정렬된 단축이방성 분자들의 질서변수와 상대 복굴절간 준선형 관계식의 보편성 (Universality of the Quasi-linear Relation Between the Order Parameter and the Normalized Birefringence of Aligned Uniaxially Anisotropic Molecules)

  • 액정과 같은 단축 이방성 분자들의 상대 복굴절 ${\Delta}n_{rel}$과 질서변수 S가 만족하는 준선형 관계식인 $S=(1+a){\Delta}n_{rel}-a{\Delta}n^2_{rel}$이 보편적인 관계식임을 확인하였다. 액정분자들이 정다면체 대칭분포를 할 경우 굴절률은 등방적이며 $\frac{1}{n^2_{av}}=\frac{1}{3}\(\frac{1}{n^2_e}+\frac{2}{n^2_o}\)$와 같이 구해짐을 확인하였다. 정다면체 대칭성을 가지는 액정의 기본 분포에 분포함수 가중치를 가하여 액정의 정렬정도를 바꾸며 ${\Delta}n_{rel}$과 S를 수치계산 하였다. 또한 액정이 z축 주위 회전대칭성을 가지는 깔때기 모양으로 분포하고 있을 때 깔때기의 중심각을 변화시키며 ${\Delta}n_{rel}$과 S를 수치계산 하였다. 이로부터 S와 ${\Delta}n_{rel}$의 준선형 관계식이 액정의 분포형태와는 무관한 보편적인 관계식임을 보였다.

원격 측정 시스템 파라미터 실시간 업데이트 PCM 엔코더 구조 (PCM Encoder Structure for Real-time Updating of Telemetry System Parameters)

  • 본 논문에서는 원격 측정 시스템 파라미터에 대한 실시간 업데이트가 가능한 PCM (pulse code modulation) 엔코더 구조에 대해 기술한다. PCM 엔코더 내부에는 FPGA (filed programmable gate array), flash 메모리, 센서 데이터 계측을 위한 아날로그 신호 조절부를 구성하였다. PCM 엔코더의 FPGA 내부에 로직을 통해 UART (universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter) 통신, 아날로그 신호 조절부 제어, flash 메모리 제어, 프레임 구성이 가능하다. UART 통신을 이용해 PC에서 파라미터 데이터를 PCM 엔코더에게 송신할 수 있으며, flash 메모리가 제어되어 원격 계측 시스템의 파라미터가 실시간으로 업데이트 되어 최종적으로 프레임이 구성된다. 시뮬레이션과 검증을 통해 파라미터 데이터의 실시간 업데이트 여부에 대해 확인하였으며, 제안된 구조를 이용하여 유연성과 편의성을 높인 원격 계측 시스템을 구성할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

SCS-CN 대표 매개변수가 분포형과 집중형 강우-유출 모형에서 유출 손실에 미치는 영향 비교 (Impact of Representative SCS-CN on Simulated Rainfall Runoff)

  • The determination of soil parameters is important in predicting the simulated surface runoff using either a distributed or a lumped rainfall-runoff model. Soil characteristics can be collected using remote sensing techniques and represented as a digital map. There is no universal agreement with respect to the determination of a representative parameter from a gridded digital map. Two representative methods, i.e., arithmetic and predominant, are introduced and applied to both FLO-2D and HEC-HMS to improve the model's accuracy. Both methods are implemented in the Yongdam catchment, and the results show that the former seems to be more accurate than the latter in the test site. This is attributed to the high conductivity of the dominant soil class, which is A type.

Criteria for clinical translucency evaluation of direct esthetic restorative materials

  • The purpose of this review was to suggest practical criteria for the clinical translucency evaluation of direct esthetic restorative materials, and to review the translucency with these criteria. For the evaluation of reported translucency values, measuring instrument and method, specimen thickness, background color, and illumination should be scrutinized. Translucency parameter (TP) of 15 to 19 could be regarded as the translucency of 1 mm thick human enamel. Visual perceptibility threshold for translucency difference in contrast ratio (${\Delta}CR$) of 0.07 could be transformed into ${\Delta}TP$ value of 2. Translucency differences between direct and indirect resin composites were perceivable (${\Delta}TP>2$). Universal and corresponding flowable resin composites did not show perceivable translucency differences in most products. Translucency differed significantly by the product within each shade group, and by the shade group within each product. Translucency of human enamel and perceptibility threshold for translucency difference may be used as criteria for the clinical evaluation of translucency of esthetic restorative materials.

SynRM 드라이브의 고성능 제어를 위한 RFNN 제어기 설계 (Design of RFNN Controller for high performance Control of SynRM Drive)

  • Since the fuzzy neural network(FNN) is universal approximators, the development of FNN control systems have also grown rapidly to deal with non-linearities and uncertainties. However, the major drawback of the existing FNNs is that their processor is limited to static problems due to their feedforward network structure. This paper proposes the recurrent FNN(RFNN) for high performance and robust control of SynRM. RFNN is applied to speed controller for SynRM drive and model reference adaptive fuzzy controller(MFC) that combine adaptive fuzzy learning controller(AFLC) and fuzzy logic control(FLC), is applied to current controller. Also, this paper proposes speed estimation algorithm using artificial neural network(ANN). The proposed method is analyzed and compared to conventional PI and FNN controller in various operating condition such as parameter variation, steady and transient states etc.

