search for the trend based on three years by analyzing entrance examination data of 2006, 2007 and 2008 years.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 영국 대학 입학전형 제도를 명문대학의 면접고사를 중심으로 고찰하기 위한 것이다. 이러한 목적을 위해, 영국 중등학교 제도와 전형요소, 그리고 영국 대학입학 전형의 특징을 고찰하고, 영국 명문대학의 입학전형 방법과 면접고사에 대해 상세히 살펴보았다. 영국 대학의 입학사정은 다양한 전형 요소들을 확인하며, 이러한 작업은 모두 대학에서 요구하는 학업능력과 잠재능력을 확인하는데 초점을 둔다. 영국의 명문대학은 영국과 세계 각국의 최우수 학생들을 대상으로 잠재능력과 각 대학이 요구하는 특정 능력을 변별하기 위해 면접고사를 실시한다. 영국 대학의 면접고사는 우리나라 대학입학 전형이 어떤 인재를 선발할 것인지에 대한 기본 철학 측면과 면접고사의 본질과 신뢰도를 제고하는 실제 측면에 중요한 함의를 제공해 주고 있다.

Safety Evaluation of the Lighting at the Entrance of a Very Long Road Tunnel: A Case Study in Ilam

  • Background: At the entrance of a tunnel, reflection of sunlight from the surrounding environment and a lack of adequate lighting usually cause some vision problems. The purpose of this study was to perform a safety evaluation of lighting on a very long road in Ilam, Iran. Methods: The average luminance was measured using a luminance meter (model S3; Hagner, Solna, Sweden). A camera (model 108, 35-mm single-lens reflex; Yashica, Nagano, Japan) was used to take photographs of the safe stopping distance from the tunnel entrance. Equivalent luminance was determined according to the Holliday polar diagram. Results: Considering the average luminance at the tunnel entrance ($116.7cd/m^2$) and using Adrian's equation, the safe level of lighting at the entrance of the tunnel was determined to be 0.7. Conclusion: A comparison between the results of the safe levels of lighting at the entrance of the tunnel and the De Boer scale showed that the phenomenon of black holes is created at the tunnel entrance. This may lead to a misadaptation of the drivers' eyes to the change in luminance level at the entrance of the tunnel, thereby increasing the risk of road accidents in this zone.

약학대학생들의 입학전형요소와 학업성취도의 상관관계에 관한 연구 (Relationship between Entrance Qualifications and Academic Performance of Pharmacy Students)

  • Background: A new admission procedure was introduced to Korea when Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) program was first established in 2011. In the new procedure, applicants are reviewed based on quantitative qualifications, which include Pharmacy Education Eligibility Test (PEET) scores, Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) scores, and grade point average (GPA), as well as qualitative qualifications such as essay writing, extracurricular activities including volunteer experiences. Purpose: This study aimed to find relationships between entrance qualifications and academic performance of pharmacy students. Method: Entrance qualifications and academic performance of 164 first-year students were analyzed from 2011 to 2013 at Catholic University of Daegu. Other characteristics such as age and gender were also considered in the study. Results: Only GPA and TOEIC scores showed positive Pearson correlation with academic performance, while PEET scores did not. Conclusion: GPA and TOEIC scores could potentially have predictive validity for academic performance in pharmacy school. PEET scores, however, should simply be considered as pre-entrance qualifications, without predictive validity for academic performance.

자원회수시설용 폐기물 벙커의 환기설비설계 개선에 관한 연구 (Improvement of the Ventilation Equipment in a Waste Bunker For a Municipal Waste Incinerator)

  • The waste bunker usually consists of waste entrance zone and waste pit. In this paper, the distributions of air flow, $NH_3$ concentration and $H_2S$ concentration in a waste bunker were investigated to prevent an odor generated in a waste pit from dispersing to the waste entrance zone by numerical method. Four cases were considered such that 1) the waste incinerators is operated, 2) the waste incinerators is stopped, 3) the waste incinerator is operated and the direction of a supply diffuser is $45^{\circ}$ upward, 4) the waste incinerator is stopped and the direction of a supply diffuser is $45^{\circ}$ upward. In case of 1), the fresh air from the waste entrance zone is exhausted smoothly to the main exhaust grill of the waste pit. It means that an odor dispersion to the waste entrance zone will not occur. However in case of 2), the induction of fresh air is so small and the supply air with an odor in waste pit can flow to the waste entrance zone. Therefore, an odor will be dispersed to the waste entrance zone. This paper shows the solution that the supply diffuser with the direction of $45^{\circ}$ upward is chosen. As a result in case of 3) and 4), an odor dispersion to the waste entrance zone does not occurred and on odor is exhausted smoothly to the auxiliary exhaust grill.

대학입학전형 관련 요인에 따른 간호학과 1학년의 학업성취 분석 : 일 대학 간호학과를 대상으로 (Nursing Student Academic Achievement depending on College Entrance System-related Factors)

  • Purpose: This study aims to understand the influence of college entrance system-related factors and scores of college scholastic ability test on a first year nursing student's academic achievement. Method: Data collected include both a descriptive survey designed to assess college entrance system-related factors with respect to 182 nursing students attending a 4-year nursing college program and their test scores in the first year. The data were analyzed via descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test with Bonferroni's correction, and Spearman's rank correlation coefficient through an SPSS 18.0 program. Results: Student academic achievement with regard to college entrance system-related factors exhibited significant divergence from first year grade point averages (hereafter GPA) and natural science grades. Conclusion: This study confirmed the existence of significant differences, depending on the factors regarding the college entrance system. As a result, conducting assessment to evaluate the level of basic knowledge before college entrance is highly recommended. Also recommended is the development of a support program for students projected to have difficulties with respect to their academic achievement.

  • This study had a purpose to find the correlation between academic achievement and entrance examination score using FCA and framing a concept of university academic achievement and entrance examination score and then, building concept lattice. The subject for this analysis was admission materials of freshmen in computer engineering department at A university located in Chungcheong area in 2010. Also 56 students in total were subjects for the score analysis of their first semester from 2010 to 2014. The major findings of this study were as follows. We organized and extracted many-valued context, concept lattice, associated rules using FCA. And we analyzed the correlation between University academic achievement and entrance examination score using FCA. The conclusions were as follows. We could get meaningful analyzed results using FCA. University academic achievement had lower relativeness with entrance examination score and female students had higher university academic achievement than male students. The improvement points are summarized below. It is necessary to improve the ratio and application method of the university admission factors and to increase the regular admission for a university. And programs for completing College-preparatory programming for male students in low university academic achievement are necessary.

Skin entrance dose for digital and film radiography in Korean dental schools

  • Purpose: This study was aimed to compare skin entrance dose of digital radiography with that of film radiography and to show the dose reduction achievement with digital systems at 11 dental schools in Korea. Materials and Methods: Forty six intraoral radiographic systems in 11 dental schools were included in this study. Digital sensors were used in 33 systems and film was used in 13 systems. Researchers and the volunteer visited 11 dental schools in Korea. Researchers asked the radiologic technician (s) at each school to set the exposure parameters and aiming the x-ray tube for the periapical view of the mandibular molar of the volunteer. The skin entrance doses were measured at the same exposure parameters and distance by the technician for each system with a dosimeter (Multi-O-Meter : Unfors instruments, Billdal, Sweden). Results: The median dose was $491.2{\mu}Gy$ for digital radiography and $1,205.0{\mu}Gy$ for film radiography. The skin entrance dose in digital radiography was significantly lower than that of film radiography (p<0.05). Conclusion: Fifty-nine percent skin entrance dose reduction with digital periapical radiography was achieved over the film radiography in Korean dental schools.
