Development of Dispatching Strategy for Inbound and Outbound Trucks in Cross Docking System (크로스도킹 시스템에서의 입고 및 출하 트럭의 배차 전략 개발)

  • A cross docking operation involves multiple inbound trucks that deliver items from suppliers to a distribution center and multiple outbound trucks that ship items from the distribution center to customers. Based on customer demands, an inbound truck may have its items transferred to multiple outbound trucks. Similarly, an outbound truck can receive its consignments from multiple inbound trucks. The objective of this study is to find the best truck spotting sequence for both inbound and outbound trucks in order to minimize total operation time of the cross docking system under the condition that multiple visits to the dock by a truck to unload or load its consignments is allowed. The allocations of the items from inbound trucks to outbound trucks are determined simultaneously with the spotting sequences of both the inbound and outbound trucks.

  • The surface morphology of oil-lubricated surface for hydraulic piston motor is believed to be extremely effective in contact mechanics. adhesion, friction and wear. In order to describe morphology of various rubbed surface on driving condition, the wear test was carried out under different experimental conditions in oil-lubricated system. And fractal descriptors was applied to rubbed surface of hydraulic driving material with image processing system. These descriptors to analyze surface structure are fractal dimension. Surface fractal dimension can be determined by sum of intensity difference of surface pixel. Morphology of rubbed surface can be effectively obtained by fractal dimensions.

  • The goal of this study is to make the government/users decide rationally with regards to the problems of the weapon systems management. Therefore it is necessary to develop how much precisely and through what methods the system should be cost. That costing policies should be determined under the considerations of the estimating expense and the expected benefit due to the applications of cost informations. After that, it must also be decided where the cost informations are used. We can suggest the cost results be used to find the most reasonable system among alternatives, the best producer, the most benevolent policy for user, and so on.

  • Load models are very important for improving the accuracy of stability analysis and load flow studies. Various loads are connected to a power bus and their characteristics of power consumption change with voltage and frequency. Thus, the effect of voltage/frequency changes must be considered in load modeling. In this work, artificial neural networks-ANNs- were used to construct the component load models for more accurate modeling. A typical residential load was selected and subjected to a test under variable voltage/frequency conditions. Acquired data were used to construct component models by ANNs. The aggregation process of separately determined load models is also presented in the paper. Furthermore, this paper proposes a method to transform a single load model constructed by the aggregation method into a mathematical load model that can be used in traditional power system analysis software.

  • This paper presents experimental results of transient impedance characteristics investigated on the site of a large-scale grounding system using impulse current. The ground potential rise was measured while injecting an impulse current and the transient impedance was determined. As a results, the transient impedance was significantly greater than the stationary grounding resistance due to high inductance of ground conductors and leads.

  • This paper presents the method for the fluctuation smoothing control by using relaxation time variable control of battery. When the output power of wind farm is changed suddenly, it is necessary to control the output power of wind farm. The smoothing relaxation time is changed within limits of battery output power. Using the hybrid energy storage system (HESS) combined with battery energy storage system and electric double layer capacitor, it is possible to control the output power of wind farm. The capacity of battery is determined by considering the case of the disconnecting wind farm from the grid. To verify the proposed method, simulations are carried out by using PSCAD/EMTDC with actual data of wind farm in the Jeju Island.

Explicit Formulae for Characteristics of Finite-Capacity M/D/1 Queues

  • Even though many computational methods (recursive formulae) for blocking probabilities in finite-capacity M/D/1 queues have already been produced, these are forms of transforms or are limited to single-node queues. Using a distinctly different approach from the usual queueing theory, this study introduces explicit (transform-free) formulae for a blocking probability, a stationary probability, and mean sojourn time under either production or communication blocking policy. Additionally, the smallest buffer capacity subject to a given blocking probability can be determined numerically from these formulae. With proper selection of the overall offered load ${\rho}$, the approach described herein can be applicable to more general queues from a computational point of view if the explicit expressions of random vector $D_n$ are available.

  • Fuzzy optimal control is considered. An optimal sequence of controls is sought best satisfying fuzzy constraints on the controls and fuzzy goals on the states (outputs), with a fuzzy system under control Control over a fixed and specified, implicitly specified, fuzzy, and infinite termination time is discussed. For computational efficiency a small number of reference fuzzy staters and controls is to be assumed by which fuzzy controls and stated are approximated. Optimal control policies reference fuzzy states are determined as a fuzzy relation used, via the compositional rule of inference, to derive an optimal control. Since this requires a large number of overlapping reference fuzzy controls and states implying a low computational efficiency, a small number of nonoverlapping reference fuzzy states and controls is assumed, and then interpolative reasoning is used to infer an optimal fuzzy control for a current fuzzy state.

  • Upgrade development of a high pressure ratio centrifugal compressor in marine engine turbochargers is presented. A new matched operating point at increased speed of rotation was determined through system cycle analysis using the exisitng test data of turbine performance. Under some severe restrictions for geometric parameters, the state-of-the-art methods of both aerodynamic design and CFD analysis were applied, in which only an impeller, a vaned diffuser and some part of casing wall were modified. Prototype hardware was fabricated and assembled for system performance tests. Excellent performance in pressure ratio and efficiency was obtained over whole speed region. Reduced surge and choke margin was, however, observed at design speed of rotation.

  • In this paper, the elevated temperature tensile properties and short-time creep rupture characteristics were investigated for the friction welded joints of dissimilar materials, Cu-1%Cr-0.5%Zr and STS316L. The joining tests on Cu-1%Cr-0.5%Zr/STS316L by friction welding were performed, and optimum joining conditions of the friction welded joints were determined. The characteristics of the elevated temperature tensile strength, hardness, fractographs were examined, and the creep rupture characteristics for the optimum welded joints were investigated under uniaxal static load at 300, 400 and $500^{\circ}C$.