PREDICTION OF UNMEASURED PET DATA USING SPATIAL INTERPOLATION METHODS IN AGRICULTURAL REGION

  • This paper describes the use of spatial interpolation for estimating seasonal crop potential evapotranspiration (PET) and irrigation water requirement in unmeasured evaporation gage stations within Edwards Aquifer, Texas using GIS. The Edwards Aquifer area has insufficient data with short observed records and rare gage stations, then, the investigation of data for determining of irrigation water requirement is difficult. This research shows that spatial interpolation techniques can be used for creating more accurate PET data in unmeasured region, because PET data are important parameter to estimate irrigation water requirement. Recently, many researchers are investigating intensively these techniques based upon mathematical and statistical theories. Especially, three techniques have well been used: Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW), spline, and kriging (simple, ordinary and universal). In conclusion, the result of this study (Table 1) shows the kriging interpolation technique is found to be the best method for prediction of unmeasured PET in Edwards aquifer, Texas.

  • Bei der vorliegenden Arbeit geht es in erster Linie urn die Frage, ob das Kooprationsprinzip und die Konversationsmaximen von Grice als universale Prinzipien angenommen werden $k\"{o}nnen$. Diese Fragestellung $erw\"{a}chst$ aus der Beobachtung, $da{\ss}$ Grices Prinzipien in manchen $F\"{a}llen$ des Sprachgebrauches nicht als universal geltend erscheinen. Solche $F\"{a}lle$ finden sich vor allem in der Werbesprache, beim geschlechtsunterschied1ich betrachteten Sprachgebrauch und im Bereich der sozio-kulturell bedingten Kontexte des Sprachgebrauchs. In derartigen $F\"{a}llen\;haben\;n\"{a}mlich$ die konkreten Zwecke des Sprachgebrauches $Priorit\"{a}t$ vor sprachtheoretischen Prinzipien. Die $\"{U}berlegungen$ der vorliegenden Abhandlung zeigen nun, dass wir es dabei im Einzelfall zwar mit sehr unterschiedlichen und fallspezifischen Spracherscheinungen zu tun haben, dass diese sich aber mit Hilfe von ethnolinguistischen Untersuchungen $schlie{\ss}lich$ dennoch als Parameter unter universalen Prinzipien $erkl\"{a}ren$ lassen.

한국어 화자의 영어 일치소 습득과 그 이론적 함축성 (The acquisition of L2 English agreement by L1 Korean speakers & its theoretical implications for SLA)

  • This paper aims at showing firstly, that the parameterized Universal Grammar is also accessible in second language acquisition based on the data found in the English Agreement acquisition by Korean speakers and secondly, that the theoretical claim that the acquisition of Agreement is related to the Subject Drop phenomenon can be supported by the second language acquisition data. The functional category AGRP which is crucial here can be parameterized according to its features with Korean of - Agr and English of + Agr. Two groups of 40 each were tested and the result shows that the parameter resetting is possible in terms of the Agreement feature. In addition to Agreement test, three more tests for the distribution of Subject Drop, Subject Raising and NPI (Negative Polarity Items) were conducted in order to find the correlation among those grammatical phenomena. The result is that the acquisition of Agreement and the Subject Drop possibility are correlated but that they are not related to the obligatory Subject Raising process. Finally, NPI distribution test which is supposedly related to the Subject Raising turned out to carry little information since the average grades from both groups were very low.

RUSLE을 위한 반월 주기 강우가식성인자 산정 (Computing the Half-Month Rainfall-Runoff Erosivity Factor for RUSLE)

  • The objective of the paper is to compute the half-month rainfall-runoff erosivity factor for revised universal soil loss equation (RUSLE). RUSLE is being used to develop soil conservation programs and identify optimum management practices. Rainfall-runoff erosivity factor (R) is a key input parameter to RUSLE. Rainfall-runoff erosivity factor has been calculated for twenty six stations from the nationwide rainfall data from 1973 to 2002 in south Korea. The average annual Rainfall-runoff erosivity factor at the analyzed stations Is between 3,130 and 10,476 (MJ/ha)ㆍ(mm/h). According to the computation of the half-month Rainfall-runoff erosivity factor for locations, 66-85% of the average annual R value has occurred during the summer months, June-August. The half-month R values from this study can be used for RUSLE.

웨이블렛 기반 영상 잡음제거를 위한 천이 불변 uHMT 추정 (Shift-Invariant uHMT Estimation for Wavelet-based Image Denoising)

  • 본 논문은 웨이블렛 기반 영상 잡음제거를 위한 천이 불변 uHMT(universal hidden Markov tree) 추정을 제안한다. 제안된 추정은 영상의 크기와 스케일의 수에 독립적이고 어떤 학습도 필요하지 않는 단지 9개의 고정된 파라메터를 가지며 DWT(Discrete Wavelet Transform)의 천이 불변성 결핍에 의해 발생하는 가시적인 artifacts를 제거한다. 실험 결과, 제안된 추정은 기존의 웨이블렛 기반 잡음제거 방법들 보다 PSNR로 0.5-ldB 개선되었으며 수행 속도 측면에서 Ο(nlog n)를 제공한다.
